    Man thank you. I didn’t know this was so easy to add. Cost $60 and took 30 seconds

    Excellent video! I have WT and I was bummed that I didn’t have the extra information from a dic. This looks straightforward. Thank you for taking the time.

    I know this comment isn't actually related to the subject at hand, but I'd like to share my impressions of my new to me 2009 Chevy Silverado. I purchased this truck about a week ago. It is immaculate, inside, out, and underneath. Looks like it hasn't been driven since the original purchase. Beautiful truck. I have been driving a 1997 F-150 for about 8 years and really like it, but it is getting older and when I came across this Chevy, I just couldn't pass it up. I'm experiencing a huge case of buyer's remorse. It doesn't compare to my Ford in many areas, such as comfort. The interior materials are hard plastic and not at all comfortable, (think armrests, etc.) I cannot see through the interior rearview mirror to back up. It's just a black view. The 4.3 engine doesn't get as good gas mileage as my Ford with the 4.6. The seats aren't as comfortable. I may eventually come around, but right now, I wish I hadn't purchased it. There's a reason the F-150 is the biggest selling truck in America.

      That’s too funny because I’ve had just the opposite experience. Before I got this truck I owned a 2011 F150 super crew cab Platinum 4x4.
      The sunroof was broken due to cheap plastic gears that were used, the rear slider glass was broken (same reason), and gas mileage was terrible. The finish was rubbing off the interior. But the main reason I got rid of it was I had two different types of metal shavings in the oil. We know what that means, motor will soon go out. This is the second Ford I’ve owned with less than 150,000 miles on it with major engine failure. Of all the Chevys I’ve owned, never have I had engine failure.
      That gm 4.3 is one of the most reliable motors on the street today. I’ve got a friend with a 99 Silverado with 400k on his 4.3 and has had no internal work done to date. You’re way better of with that 4.3 than any modern Ford motor. Must be why guys will run gm motors in their Fords, but Chevy guys NEVER run Ford motors in their Chevys. Lol
      Chevy trucks sell far more and hold their value better than Ford. If I were you I’d hold on to that work truck. 💀🤘🏼

    Were would the harness be tucked under?

    • @thatsinglecabchevy1426
      @thatsinglecabchevy1426  Год назад

      If it’s not tucked back, the factory will have it plugged into the back of the headlight switch bezel where the information center control panel goes. Try looking on the back of the switch bezel to see if it’s installed there.

    Hello! Thanks for your video. I tried to find the harness, but it doesn't come in my truck, Could you know if I could buy the harness for the DIC and put it on silverado 2011 1500 WT?

    • @thatsinglecabchevy1426
      @thatsinglecabchevy1426  Год назад +2

      Should be there. Did you look on the back of your Headlight switch bezel? They are also plugged into a blank on the back side of the bezel where the DIC control panel would go.

    Thanks for the video.. was EZ. Now I can see (vis the unlocked features ) that my Front Driver side tire keeps dropping the TPMS signal...
    For the swap, found an ebay trim piece with the 4 DISC and the updated (with fog lights button) trim piece - so there may be fog light harness / light install in my future. [[note to future junkyeard / ebay searchers - try to find one with the buttons already in it like pictured @4:28 in the video]]. My OG trim looked similar, but without the fog light button on the bottom of the dome/interior light adjust dial.
    When I was pulling at the top of the OG trim piece - the whole thing started to come out pretty easy - so I decided to proceed without removing the other side/bottom trims. Just carefully pulled out the OG trim - applying pressure from behind without removing the pieces was slightly 'risky move' but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ .. it worked.

    How did you find the inside connection ?

    • @thatsinglecabchevy1426
      @thatsinglecabchevy1426  Год назад

      It will be mounted on the back side of the headlight bezel where the DIC goes, or the harness will be tucked back. Should be easy to find.

      Thanks, it was easy to spot . I did all 3 of your videos, fog lights, and hd bumper swap upgrade on my 09 work truck. You really explain it well, and your method for the brackets modification was the cleanest out there.

      I think the later 2007 year models and up started to have them factory installed but the one I have doesn't have it, so I'm assuming I have the early 2007 model of the Silverado 1500LT.

  • @henryguzman6157
    @henryguzman6157 2 года назад +2

    You don’t even need to remove all that

    • @thatsinglecabchevy1426
      @thatsinglecabchevy1426  2 года назад +1

      Yeah, I know guys that don’t remove the bottom panel, but it is a good idea to. The proper way to remove the Headlight A/C bezel is to pull straight back with no angles. When you pull with hard angles, you risk breaking retaining tabs. The bezel also has a small flange that gets hung up on the lower panel. Often, if not removed, guys will scratch this panel too. And removing the lower panel gives you more room for your pry tool and fingers.
      Did you do this upgrade?
