I lost 95 pounds doing very low carb. Took me about a year and a half. I was 230 down to 135 now and I am 5'5" 68 years old. I had all the metabolic issues mentioned above on the video. HDL was 30 Triglycerides over 400. Now HDL is 83 Triglycerides are just over 100. Cholesterol is a little high but doctor is not worried since everything else is looking so good. Doc was shocked to see me do this totally on my own and at my age and very little exercise other than I am a normally hard worker. He is very pleased with my progress. I have kept it off for over a year now with very little effort. I am no longer hungry all the time. Good luck to you.

Bless your heart. Your story makes me sad. People don't realize how they have been lied to about diet. I'm so glad you finally found the truth. I've been on the keto diet for about 25 years. Yes, it's not a new diet, it's just newly popular. I'm 71 years old now and I actually do cartwheels (not somersaults) on the back lawn with my grandchildren. I stand up putting on my socks, I walk for miles without tiring and I ride my bike within a 30-mile radius, even using my bike when grocery shopping. When I first began eating keto, I lost over 80 pounds and have kept it off. I have been at my ideal weight for many years and I owe it all to the keto diet. For 25 years, I've been in perfect health and don't even have a doctor. I do annual check-ups and all the tests come out great.

Hi Dot I have been watching your videos for quite a while and over the past couple of years been on a journey myself. I remember you saying on one of your vids that you went on the carnivore to try that out. Just really curious how that went for you? I tried it for about 3 months and maybe I should have been on it for longer. But eating just meat is really not for me. It did help with portion control though but I was not digesting well enough. My sugar levels were starting to climb and I am on blood pressure pills. So after alot of research I decided to go on a parasite cleanse as well as a liver cleanse. I was pretty sick about 2 weeks after I started the parasite cleanse. It was the die offs that got me. The dead parasites coming out of my body. But I am under the care of a naturopath and colonic specialist. Not too pleased about having to concentrate on drinking 10 - 12 cups of water per day. That is too much water but if I don't I get constipated.
But I have gone back to the keto diet. It's my best lifestyle diet I'm very glad to hear you are doing very well, you look so healthy also FABULOUS & BEAUTIFUL!!! Keep up the good work girl. 😊

After my wife passed away with cancer 1.5 year ago after 26 years of marriage , and i was looking after my mum who had dementia .and working 12 hours a day . i found my self eating when ever i could find a few spare minuets , this meant sandwiches and sausage rolls off the food van , microwave meals after work and ice creams . Sit down exhausted and depressed cracking open a few cans of beer , bottle of wine at the weekend may be a bottle of gin or malt whisky . week in week out ..the last few weeks i have felt my body change : tingling in my arm and leg like pins and needles , dizzy , this weekend my eye is all red and blood shot .. This is the first time in my life i had felt a little frightened about my health , i'm on my own and if i take ill how will i cope . i'm 58 , 5 foot 8 and would say about 17 stone now , i was shocked when i saw my self in a mirror . i need to change my life style from now this day !!! , stop drinking in the house on my own and cook fresh healthy meals , more veg and good things .. i looked at getting food boxes but that's not the answer..i will follow these video's , cook and eat the recipes , take up walking again ... little steps may change my life around for the better ( i hope ) :)

I am so happy to have found this channel....I have been following these young girls in their 20's and trying to stay motivated, but I just can't relate to them. For the most part their videos are difficult to pay attention to because they either have toddlers running in and out, or they want to introduce you to their dogs and cats. How does this inspire me?? As an older person (63) I can definitely confirm this, gitarmac! I've lost weight using Dr. Atkins' guidelines on and off for years but I do love food and I sometimes back slide; but when I did this recently and gained weight I felt like I could barely move, my back and hips especially were agonizing. Luckily I knew what to do. I went back to low carb eating and presto - my flexibility and energy have returned, my skin and hair have improved amazingly. I am staying here permanently now.

True inspiration! A relatable person talking about everyday issues is hard to find. Add on sincerity and that’s what has me wanting to watch more of your recipes with the stories you share along the way. Thank you for the honest, open discussion that is so important in a woman’s life. We tend to take care of everything & everyone else’s concerns leaving our needs last. So excited to have found your videos and I have much to learn especially low carb cooking. My husband has had 2 open heart surgeries and has about 16 stents. Sad, but he’s had so many stents we’ve lost count. He’s not overweight. Exercised and ran marathons. Even stress tests & other heart testing showed nothing’s no wrong. Then he had a load of pressure in her s chest & gratefully went to the doctor. Men can be worse than anyone to see a doctor. He went straight from that office appointment to the hospital & the rest is history. His family has history of heart disease & his surgeon said he’d never seen someone like him with so much fatty plaque in his arteries & who appeared to be the visual example of a fitness expert. That was in 2000 and we’ve been through many ups & downs with health concerns. You are 100% right when you said eating is about good, healthy, fresh food that’s not full of preservatives & loaded with salt. I’m so excited for you and will be bleary eyed for days as I watch your videos to learn more of your healthy ideas. You make your recipes with ingredients easily found and not exotic items that you use once and throw away because it spoiled. Thank you for your courage and inspiration to share your story and your recipes. I hope someone will see your videos & know a good cookbook is waiting to be made. Wishing you all the best & here’s to good health and good for us food!

Good for you, girl! What a wonderful story. You are truly beautiful. I have had to battle extra weight since I was ten in 1966 and the doctor, after taking my appendix out, told my parents I had too much belly fat. I, too, have been on every diet in the world. I finally just started doing what I wanted to do, being active and the real change happened when I cut the white food way back and ate all the good fats I could. At 62 I think I’ve finally “got it.” No holds barred on vacation and the odd treat. You seem happy. May that continue. 💛

That's great! I bet you do wonderfully. One of the things that helped me keep my eye on the ball was to constantly read and stay engaged with the subject matter (eating low carb) rather than just following a set plan. Knowledge really is power -- as well as reassurance. At least for me :)

You're such an inspiration! I'm in the middle of my weight loss journey and I have a long way ahead of me. I started to eat low carb 3 weeks ago and I'm also going to the gym. I hope I can achieve what you did. Be proud of yourself!

Love love love your attitude and demeanour towards reclaiming your health. Thank you. I’m in the process of making good food choices and safeguarding my health as I had slipped into some bad food choices and put 3 stone on. I’ve now gotten rid of 1 stone and feel much better and I’m looking forward to shifting the rest and listening to what you have to tell. 🌞🌸

Awesome! I am a new subscriber. Just started this lifestyle a week ago and I've already lost 4 lbs, but better than that ...I feel GREAT!
