    I like those EMUs with the stainless steel ribbed panels : reminds me of the classic streamlined trains here in North America . Perth has an enviable system. Thanks for posting.

    I so miss Perth transport. There is bugger all Trains here in Tasmania, apart from freight and coal ones. No passenger trains at all except from a rickety old DRM that does nostalgia runs. Bleh. So I enjoy any WA rail vids ☺

    What’s the ridership like in Perth? I notice that there’s a lot more cars on them than we would see in Adelaide, the most we run in Adelaide is 4 cars apart from when there’s special events.
    Perth also seems to have larger sand better maintained stations than Adelaide, although I do feel we have a better bus system than Perth.

      Annual patronage is around 150 million that’s combined bus, train & ferry) train patronage is around 65-70million trips that’ll grow as more of the new lines and extensions come online (75km of new track and around 19/20 new stations) servicing the Airport/High Wycombe, Ellenbrook, Byford, Yanchep & Thornlie to Cockburn Central, the north/south line is all 6car systems roughly 3-5 minutes in peak, the heritage lines run a mix of 2, 3 & 4car systems platforms will be progressively lengthened to support 6car systems starting with the inner Armadale line as part of the Thornlie Cockburn link, the new high capacity signalling system will allow trains to run every 2 minutes the network will grow to around 260km with around 90 stations
      The fleet will comprise of 41 6car C series (first order) and a second order of 30 to be acquired at a later date
      41/71 6car C series
      78 3car B series sets
      48 2car A series but these are up for retirement within the decade

      @@jayyy092 far out, train trips alone equal more ridership than all of adelaide metro, our trains get a yearly ridership of 15-20 million

    • @jayyy092
      @jayyy092 3 года назад +1

      The new high capacity 6car C series trains will increase capacity on the existing network as well as the royal show and football shuttles to Perth stadium, Adelaide mostly still runs diesel trains however the government is electrifying some lines think they’ve done the south line and are doing the northern line, don’t think many use it as it’s seen as slow not too mention lack of investment in infrastructure too like stations etc

    • @Adelaide_Transit
      @Adelaide_Transit 3 года назад

      @@jayyy092 The Seaford line,Flinders branch and the Gawler line all get very heavy patronage, interpeak all 3 lines are dealing with crowding issues. All the lines are time competitive with cars par the belair line which is very broken, Gawler,Seaford and Flinders continuously get station upgrades and we are in fact preparing for 6 car EMUs on two of the lines. We have an annual ridership of 20 million on our trains, the 3000 class dmus are slowly being forced out of service by the 4000 class emu's. There's even a proposition for another line opening up and an underground city loop/ connector.

    • @chamindasamaraweera8546
      @chamindasamaraweera8546 3 года назад +2

      I used to live in Perth but I now live in Adelaide. Compared to Perth's, Adelaide's public transport system (especially the train network) is sub-par. Even if you count the Gawler line, which hasn't yet been completely electrified, only 3 out of the 6 train lines are electric. The diesel rolling stock is close to 40 years old, smelly & noisy. A lot of train stations have not been upgraded in decades, look run down & reek of urine. Most level crossings don't have auto locking gates for the pedestrians & the platforms are not level with the trains.
      Adelaide's bus system is better than Perth's? Are you kidding?

    Hi! Amazing video first of all. As a Transperth train fan I am very pleased to see videos like the legendary b series going on a series territory. But I have a few burning questions. When the text said the car numbers, how was that determined. Because whenever I catch the train it is always in the thousands. Another question. HOW DID YOU KNOW ALL THIS STUFF! I need to know. I am desperate for information. I must know everything about Transperth.
    Thanks

    • @ausrailaction1348
      @ausrailaction1348  2 года назад +2

      Hiii with the numbers for example the b series is a 3 car set one end is starting with for example set 6075, the middle is 5075 which is called the t car and the other driving end is 4075 but we call the sets by their last 2 or 3 numbers depedning how high they rank like sets 6126 we call set 126 and thankyou so much for watching!!

    I will correct on 1 thing whilst the trains and their might wear transperth garb anything riding on rail is operated via westrail..||
    noting most of the suburban rail barely 4 cars to the platform so at 6 cars in length you would 2 cars over the platform or partials of the drivers cab going past the platform
    All series trains run on all lines
    Perth looks like a great success story however come live and rely on public transport
