Today some of the West Midlands turbostars are back here at Derby and are in East Midlands railway livery same purple livery as the west midlands railway units

Fantastic video! Those Midland Mainline HST's will always be my favourites!

But when it’s in the white with purple swirl ends for EMR, it might be a match for the midland mainline though...

Those Midland Mainline and Virgin HST sets looked so good

Wow. It looks familiar, yet drastically different. All those trains and carriages don't really exist anymore. Only the high speed midland one really runs now and I only see it at Nottingham because it's for St Pancras.

Glad to see all of the trains in the video are still used :)

I miss National Express Midland Mainline. It was the first privatised railway operator, as such as: GNER, Midland Mainline, Virgin (Cross Country and West Coast), Central Trains, Silverlink, Connex (Thameslink, Southern, etc.), SPL, Arriva, Stagecoach (Southwest Trains and Virgin), First (Great Western Railway, Northwestern, Hull, etc.), and so-fourth; that we all remember them like yesteryear and worship them till’ the day that we all die.

So much change in 15 years. 170/153 combos at Derby looks very odd.

Class 43's, good old Intercity 125's in a strange Midland mainline livery, before East midland trains, East midland railways

Who was better in the day ?
Central trains or midland mainline ?
Personally I’ve only ever been on central trains but they were a pretty good company

Midland Mainline: definitely one of the nicer franchise liveries, after Virgin

I miss this era of franchises, so much colour and personality. Nowadays they all have the same bland white schemes.

Agreed however I prefer the ‘updated’ MML livery over the turquoise MML Livery

8 carriages on the midland hst ? Is this because of the buffet car ? I was under the impression the total rake formation was 9 not 10 ?

Some of them are even shorter in scotland or down on the coast like paignton or penzanze
