- In this video I talk about 5 players that i believe played in the wrong era. I explain why that player was either ahead or after his time. I mention football players from the 60's, 80's, 90's, and 2010's.

I've been saying for years that if vontaze burfict played a little earlier he would've been a hall of fame linebacker and celebrated as such, but instead he's labeled a dirty player. Let's see, Ray Lewis, Mike Singletary, Brian Dawkins, Steve Atwater, James Harrison, Lawrence Taylor, Bill Romanowski. These are just a handful of players that are beloved and all of them took joy in completely annihilating opposing players and talked crap afterwards. There is no difference between the way them and burfict played, but he's dirty and they're all time greats.
much agreed
He would be great in the 70s and 80s
Well I think regardless of era burfict woulda been labeled as dirty it just wouldn't have been as publicized
@@justjalen2700 nobody calls Ray Lewis or Brian Dawkins or any of the other guys I named dirty with the exception of Romanowski but that's because he spit on people and stuff like that. They were called feared or gladiators or rough or a bunch of other things but never remember them being called dirty. They weren't suspended for knocking people unconscious. They were actually celebrated. Burfict got ran out the league and he didn't play any differently than those guys.
All the people you listed (Except from Romanowski) played CLEAN physical football. They wouldn't do ridiculous things like dive at a guys knees after the ball is already 50 yards down the field or go head first into a receiver after the ball hit the ground. That's not football thats just stupid. They were respected because they would hit you and thats the end of it. "A little earlier" wouldn't cut it. He would have to play in the 30's or 50's for him to slide by.
Reggie Bush was a generation early.
Randall Cunningham just imagine if he played in today's era
Facts he was a dawg
This was my first thought before I even watched the video. He’d be a better version of Lamar Jackson
@@SoftDrinksOfChoice imma probably make a part 2 to this video. Thank you for the support ❤️
Flutie was a menace for wearing 22 and 20 🤣
😂😂
Tavon was that guy in college
Burfict would have fit right in on those 70s Raiders and Steelers teams. In fact he wouldn't even be considered the hardest hitter on his own team back then.
I think if you added Shannon Sharpe you could make a case for Mike Vick playing the wrong era. Take away the fact his career was stunted when he went to prison but his stats were never HOF worthy. There is a reason he put up his best stats once the league started to change once he was with the Eagles
Quarterbacks didn't just happen to become less turnover prone. The coaching the system everything became more sophisticated. He would be a Hall of famer, if you were given a chance back in the day you would have a shot of the hall
Lol Flutie was like 5'9, he MAYBE carves out a Minshew-type career if he played today
Lol, Bull
R.I.P Sean Taylor definitely played in the wrong era 70s-90s was his era.
Really? Why do you say that?
Jalen don’t miss ‼️ I know you’re a college football guy at heart but this was dope seeing you do NFL content
Bro with the glasses brings a new kitten home- “Now this is a different kind of cat!!”
I loved Flutie ! He was like a mini Brady when it came to his guts ! They played together in 2005 to bad the defense sucked that year.
Well done list. I taught at Douglass when Tavon Austin was in high school. He didn’t look real on the field.
Good point about burfect. Hated him but his antics were nothing compared to butkus, LT, hamm and many others.
Reggie Bush fits the definition by a mile. He'd be an all-pro had he came 10 years later. Still had one hell of a highlight reel in the moments he did shine.
if burfict played in the 70s or 80s he’d be a god!
Especially _with the Steelers_ which their fans are sometimes loathe to admit.
Flutie just brought something undefinable. The trite "he's a winner " applies
Agreed, that intangible element! Did you see any of his a CFL career?
Damn Doug Flutie was basically my size, I'm 5'9 177lbs. Dude had some sack to go out there, the idea of playing in the NFL makes me think I would die after 1 hit.
Burfict was made an example by the NFL to set their "PREDCENT" for player safety..NFL didnt want to fine Steelers organizations and their head hunters so they made it like Burfict was the only one who was doing it.
Mike Bitchell, James Harrison, Antwun Blake, Ryan Shazier were all head hunting in that same era, yet they always had the benefit of the doubt and everything did was always a slap on the wrist to no do it again.
The funniest part is that everyone kept saying Burfict is a dirty player but hes paid to tackle and play defense, everyone acting like you gotta ask the offensive player if they are ready to get tackle.
Mike Bitchell was using Dalton and Eifert as an example on how Dalton wasnt accurate with his pass which led to him getting fine and blamed Dalton for his errant pass so thats why hes gotta play the price
But if you spin it around the other way, the Steelers QB missed AB high and wasnt accurate its suddenly a dirty play by the Bengals..lmao
Its always funny how the NFL always deemed Burfict hits as late and dirty and helmet to helmet when its a bang bang play, but when oppose teams do it, its hardnose football..
Burfict dont need to prove anything, NFL & Squeelers were all crying!!
I agree completely fr
Honorable mention, Barry Sanders, Megatron, and arguably Stafford. Were drafted by the Lions before competent ownership in Shiela. Stafford could have won that ring with us.
I didn't even think about that. Thank you for the support ❤️. Subscribe I have part 2 coming soon
@@justjalen2700 Way ahead of ya
Jordan Howard and Matt Forte came to the Bears in the wrong order...Forte was about a generation too early, Howard was a generation or two too late.
Facts
Also thank you for the support ❤️. Subscribe I have part 2 on the way
Reggie Bush would’ve been xrazyyyyyyyy
That sam huff segment is apprrciated frok a football history fan. His endorsements todsy would be through the roof
I had to show support to one of the pioneer's. Thank you for the support ❤️
Did you type this with your forehead?
Randall Cunningham would have been great in today’s game maybe even a hall of famer based off his play style.
What editing software do you use?
I use Capcut
Very good video
Thank you ❤️
Tavon would EAT in today's NFL.
Facts. Thank you for the support ❤️ subscribe I have part 2 coming soon
2024 Shannon Sharpe .... naw we wouldnt be ready for that
Tavon on the Lions.
Vontez burficts "playing style" wouldn't even be allowed in the 70s let alone the 90s or 2000's. He didn't get kicked out the league just because he "hit hard". He would do ridiculous and downright psychotic things like dive at guys knees while the ball was 50 yards down the field and go head first into a receiver after the ball had already hit the ground. I love physical, violent football but people confuse that with straight dirty football. The only era I could see him play in is the 30's to 50's, the "Anything but murder" era
You obviously didn't watch football in the 70's and 80's
Yea look up Tatum, Night Train Lane, ect
@@bfrye3345I know right, during the 70s & 80s, that was one of the most physical/“dirty” eras for football there was 🤣!
Flutie is a top player for me. True he didn't win big games in Chicago after that hype train... but dude had a clutch gene beyond most. Him getting screwed over in that Titans game is still one of the most heartbreaking things for me.
buffalo did Flutie dirty. Thank you for your support. Subscribe I have part 2 coming later today
If Shannon Sharpe started his career in 2004 he'd be the best TE ever
I think Dan Marino in this passing league era would be great and a still a hall of famer
@@wblake22 I agree. Thank you for the support
Shannon Sharp is the George Washington of the TE Mount Rushmore.
@@aaronsondag8347 thank you for the support ❤️. And why is he the George Washington 😂
Kordell Stewart.
great vid, you got my sub #onecloserto1K
Thank you ❤️
Peter Warrick. Enough said
mike vick
convince me otherwise
I agree
Thank you for the support ❤️. I got part 2 coming soon
You forgot to mention Burfict's dirty hit against Jack Doyal while at the Raiders. Burfict's career ended that day.
I disagree with the Flutie one. He got a chance to start and play an entire season, He was average. He might’ve been usable in the option game. He did finish with a winning record but I feel like he had alot of good situations more like Jimmy Garropolo in his career
The only era Burfict would of been apart of is before penalties were invented and were is the King? The King would of won at least 2 rings if he played in the 80s or 90s
So many players that you wonder what if. Brian Westbrook the RB for the Eagles would've thrived in today's game. Run stuffing massive LBs like Dont'a Hightower were about a decade too late. Even a WR like Percy Harvin or a QB like Donovan McNabb who were good in their time would've been utilized even better now.
Kyler Murray is 5’10 with heels on
😂😂😂😂. Thank you for the support ❤️
😂😭
Russell Wilson 5’11
Doesn’t matter for Flutie because he had a good career lol
I think Tavon Austin was with the right team, just a decade too late. I think if he was with the Greatest Show on Turf, Dick Vermil and Mike Martz would've used him effectively.
Doug flute if they would of started him immediately he could have been a hall of famer because his first couple season in and out of the NFL he was a backup in the NFL untill the bills but if the team that drafted him could have used him as a starter his game would have evolved more but he was a great player LITTERLY the only reason he was not a starter all because his size
Awesome video. You earned a subscriber.
Thank you ❤️
You skipped the most Obvious. Mr Vick.
Also Barry
I ain't watch the whole video yet but bo jackson and deion sanders better be on here
Sadly, no I will make a part 2 soon. Thank you for the support ❤️
Roquan wasn’t And ISNT a middle linebacker homie… weak side…get your facts straight before talk ish about my Bears
Burfict is the most hated player in the history of the AFC North.
Why? Because Bengals fans can’t stand him either.
Dude was just dirty
@@justjalen2700 Wasn’t so much that he was dirty. You did have a point that in previous eras, he wouldn’t have been AS bad. Issue was is that he’d lose his temper at the worst possible moments and played out of control. Ray Lewis played hard but he was always in control. Half of those fines Burfict got were on late or borderline late hits.
Don't pretend to speak for every Bengals fan. Did he go too far at times? Of course. But the perception that the Bengals could be pushed around was somewhat diminished when Burfict was around.
2 other west Virginia mountaineers you missed pat white noel divine

dick butkus could have played in this era , he would have been like ray lewis but meaner, hell he ran a 4.6 till he blew out his knees, he would have ran a 4.5 6-3 260, probley doin 40 or more reps of 225, also cliff branch wr for raiders could played in this era too, he would be just like tyreek hill, probley running a high 4.1 at nfl combine
Jerry Rice
Don Hutson
Austin would still be a bust
Doug Flutie was good, and Burfict was super dirty
Everyone had to adjust their defensive game not just Burfict. He was just a classless jerk everyone else got their stuff together and adjusted.
True
Tua shoulda been playing in the 1930s lmao 🤣 😂 😅 dolphins my team, I'm from Miami but we don't need tua, str8 up we don't need tua
Chill on tua 😂. Thank you for the support ❤️
@justjalen2700 lol I like him cause he my team but he gonna get tyreek hurt. That's his only target
