I always enjoy these knockoff doll unboxings. You do a good job of snide humor at their expense, while also giving credit where credit is due (i.e. the made-to-move knees, and "Elsa's" shiny jumpsuit).
I'll never forget this one time I bought a knockoff doll fashion pack. Got the items home and discovered that none of the items had velcro/snaps. There was no way to maneuver the fashions onto the doll, whether over their heads from the top, or past their hips from the bottom. The manufacturers literally just expected you to be able to snap your fingers and have the clothes magically appear on the doll. You could tell they had no idea whatsoever how playing with dolls goes - dressing dolls is Doll Play 101, and they failed miserably.
Lol. I'm assuming the clothes were just to add to a doll closet for the doll's viewing pleasure, but never be able to wear.
tbh, i really love when bootleg/fake dolls have articulations. yes, the materials and the accesories are really.... questionable but they're fun for kids anyway. i love, love, love when they come with extra shoes, tho!!!! you never have enough shoes!!

I’m pretty sure Encanto is actually set in the 50’s given the context clues and where Colombia was at technologically at the time.
But I cone wrong
Its set in the 1950s but the technology is Edwardian. The scene where Pedro is killed takes place during the War of 1000 days 1899 -1903. The technology is old because the village has been cut off from the rest of the country for 50 years.

I was in Colombia this summer. I noticed Jakks doesn't sell there and I don't think the disney store does either. So this Bootleg Mirabel is all they get. Which is kind of sad.
Also there is electricity in Encanto. Its just very limited since the village has been isolated from the rest of Colombia for 50 years so all of the technology is stuck in the Edwardian era.
@Avery Dolls I was in Medellin. They had Hasbro and Mattel products. But even after combing through the "rich" mall I never found anything from Jakks Pacific. (Nor MGA for that matter). So unless they were being sold in Bogota, I don't think the Encanto dolls are sold in Colombia at all. You can get any Disney princess, except Mirabel.
I really do appreciate the lil disclaimer at the beginning where you mention that no judgement if you buy them cuz of monetary reasons. Cuz on your first videos of this kind you were pretty harsh and I like seeing this development understanding that perhaps not everyone can afford even the most basic doll. Well done buddy. I love this Mirabel, she's hilarious 😆😆 But with no sarcasm.. the fake frozen dolls are really quite good! I think they could be great for customs, especially considering the double joint legs 🦵 And the last thing.. I truly adore your mani Joey 💅🏻💜

I enjoy this series. These are the cheap knock offs are amusing and sometimes unsettling. Those chopstick legs are always a laugh.
I have never seen this bad doll copies here in Germany.
I have got a Barbie fake doll but her legs, arms and whole body isn‘t that bad.
She has not much hair, too, it’s smelling a little bit and her clothes are also like paper.
In this case I think the doll isn‘t toxic, because she doesn‘t smell so extremely.
I have payed 3,00 € and for this money it‘s perfect.
She still looks good! 🙂👍
@@Gruenhaupt I think these are like reeeally underground bootlegs. Like the bootlegs I grew up with were not badly made dolls either. They generally had a 90s barbie face mold and body, thin hair, and ofc not the best face screening but generally pretty. I think he must get these bootlegs from aliexpress or other websites like this that are notorious for their awful knockoffs or his local dollar store (although i don’t think Ive ever seen such awful quality such as chopstick legs from a dollar store)

(they did that for Raya actually... only Raya. Who cares about Raya ?!) and that Disco sparkly suit... it's actually beautiful ? I totally imagine Elsa wearing that ! im not sure if this is up your alley but i recently went down a weird rabbit hole online specifically about bootleg sailor moon dolls to find one specific one i used to have as a kid. i guess alot of sailor moon 'dolls' are more like figurines but yea! there are so many crazy ones out there lol

Please when you read the box, read also the warnings and inspection marks! They are usually very telling on if the doll is only a fake licensing-vise, but if it's also fake as in not-legal-to-sell-because-it's-dangerous-to-children.

@@Crystal-nz8gb but almost all the dolls are so unsafe and it wouldn't be okay to donate to children. They have harmful chemicals and definitely not tested. But yeah some of the dolls outfits would be good to keep.
i buy fake dolls all the time if i can see the potential of getting nice clothes from looking at the packaging. if the clothes look questionable then i don’t buy it but sometimes i can find fake dolls with actual good quality clothes and those are great sources for finding barbie clothes in poor country like mine in southeast asia

Man, I used to own a lot of bootleg dolls, like cheap dolls with that "enjoy fashion happy girl" boxes, but they were so close to the original, no twig leg and arms, Its sad how they've cut a lot of budget by giving them proportions like that 😭 even my hallow plastic dolls did NOT look like that, they were just light af and have squeezable bodies

@@shirouwaI have a similar allergy, bought some dolls, monster high/90's barbies without the box, which were literally originals and in a too good to be true shape, could be fake reproductions/hand me downs or had toxic chemicals which my body reacted to innapropriately and guess what? after a few weeks I started feeling dizzy and disorientated around them, my blood pressure used to drop and I found it hard to breath along with a post nasel drip, they ended up giving me an allergy to even my original fashionista Barbies and all toys in general, this made me so miserable I cried, because I love dolls, now they are rotting in a box, I never figured out what kind of allergy I was suffering from, one conclusion was that I might have developed mast cell desease, because I also ended up getting allergic to perfume smells, felt etc later, my family was so insensitive to it and even bought me a new original Barbie extra doll which I'm keeping in her box..

Encanto is set somewhere in the early to mid 1900s so electricity did exist for them. The handheld hair dryer was invented in the 1920s. So if it’s set in the time people have thought maybe 1950s they would have had a hair dryer.

I wonder how these companies get away with using Disney likeness, let alone outright using their image with no modification (like with Mirabel).
