- At Montée des Légendes 218 we were able to see head to head the Naturally Aspirated 290Hp/9.500Rpm Peugeot 306 Maxi against its modern couterpart, the Turbocharged 308Hp/400Nm Peugeot 308 Racing Cup TCR built for Touring Car Racing.
Two very different archetypes, but having the same origin, it is very curious to watch how different they are and how a manufacturer like Peugeot had to deal with the limitations and focal points of contemporary Motorsports. It is now up to you, the viewer, to decide which one you prefer.

That 306 looks and sounds just incredible.
I remember when the Maxi kit car was beating the WRC spec cars on tarmac back in the day, and Colin McRae was so salty about it

Presumably the 308 is easier to use, with all its contemporary gizmos. But in every other respect... 306. Locking and lifting the inside back tyre alone is worth it! Many more smiles per mile than the youngster.

my first car and rookie ... 306 GTI fase2 167 6v (autodirectional rear axle) One pass in curves, with fat wheels and adjustable suspensions ... with 20 years almost of difference and there is no comparison with 308, (atmospheric vs turbo..and if 306 turbo ?? 220 / 240cv ???) uuuhhh I still cry his sale ..

The 308 is not the tcr version, because of the stats, this one has 310hp and tcr has 340, the bodykit is different and doesn't have that roof scoop

I used to own a 306. Not the Maxi of course. But i could pretend it was one, as i waited for roadside assistance when it broke down (and it did that A LOT!).

+EugVR6 Lighter and suspension similar to that in supertouring cars.Not to mention it's also powerful as well.
