I mean, did they expect the viewership to be knowledgeable of Yiddish but not Italian? When Luciano tells Meyer that Maseria hates your pretty face ("sheyn pnim"), again no subtitles.

This show is more accurate to history than I originally thought, before I read more on the period myself. Obviously Nucky is highly fictionalized but the references to Bill Lovett, Pegleg Lonergan, Brooklyn, Frank Uale's operations etc are all accurate little references. The only error among all this is that Rothstein got out of bootlegging very early but it's a pretty minor detail considering it fits the script, much like Nucky's dramatization and the fictional Rosetti
this show has like the best cast ever to play every single roll this is the real masterpiece of all the crime drama tv series of this century even better than Breaking bad , The Wire , Sons Of Anarchy , & Power!!!!!!
