I bought Assassin's Creed Valhalla Ultimate Edition on sale for $48. The Dawn of Ragnarok DLC which is sperate for $40 makes no sense. I'll probably get in on sale later this year.

@@Steezealways haven’t played DOR yet but from what I understand you have to hunt down the powers you want off of enemies everytime you wanna use them.. and you can only store 2 at a time I believe.. so basically you’ll get to a point where you might have to use a specific power to get past a area but you might not have that power equipped .. so you’ll have to go and hunt it down again..

I switched my region to play early this morning and honestly this takes the place of francia being the most boring expansion. It’s not bad, it’s just more of the same boring “go here, collect this, kill that” gameplay loop

After having finished Dawn of Ragnarok myself.
I personally had fun and enjoyed my experience pretty much the whole way through. I’ve always liked the mythical side of AC more than the non mythical side. including for odyssey.
But even though I enjoyed my exp and time playing Dawn of Ragnarok. I to felt disappointed. but my disappointment is more so towards that it was not as "grand" as I imagined it to be.
take a look at odysseys Atlantis DLC, everything about that DLC was "grand" big major spectacles since it was a true conclusion to the games story, DoR does not seem like an conclusion at all. more so an intro to more to come since its story revolves around the small aspect of getting his son back. at least small imo. another disappointment factor is, like in the main game mythical story line you explore 2 mythical realms asgard and jountheim. I was expecting to be able to have 2 or more new playable realms within DoR. Which would of added more from a story perspective. bouncing back to the name of the DLC. DoR. the only excuse i can give ubi for using this name, is if they intend to release idk 2 or 3 more mythical themed expansions for vahalla. because if that were to be the case then the name would make sense. (since this DLC would be simply the dawn of it and then later DLCs would actually be Ragnarok.)
but at least now, Dawn of "Ragnarok" Ragnarok was mentioned a small amount of times and had remotely 0 to do with Dawn of Ragnaroks story. so as it stands if there is no indication of more mythical expansions, to me it seems like the name was more so meant to be used to market it and not much more.
So all in all, a lot of my disappointment came from my own self hype, thinking that it was going to be as grand as the atlantis dlc, and wishing that they would of did more from a story perspective regarding DoR.

Oh man! I love how Assassins Creed attempts to always be historical (historical fiction) and tries to be realistic as much as possible……….19 seconds in people coming out of magma like it’s no big deal 🤦🏻‍♂️
This series is nothing like it use to be. In fact, I just finished playing Horizon Zero Dawn and it’s DLC and am so glad I didn’t spend any money on garbage like Assassins Creed and instead purchased Horizon Forbidden West and so far am loving it. Every time I play a new game I am always reminded and how well the motion capture is, the lip-syncing is great and the overall acting and emotion the characters have are fantastic. But when playing Assassins Creed, these aspects always seem to be missing in many ways. Ubisoft seems to always be making hollow games that look good on the surface but then most people are met with disappointment.

I wish Ubi took this concept and made it its own game instead of turning AC into this; they could have expanded so much into this mythical lore without being tied to the templars etc.

Oh yeah because it TOTALLY makes sense for a VIKING/GOD to be stealthy, why would Ubisoft EVER make a game where VIKINGS are ruthless loud barbarians? Because VIKINGS are totally stealthy, even Ragnar lodbrok was a stealthy assassin.

Should have just gave us game plus mode an hooded combat and just call it a day. Luckily DoR was gifted towhere I ain’t have to spend the money. The dlc was dry and poor the cinematic trailer really overhyped this. We do all that mess just for Baldr to die. On top of all that we’re only given 3 slots for powers, if we don’t like one we have to go find an enemy and switch it out. We have to buy the Odin outfit from the arena which is garbage, the only fun thing to do is to jump from great heights and turn into a raven mid fall. Dlc was a complete missed opportunity Origins and Odyssey shits on this.

If you like riding unicorns and flying horses only to go and "fight" burning "gods" then it's not horrible, basically it's a game for kids under 11 so yeah, nobody says you can't have fun,we just have our opinions you know.

  • @ADISTOD3MUS

It's just mind blowing how bad the games came out with each year.Origins and Odyssey really had lots if cool settings and the realism of those worlds, the enough complexity if the side missions was there, etc.but lately everything become a shit show with rushed story lines, ridiculously bad side missions and overexploited fantasy crap that nobody asked for. Just give me the pure Viking experience with normal horses (I am OK with riding the normal Deer too) instead of crappy childish adds to the series.Mounting unicorns or burning horses it's just pathetic when they should really focus on narrative quality and interesting side missions like the Witcher 3 for example does. Yes the Witcher 3 has fantasy elements in it but it's a Witcher game and the hole world it's based in unique beasts and Witcher contracts so you would expect that but this is a game about vikings not burning gods that spawn in lava swamps, this is just sad.

  • @hefeydd_
    @hefeydd_ 2 года назад +3

Okay, I want to emphasise something here. No 2 people will sit and watch a movie and have the same reaction. It is the same as no 2 people enjoying the expansion for AC Valhalla. I don't listen to any critics I always make my assumption and will decide on whether an expansion for a game is worthy of playing not somebody else criticising a game. Each to their own as they say. You can't please all and ignore those who don't like something because that is their assumption.

it was definitely a fun addition but personally I felt it drifted so far from the story of the Hidden Ones and AC in general that I wished Ubisoft had made this a separate title instead of a DLC for AC.
