So much to say here: 1) Brilliant spoof of "The Twilight Zone" 2) Nice tip to "The Wizard of Oz" 3) Could this have been the inspiration for "VeggieTales"? 4) WHAT WERE THEY SMOKING BACK THEN??!?
“Waldo and Filmore may lost their appetite, but you will not lose your chance to watch for the next adventures of ‘Hoppity Hooper’, that is, if you don’t enter the...’Traffic Zone’. Waldo: “Confound it! Enough with the Traffic Zone already!”
Great show! I was in diapers in 1964, so I don't remember it. Shame they didn't make more. According to IMDB, Rocky and Bullwinkle ran from 1959-1964 in various incarnations. They had more going on, but this show was Great!
I remember that this episode terrified me when I was a kid. I had nightmares about it, and I don't know why. I never realized it was a Jay Ward production. It's great to hear Hans Conried's voice again. He was a wonderful performer.
I remember watching these when I was a youngster. I laughed like a psycho then and I laugh even more now! 🤪 Cartoons were so funny back then. Now a days they just mimic humans and they are trying to sell you something. Just a hour long commercial.
Well first time seeing this show since what? 1968 or so? Looked for it once, no luck. Got it by chance today. So now I know my memory is not totally gone.
Nobody I know has even heard of Crusader Rabbit. Best I can figure, the show didn't air in Atlanta. Maybe someone on RUclips can scare up a few episodes.
If the quality of the sound and animation were better, that show would be on the top list of Adult Swim or something. More subtle than Aqua Force, etc.
My favorite, too. Patty Pate, if you're out there, We colored together in 2nd grade in the Hoppity Hooper coloring book, 1966, Colonial Hills Elementary, SA, TX. Life is good.

rants i have to say:
1) indeed
2) true
3) maybe or maybe not
4) nothing, they just need ideas to make this episode

I remember laughing so hard at this when I was a kid... it's nice to see it again.. love this series!! The avacado scene was my favorite!
I had just seen a list of the scariest "Twilight Zone" episodes, and now this hilarious parody. I wonder how Rod Serling liked it.
Excellent, I have not seen this episode in 50 years, I was starting to think that I imagined it. Thanks for posting.
This is my new favorite show.

At 8:00 is a nod to Bob Newhart and his old "telephone routines," I had read somewhere.
Hans Conreid, what a voice! And Bill Frees (Bullwinkle) as Fillmore Bear!
Brian Battles Bill Scott did the voice of Filmore Bear. Paul Frees does the narrating.
Chris Allen voiced Hoppity Hooper.
Bill Scott. Paul Frees was Boris Badenov, and the narrator here
Chris Allen is a actress
@@ayanarachel7975 Boy was I surprised when I found out Chris Allen was a Christine instead of a Christopher.:-)
I remember this episode the good old days Deputy dog Rough and Ready Top Cat Heckle and Jeckle Mighty Mouse
Did I detect a Frankenstein and Wizard of homage? Saw Paul Frees in the original "The Thing". It was odd seeing that voice coming out of a person.

What makes this episode such a classic is back then the Twilight Zone was a big success with Rod Sterling
Paul Frees did a good Rod Serling imitation.
11:55 *I love this part because of the animation and I have no idea why.*
I love the writing! "Plant me now, I'll dig you later!" HAHAHAHAHAHA!

Excellent-! This sure brings back memories-!
I ate some generic brand of 'Fruit Rings' cereal while watching this-! LOL

A nod to the Wizard of Oz
The vegetables… went on strike.
This cartoon was shown as part of “Uncle Waldo’s Cartoon Show” during the 1960’s.
At 10:50 to 11:37 is so very funny....Waldo's met all of them on the "Blue Plate Special". (lol)
5:50 just doing their table moving like a floor tom.
DreamWorks classics needs to remaster these forgotten Jay ward toons
Evapilot2112 They brought back Mr.Peabody & Sherman and Rocky & Bullwinkle
@@animationvigilante643 right but they should buy back hoppity hooper as well as crusader rabbit and remaster them
@@Armorhunterash I guess you got a point there...🙄And while they're at it,they should remaster Underdog as well...🐾

Is "Fillmore the Bear" the father of"Tim the Russian Bear" from "The Cleveland Show"??!!😮😅
If the quality of the sound and animation were better, that show would be on the top list of Adult Swim or something. More subtle than Aqua Force, etc.
Why does the first theme music sound like a circus band while the other theme sounds kinda like jazz??😮😅

And so for more fun and surprises with a side order of vegetable soup, tune in next time for the adventures of hoppity hooper
Weird if Total Television Productions made Hoppity Hooper
My favorite Hoppity episode. All were too funny. I have not seen this one in years. Kinda like this episode got lost in the Traffic Zone. :)
The hopping sound effect gets old real quick
5:54 For a while there I thought Waldo jumped into the Real World...😕
Further Funk!
