Thank you for sharing your restoration of this saw. Excellent video editing and camera work. I appreciate your attention to detail and clear explanation of how all the parts are disassembled and reassembled without ever having uttered a single word. Very clever and creative. I recently acquired an identical saw in almost pristine original condition. I'll keep your video to use as a reference when it's necessary to to work on my saw. Best and most useful video I've seen for how to do something.

Funny and interesting to see how that days 'engineers' made, compared to now. Its more like a engine inside a frame and saw, considering i have had to remove 1 cover for easy access to a issue i guess plagued people who had to use saws of that day. Having to split almost spløit the saw to access same parts.. Many odd solutions, that i guess they could have avoided if they tough of some of the things seen in todays chainsaws. Use frame as a part of the engine, and make parts prone to error acceptable with a cover. Not using flat head screws as main go to, even if they can be a sob when stuck. I hate those when used in odd areas to this day, prone to get stuck because of corrosion when there are better alternatives.. Might add, i have no idea how many things are oem, saw seems to been used over the years before ending up here. :P
What is this saw specs, like weight? And how much did it cost to fix this one? Just curious

I have one question that is not answered by the video.
When you reassembled the case halves (cylinder to case at the 24:45 mark), what sealant did you use? Also, did you apply sealant around the outside of the bearings and seals before putting the two halves together? The video does not show application of the sealant.
Thanks so much for making the most complete Stihl 015 video on RUclips!

Where did you purchase the fuel line? I have an old white colored 015 and the new style lines with the 90-degree angle are too short from the grommet to the carb.

You're missing the chain guides, it's 2 metal plates that goes on each sides of the chain.

Restoration actually means the restoration of the original condition, which has been lost in the course of time.
Not even the paintwork has been renewed, not to mention the cracks and chipping on the case.
By disassembling, cleaning (without screws and chain) and reassembling with brand new spare parts from the manufacturer, one can perhaps speak of a repair.
Using only screwdrivers and flat-nose pliers is unprofessional.
