@@omerozturk1425 andy spoke in an interview about it. This was meant to be the “swan song” of BVB. the lyrics in the chorus refer to him trying to be able to make things work with Ashley, and they just didnt. They were going to break up after this album, but instead they kicked Ashley Purdy out and replaced him and thus, BVB continued
It was really sad hearing this song knowing it was supposed to be the last black veil brides song ever. I'm so glad their making a new record and going on tour this year
Watching or listening to this song after watching disk dive for vale makes me almost cry every time. I am so glad it was not the end and that they are healthier and happier then ever.
The Following is an excerpt from Andy's autobiography They Don't Need to Understand: Stories of Hope, Fear, Love, Life, and Never Giving In: "Vale was an endpoint. Conclusions by nature are dramatic. In even the most objective of senses, it was clear to me that we'd arrived at the perfect moment to draw the story arc we'd written across four albums to a dramatic conclusion on the fifth. The future was unwritten. Whatever followed in the wake of Vale would be a brand-new chapter. Less than a week after we completed The Shadow Side, Jake and Jinxx said they were ready to get started on the next Black Veil Brides record. We began work on what would become Vale before I'd even started to tour behind The Shadow Side. At the time, I felt like Vale would be the final Black Veil Brides album. I never said that publicly, but it certainly could have ended up that way. It's like a TV show that may or may not get renewed; I didn't want to leave things with a cliffhanger. If the band could continue past album five, great, but if not, I tried to wrap it up with a strong sendoff. The last song on the record, Vale (This Is Where It Ends), was my goodbye to this thing that I poured my heart and soul into since before I learned to drive a car. It will always be challenging to listen to for me. The first time I played it for my parents, I cried. I had written it, performed it, and recorded it, yet hearing it back with my parents in the car, I wept. The whole idea that Black Veil Brides might end broke my heart. Some elements felt like immovable objects that we couldn't get past. So, it had to stop. It was heartbreaking, it was terrible, but I didn't see any other way around it at the time. The songs are very personal to me. I was fully committed to sobriety. I struggled to remember the mistakes I may have made when I was drinking myself into oblivion. I felt delicate, fragile. Overall, Vale was really about saying goodbye."
