This is my fourth model built, previously did Tamiya’s Panther A, Pz. II and Matilda III/IV. All with the one piece rubbery tracks. I gave up with the tracks on this and think I will order a set of metal tracks if I can find some. Thank for the video buddy, been watching you since before I started and you’ve inspired me to pick up a new hobby. Keep it up! ❤

Hey Jason, your new camera is incredible - I accidentally watched in 720p and didn't notice it at all, the image is that clear and sharp 🙂

So i have both of these Tamiya kits as well as the Academy kit. I started with motorcycles and their associated figures. I'm very impressed with Academy's motorcycle and sidecar. It has a lot of little detail parts. But looking at photos of real motorcycles I thought it stands up very well. Just started painting the engines.
Great video, enjoyed your solution fir fixing the decal issue.
    Thank you.

Looking good. For decals I put some of the setting fluid on the model and put the decal on top of it. If there is too much fluid to accurately position the decal I use the corner of a paper tissue to suck up the fluid. I then use a cotton bud dampened with softener fluid to roll over the decal to bed it down. I don't rub the decal as it will pull when softening. This technique works well on instrument panels.

    Hi. Thanks for the vid.
Comparing the Tamiya and Academy Motorbikes kits I'd have to give Academy the edge.
The Tamiya wheel hubs look star shaped as there is no gap between the crossing spokes whereas Academy's look more realistic.
(Both versions spokes are too thick, PE would have been nice in both kits).
Academy moulds the cylinder head and cylinder block separately as single pieces (like the real thing) - no longitudinal join seam like Tamiya.
Also Academy had made the one piece tyres separate from the rims. Nicer for painting.
Academy also gives you 5 schemes for the Panzer I.
However, Tamiya does gives you clear parts for the headlights and Academy's are solid plastic.
I think Academy, while already making nice kits, have really upped their game with their latest releases.
And I do like Academy's new box art.
The picture takes up the whole box top with a faint Academy logo in the corner. Great for cutting out and sticking up on the wall.
I look forward to the build comparison of the three Panzer Is (and the bikes).
(And I agree, the new iPhone cameras are the bomb. I have a 15 pro max and the pictures/zoom are very impressive. My skin looks horrible!!! 😁)
    Cheers Matt 🦘

For decals that go over the side of a part (like that numberplate), i usually very carefully melt the edge of the film back with a little bit of extra thin cement - works a treat.

That panzer grey looks very dark? I usually use tamiya which looks lighter!

It was quite dark in reality but yes the Tamiya shade is nice for a lighter finish

You obviously have a very high standard for your model making but as you point out, everyone else will view your models through the naked eye!🙂

I usually use Gunship Gray from Testurs.

CSM where do you get the paint scheme with brown patches on the Pz I?
