Once I start watching and listening to Dawns music, I can't help but get caught up and I have to continue listening and watching her videos until, there is no more music to hear. Anybody else do that?
I really appreciate not only the amazingly well-constructed, ethereal, hard-hitting and honest album 'Blackheart' but the hard work you have put into constructing your own unique sound. It's hard to even believe that Dawn is independent - that literally her and another producer created such incredible music without the backing of a record label. It's really life-affirming to know that you can achieve your dreams without some giant corporation behind you. That you can create your own visions and masterpieces without all the politics that seem to be involved when it's through these money-hungry businesses. Damn if Dawn isn't inspiring on all types of levels. #BLACKHEART

The media likes to try to focus on things that don't matter, like surgeries & other bs, but the fact that this woman, this great, artistic & driven woman can write music, create these awesome visuals, have an actual message in her lyrics & no label to back her & yet STILL can accomplish these great things is more than amazing, its down right phenomenal!! The artistry that is Dawn, will start a movement all over the world that showcases the ability to go against the grain & make it!!. She's always showcasing her talent in an avant-garde way, but more importantly, her passion and love always are at the forefront of every song, visual, etc. "Choices" was a great choice for a video as well, because its conscious and triumphant approach balances out the mainstream-accesibilty and hardness of "Blow", the EDM influence and metaphoric masterpiece that is "Tide: The Paradox Effect". She is my favorite artist for a reason. She's not afraid to take risks, and create music with substance and depth, but venture into a sonic realm all her own. Kudos Dawn, kudos.

The projection of the lyrics added a more theatrical approach to the already vulnerable song. In life, we will face crossroads where we have to choose between ourselves over another. I love this song because Dawn constantly put herself on the line placing the needs of others above her. And this is her final decision. Sometimes, it's best to walk away and show love by separating than continue on being in existence, to grow resenting and even more destructive.

This is genre smashing, and years ahead of its time. For me, that's the mark of genius, that's what defines a masterpiece. Other factors: does it seem shorter than it is because you don't want it to end? Do you feel better after experiencing it? Does it give you goosebumps? Fuk yeah to all of the above.
