- We absolutely LOVE stick shift racing, but who doesn’t? At SCT Charlotte, the stick shift class had some really awesome cars. SO AWESOME that we decided to make a video dedicated to that class! Unfortunately some of our favorite cars may only made a pass or less, but we still anted to spread the love. Some of the craziness in this class included a Procharged C5 Vette that is shooting of the GM manual record, a 2JZ 240sx that means business, a turbo ls 240z, a monstrous Cadillac CTS that spits flamed like none other, and more! Thank you to everyone who brought their cars out to race, those who came to spectate, and every single one of you for watching!

You’ve got to be kidding me he’s the most inconsistent racer I have seen! After he ran his first 7 they started bragging about installing bigger turbos and how much faster they were going to be, But no 7! Then they installed another Texas Speed engine with even more HP! After he ran his first 7 they modified his car a few times drastically increasing the HP each time, So you tell me why it took him so long to run another seven! It was one excuse after another, The car didn’t launch right, it didn’t shift right, the tires spun, The engine bogged! He has had more excuses than anyone I have ever known! Every excuse alway had something to do with the car which only made him look like a total idiot! For those of you who do not race here is a little secret, Cars do not drive themselves there is always a person behind the wheel controlling it! If you do not believe me go back and look at some of his videos just before he ran his first 7! That is why I stopped watching his vids, If there is one thing that really bothers me it is a person that cannot take responsibility!

thats why my line locks a push button on the steering wheel....once im lined up and on the 2 step i press the brake lightly and it holds me there. Let go of the button as you launch.

This right here is REAL drag racing. Autos are a test of the vehicles performance and the launch control system. Manual, you gotta launch it perfectly right, shift through each gear perfectly and quickly, AND if youre in a more high powered and especially RWD car, deal with the possibility of wheel slip between each violently aggressive shift. Thats a test of the driver almost as much, if not more, than the car itself. We can all hold a steering wheel straight and mash a pedal but these guys are truly skilled

I love a manual backed high HP LSX. It just brings me back to the feeling of my young racer days. I had a LS1 WS6 with SLP lid, ported LS6 intake, ported 243 heads, TSP cam package and a 6 speed and thought it was a rocket ship back then. But now days when I get behind one with real power it takes me back to that car. The 2J 240 makes me depressed though; we built a 91 240 for highway play with left over parts and ended up with a 5.3 with 6.0 heads, LS9 cam, LS7 lifters, PTE 7675 Gen 1 with an eBay air 2 air setup on E85 on Holley EFI. It runs a mostly stock Viper spec T56 and is a total blast but seeing this one makes me wish we had just gone 2J and. Bigger turbo. :(

man i gotta give respect where its due and that guy in the gt500 is a really good driver am not gonna lie and come on guy lets be honest we all saw that sn-95 was gonna win from the start going against that boat of a mopar LOL but frfr all of them we good races and respect to all the drivers that raced their hearts out you love to see it

Those GT500s have been putting in work over the years too. They were the first really to start putting factory untouched setups into the 9s and 8s in the mid 2000s. When the 07-08 GT500s started coming into the shop we were getting customers into the 9.90s on their stock blowers and 6 speeds And did a few turbo conversions making over 1000rw hp and tq and going into the 8's with a stock 100% untouched longblock and auto trans. You didn't see that kind of power from stock engines much back then. Those were The 5.4 DOHC setups. The switch to the 5.8 Trinity in newer GT500s wasn't the best; we see them fail at sub 900 hp with just bolt ons and pulley on the stock blower. L&M race engines does an amazing job with building newer Ford blocks though so there's options. Diamond pistons seem to be just the ticket for a late model Ford build as well. Their Coyote slugs are top notch.

Wow that was exciting I love manual transmission as there is skill involvement and 1 more driving aspect over an automatic car. All runs looked great 👍🏻
