    The best step-by-step video on this subject. For those who did not fully understand the process, there is nothing wrong in looking at it a couple more times. I used this video and made o 750 ml bottle of pure cold press virgin coconut oil. Never knew it was sooooo easy to do. I’ve decided to use no other oils but coconut oil in all my cooking. Thanks for your very informative video.

    Last week was my first time on trying to make my own coconut oil, since I’m a consumer of this product. The video I followed gave instructions to leave the milk unrefrigerated (untouched) out on room temperature for 48 hra. So I did. Result: over fermented curd and about 1% oil…disaster.
    I WILL follow your video and make it right this time. Thank you again!

    Thank you for your message. In Martinique, we say that everything is good in a coconut tree. I don't know for Its roots. You can use the black peel to avoid worms for children. You can find many candies made with dry coconuts. There's always cane sugar, green lemon peel, cinnamon, vanilla and bitter almond essence.

    U can also directly heat from fresh coconut milk until all water evaporates and the curd blackened (dark brown granulated). This type of oil smell so good, nice for massage, frying egg for breakfast while the granulated curd (as not fermented and fresh ) also tasty, it's taste sweet savory and smell god damn good.
    *Don't forget to stir it all the time to avoid burning and use low to medium heat

      In the case of cold pressed VCO, you should keep this in refrigerator, because once the coconut milk fermented, it's starts spoiling in normal room temperature that's why it should be keep in refrigerator. If you are in cold country can be keep it in room temperature below 5°C or in a Ice box but should maintain temperature.

      If you want to keep VCO in room temperature you should dry your VCO first. Keep your VCO under hot sun for 3 to 4 days to remove (evaporate) all water from it.
      If you can keep it in refrigerator, that is the better way.

    As concerns the water you get after breaking the coconuts, you can drink it. It's sweet and delicious. You can leave it in the fridge. When the weather is hot, it's a really refreshing juice. For the left over after pressing the virgin oil. You mix it with cane sugar, grinded cinnamon,grated green lemon peel, a little vanilla essence or vanilla stick. On a low fire, you turn until the sugar melts. Never stop stirring. After 30 to 45 mn, you get a delicious light powder. Children love that and adults too. We call it "farine coco" in Martinique. We make all sorts of desserts with coconuts: candies , ice creams, cakes, crème brûlée, coconut punch with white rum at Christmas and also salted recipes. Bye

      Thank you for watching our video,
      It happens due to unmatured Coconuts or tender coconut verities. Always choose good Coconuts for oil making.
      You can check your Coconut by eating. If you get a good aroma, creamy taste and thick milk when you chewing the coconut that means it's matured and ready to use. It's water will be very strong taste the punch of toddy - the Palm wine.
      You didn't mentioned here the quantity you took. Take minimum 3 Coconuts.
      Try once again with good and matured Coconuts.
      You did the process correctly. Once you melted the crushed curds, just mix once and keep it for clearing. If you do it fast, keep the melted oil bowl in hot water filled bowl or plate for few minutes. Then wait for clearing the oil, then you can see the separated Oil and curd. Rest as shown in our video.

I then removed the solidified oil and curd, placed into a serately bowl to cool down in room temp for 6 to 8 hours. I didn't get the desired outcome as illustrated, but was able to salvage about 100g of oil. Is there anything I should have done differently? It's my 1st attempt.. Thanx again

      @FoodiesWok  Год назад

      Thank you for watching our video,
      there are two types of Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) we can make at home. One is Cold Pressed (CVCO) and other one is Heat Pressed (HVCO) (HVCO video also uploaded in our channel). the quality of both the VCO are almost same, Scientific research report of a team of Scientists published in a website link is given in description box. please read it for more details.
      Use of CVCO and HVCO :
      for internal or medicinal use, CVCO is the best one. CVCO is not recommended for use as a hair oil, because some percentage of moister may contain in CVCO and it will be cause to getting cold for some people. but for baby massage (except head) CVCO is better and it works and cures baby rashes very effectively. HVCO is best for use as a internal as well as external. its a good massage oil for all ages and works better as hair oil.

      @FoodiesWok  2 года назад +1

      Thank you for watching our video,
      Of course you can use it.
      Reasons for smell change.
      1) When you taking out from refrigerator for separation or melting the VCO, don't keep more time in room temperature.
      2) Once VCO is done keep it in refrigerator immediately. Or you should dry your VCO. Because it's a Cold pressed oil. moisture will be in present in your VCO.
      For drying your VCO : keep under Hot Sun ☀️ for 3 days(only when sunlight is very hot, 6 to 8 hours daily).
      You can dry your VCO on Stove also.
      Take some water in a vessel and place your VCO in a other vessel which can easily place in big vessel. Then start heating. Do not boil the water. Keep your stove in lower heat which can maintain the water temperature. It will take too much time to dry the VCO. That's why we are not recommend this process.
      Note : do not use this VCO directly for head massage or hair care because of the moisture present in VCO. Heat your VCO little before using it on your head.

    Good day mam what is the diffirent of your VCO to the fractionated coconut oil?

    • @FoodiesWok
      @FoodiesWok  3 года назад +1

      Thank you for watching our video,
      Virgin coconut oil is less processed so it maintains lauric acid and other long-chain fatty acids. Fractionated coconut oil stays liquid in form, even in lower temperatures. Fractionated coconut oil is less likely to clog pores or cause breakouts. Fractionated coconut oil is more easily absorbed by the skin.
      Use of both oil is quite different.
      Intake of fractionated coconut oil is using for dieting purpose and burn calories from your body.
      VCO you can make at your home and fractionated coconut oil is making at factory. The making of fractionated coconut oil is complicated and it's very costly also.
