He definitely feels like a final boss. The arena, his moveset and his importance in the lore suggest that. He also happens to be a massive skill check. Pontiff rework and Archdruid Caimar are actually the two most amazing and crazy things this mod add. They are a clever use of Sekiro's moveset (Ishin and Owl) so that they are actually fitting DS3 gameplay, despite the great differences of mechanics the two games have. And that's incredible. I hope they'll do other new boss fight with unique gameplay, though I hope they won't "delete" too much good boss fights from the original game. A bit like they did with SoC 2nd phase, imo it's not that great (it doesn't fit the boss, it would have been better on a new boss or mini boss). The little change to Gael though is kinda cool, I really like it (the triple blue lightning spear spell). It ain't much, but it works well! This mod is more than promising.
@@spartanhexus6759 Sir Alone or any samourai they want to create, it would be fitting very well I think. Though for SoC, it's a bit more than a story of soundrack imo. Despite the new phase being good (It's Ishin after all), it has less variety in moveset than SoC phase 2 had. And I feel like the boss is just having "something less" rather than "something new". Having some of these Ishin attacks with the original SoC phase 2 moveset is, on an other hand, a good idea. Some moves from Ishin works extremely well on SoC, like when he hit the ground with his feet, releasing a shockwave, before creating huge line of flames. And even in the idea of the mod, the SoC is supposed to be a God made out of every people that linked the flame. With the variety introduced in this mod in term of spells and moveset, it's kinda weird to have the final phase of the final boss being a samurai guy with 5 different attacks. But it's just my opinion over it, the job behind it remains incredible!
i also loved the headless knight. i got kicked off the stage because he pulled a combo. felt like i was fighting a siegfried from soul cal in that regard
Yeah, I agree. The fact they replaced the phase where SoC used Gwyn's moveset with Isshin's makes zero sense. Kinda ruins the whole point of SoC's existence imo.
