People complain when games recycle assets and i don't get why, I think it's cool because you get to view those assets from a different perspective, I think the problem is when they charge more money than they should for something they've just thrown together
The problem with the wolf was you got all of it's powers right from the start, and never added anything to it, where as the human form got a new item every dungeon. Story wise the wolf form starts out as a curse and ends up being your advantage against Ganon, but gameplay wise it starts out as a cool new form and is later only used as an inconvenient punishment for missing jumps and such. You barely even use it in the last fight of the game.
Yeah. Plus, personally I don't think it was a good thing for a Zelda-game anyways. I mean, in a Zelda-Game, I want to play as a Swordsman, not a beast. This may be just me, but I prefer a Zelda's Game's primary combat system to be swordfighting. Not to mention Wolf Link's combat system didn't feel fully-fledged out. I could never hit anything with the normal swipes. So I just spammed the Jump-Attack (Z+A) all the time, whenever I am forced to play as Wolf.
While I didn't mind the wolf at all, you make a good point there. I now wonder what the game would've been like if you had to progress as a wolf as well as a human.
A lot of people don't seem to like this game. I used to play it all the time with my family, to the point where my non-gamer dad knew all the secret areas and my anti-videogames mom was as into it as she was with Rockband. I freaking love this game. Plus, the later levels totally get better, and getting platinum medals there is extremely rewarding.
TriforceWisdom64 Your username is effing awesome. I need a better name. What do you think about "RocketPropelledEwing"? It's a pun on my initials, R.P.E.
I love how the third level is so easy, you can get the platinum score three times over just with just the balloon game, most fun I've had from this game as it's just a test of pure quick shooting and combo skills
Here I am saying Phantom Hourglass is my favorite Zelda Game... Can you guys keep playing this game? It's pretty short, and there are some pretty cool bosses later on!
My first was Links Crossbow Training! XD My real first was Wind Waker, and it's... Okay... I like sailing, but the dungeons bore me, and I have to clear the dungeons to find items to keep sailing. I didn't like Ocarina of Time, I got too lost in Link to The Past, and Tri-force heroes and Hyrule Warriors were fun, but I didn't play for too long. (Didn't like Warriors Zelda 1 mode, and didn't like heroes Multiplayer mode) I got Phantom Hourglass for Christmas, and I was like "Oh great, I'm not looking forward to this game..." I couldn't get enough of it! The sailing was extremely fun, the dungeons were actually really fun! I love it so much... Then I found out it was the most hated Zelda game... of course. I always seem to like the more hated games in a community. Sticker star is my favorite Paper Mario game, Mario Party 8 is my favorite Mario Party game, and I prefer the sonic games on the DS to the concil releases... So... I'm glad to see that there are others who really like Phantom Hourglass! (Even if the Hourglass itself is like, the most annoying item XD)
(Love your user name by the way) Yeah, but even today, whenever I really, REALLY like a game, 9 times out of 10 I find out that the rest of the community hates it.
They're all really cool- I actually never finished the game. I got stuck in the palace of twilight, and never picked it up again. I love the aesthetics, concepts, and all the puzzles, but I feel like the dungeons were really hard, and the bosses were too easy.
I think my favorite is the ice mansion with the Yeti couple. I think it's called Snowpoint Temple? It's been a while since I played Twilight Princess; I picked it up during Black Friday and I just started replaying it.
A few tips since I actually have this game: You can press and hold the b button to charge an explosive shot that hits multiple targets and does more damage. When the crossbow is glowing green, you can hold the b button to rapid fire. Try to shoot the targets that have higher score values to them as late as possible so that the combo multiplier is higher. You can shoot the body of the scarecrows to make the head grow, making it worth more points. As long as you hit something that has a score to it, you will not lose your combo. Only shots that don't add to your score will break the combo.
If you're not using the zapper, it can feel a lot less precise. It's like shooting a pistol at a range vs. shooting a rifle. Even if it's bulkier, you'll be more accurate with a rifle.
I used to absolutely love this game! My first Zelda was TP, and Crossbow Training ate up hours of my time. I'm so glad that they are playing it after years of Zelda month, and I feel like PB and Jeff is a great format for this! I really hope this miniseries continues, and that they fight Stallord.
I like how in the desert level PBG was freaking out at some point but Jeff was just calmly talking about other Zelda games in the series and franchise lol..
I remember Jontron once joked about Shigeru Miyamoto making Legend of Zelda: Modern Warfare. This looked like it was getting close at times to being a kind of Legend of Zelda: Modern Warfare. Edit: 6:32 WHAT THE FUCK NINTENDO! Bad enough that I had to wrestle an old Goron with highly detailed man nipples in Twilight Princess but now you go and make targets that are like fig leafs on them AND YOU HAVE TO SHOOT THEM OFF!
I like how this channel keeps up variety in its posts. Having one or two long series going, yet sprinkling in other things here and there to keep things from getting repetitive.
Not gonna lie I got really into this game and I loved it. There's tons of hidden stuff everywhere too. And on certain stages if you go through the targets fast enough bonus/secret places even appear with the extra time left on the clock. It's easily addictive if you're a sucker for trying to get at perfect scores.
For the record, I don't hate the ds zelda titles. I love them! Spirit tracks was the zelda game that introduced me to the series. The flute part is just a minor problem for me. Overall it is my second favorite game, after windwaker.
I remember my dad brought this home one day and we sat and played the game. By the time I stopped playing the game altogetger, I knew all the secrets and had platinum medals on every level. My favorite level was the Temple Of Time: Ranger. I hadn't played TP when I got this game, so when I finally played it, I recognized the areas from stages in this game.
I actually prefer the Wii version over the GC version. The waggle is mindless, sure, but I find it really fun. And aiming is obviously much better on the Wii. It's also probably because I beat the game 3 times on the Wii before I played the GC version, so I was way too used to the orientation of the world
I keep forgetting that this game exists, because nobody ever talks about it. I'm so happy that you played it because this is honestly the first time I've seen it played, even though I've known about it since it was announced. Might be a good idea for a future Zelda Month video? Unless you can't think of enough material for it.
The pieces of hearts found in each level and the fact you and progress levels faster for destroying targets quickly to get to bonus areas at the end makes this silly game have quite a bit of depth
Yeah I've never had an issue with motion controls in TP or SS. It felt more immersive when using the items because they feel like an extension of the player rather than just pressing a button. I'm also fine with the touch screen Zeldas and games like Metroid Prime Hunters/Kid Icarus Uprising that use it to aim around but not for long play sessions. In the DS Zelda games, using items like the boomerang to aim around corners and use it to hit a fire torch, then put out a block of ice and then hit a switch was always one of the cool ways the touch screen felt satisfying in those games. I also remember putting notes on the map to help solve puzzles and figure things was interesting.
Jacob Bernardi Me too :) this was one of the few multi player wii games we had that was easy enough for my grandpa to play so I have a lot of found memories of it
Jacob Bernardi me two, I had the crossbow remote accessory and used to battle my friends at this game after school. I got more out of it then a lot of more expensive games.
Yet there is more content than PBG and Jeff seemed to realize. Basically you need to shoot almost everything that is an in game object (jars, scarecrows and stuff) in addition to the targets and enemies. There are even branching paths!
I was given a Wii Zapper for Christmas a few years back, when it was new, and this game came with it. It's cheap entertainment, sure, but that didn't stop me from squandering that entire afternoon shooting for high medals. No regrets.
They were mentioning the immersion into Twilight Princess with music ques and sure Twilight Princess does have some really good ones. The perfect example, in my opinion, was when you were fighting Phantom Gannon for the first time on The Wind Waker. The way that the music would change based on how you were fighting was amazing. Like when you get hit during a "ping pong" event the music soothed into a dark and evil tune where as when you win the bout the music lets you know that you're a badass lol.
Pro Tip :) If you hold down the trigger you can get bomb arrows. Also the green enemies give you rapid fire- hold down the trigger to activate it. Also, you can shoot the scarecrows multiple times (up to 8) if you shoot the body before the head.
To answer PBG's question, Yes, Nintendo did do a Duck Hunt thing with the wii pointer - namely, they reworked the virtual console release of Duck Hunt to utilize the wii pointer.
PBG, I love you! Arbiters Grounds is the best dungeon in Zelda ever! I play the game like crazy to get to that dungeon and I finish it and i am filled with sadness because it is over...Then I remember that the City in the Clouds is coming up fast and I want to quit.
I actually enjoy this game. There's are two things to do to maximize your score: 1.) Prioritize keeping your combo (a lot of small scores can add-up faster than a few large scores), and 2.) Save gold targets and red skulls for last, whenever possible (but don't sacrifice your combo to go after them).
It kind of stinks that this doesn't have an HD remake alongside TP. Then again, TP does do well by having both the GameCube and Wii map, having three difficulties (normal, and Hero Mode with or without Ganondorf) and having a second challenge area.
I personally liked how in Skyward Sword the areas before the dungeon are like an outdoor mini dungeon. There was a little too much required side tracking, which happens to be the same issue I had with Oracle of Ages.
Nothing like playing the fruit balloons stage at 2am with your best friend and hitting that laughing gas stage of tired where this is literally the most amusing thing to ever exist. All we have to do now years later is say fruit balloons and there's instant death from laughter
I always feel more immersed in Zelda games with motion control. The problem people have I feel is that you have to hold the wiimote precisely. Which ever way you turn it is exactly how the sword will on screen. So if you don't swing it the right direction, it won't do what you want it too. Also if you notice the Switch controller. When it detaches from the screen, it looks like a wiimote and nunchuck. This gets me excited for the BotW port!
If you guys ever return to this, you can hold b to do a bomb arrow; also when you defeat a green enemy you can hold b to rapid fire shots (ammo below)...though I don't expect this to be remembered.
My family and I have a couple collective DAYS on this game! My siblings and I were home schooled, so our days were mostly occupied by playing this instead of working. Best part is, playing this game was my mother's idea
0:31 I bought a Wii Zapper just so I could play this... lol 0:53 Why so many Links with the same color? 2:11 Considering it came out way after Twilight Princess I doubt that it helped it's sales much if at all. 2:48 *Sigh* NO! 5:46 You have a radar PBG. You had 1 enemy left :P 14:09 Are you really feeling it? 15:45 Dang.
Twilight princess was my very first Zelda game, tbh its still my favorite, even as different as it is to most of its predecessors. Re-playing it recently as an adult I can definitely see why I loved it so much as a kid.
I platum metalled this game. it is totally worth playing all the way through if you loved playing twilight princess. pro tip, it is really important to keep your combo up so don't shoot unless your sure you'll hit. also, hold down the trigger to charge up a bomb arrow.
I liked the toch screen controls in the ds Zelda games. It was like you were saying with the motion controls in TP, you got to "RRU-RRU" and swing you sword around every were. It was kind of emersive.
The best part of the motion controls on the wii for twilight princess was that you could use your bow and steer your horse at the same time. I'd be fine if there was just a game where you ride around in hyrule field shooting stuff.
Joel Chowdhury splatoon absolutely sold me on motion controls. they can be used for better stuff then waggling. splatoon used motion to emulate a mouse and has some of the tightest aiming controls because of it
People complain when games recycle assets and i don't get why, I think it's cool because you get to view those assets from a different perspective, I think the problem is when they charge more money than they should for something they've just thrown together
Shout outs to Majora's Mask reusing everything from Ocarina of Time...
Characters. They reused characters.
check out the DYKG vid on Majora's Mask, that have information about its development and why did they used old assets and characters.

While I didn't mind the wolf at all, you make a good point there. I now wonder what the game would've been like if you had to progress as a wolf as well as a human.
Paragon Yoshi Spam the jump attack is how EVERYBODY uses him.
I mean that in a funny way not a "you're not original" way because it is so true.
I kind of worded that weirdly. Sorry.
TriforceWisdom64 my parents who hated video games loved zelda
Agreed. There was something about finally achieving platinum in all nine levels that is incredibly rewarding, as you said.
TriforceWisdom64 Your username is effing awesome. I need a better name. What do you think about "RocketPropelledEwing"? It's a pun on my initials, R.P.E.

LittleAmaterasu thats kind of like how i played Sonic 06 when i was younger and like it for no reason
(Love your user name by the way) Yeah, but even today, whenever I really, REALLY like a game, 9 times out of 10 I find out that the rest of the community hates it.
Love Okami, i'm on NG+++ on PS2
Twilight Princess has all the best dungeons. It's hard to pick a favorite.
Ikr
I hated twilight princess dungeons as a kid .
They're all really cool- I actually never finished the game. I got stuck in the palace of twilight, and never picked it up again. I love the aesthetics, concepts, and all the puzzles, but I feel like the dungeons were really hard, and the bosses were too easy.

Umm... question... What are the Gorons using to hold the targets? o.O
Stomach straps?
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
GabMatam TheGuy Cause they're rock hard
+The Great Majora rock hard pussi
clit
Finally a good Zelda game
Most Zelda games are really good TP is my fav, but what do you mean "finally"?
Amun Anubis TP is my favorite too, and I have no idea why people think it is bad. It's AWESOME!!!
Finally? this game was released with the original wii.
No one realizes the sarcasm...
Do these people have no brain.
Sweet! I own this game, so I'm hyped to see how they do in this episode!
Yep. :P
Connor XYZ It's pretty fun I tried to hit the world record for one stage wasn't that far off tbh
Enemies Left: 1, clearly marked on the radar. "I don't really know what I'm supposed to be doing now"
I don’t think I ever rewatched this video so this felt like a genuine new video to me. Miss you guys
Never thought I'd see a PB&Jeff video of this game
I used to absolutely love this game! My first Zelda was TP, and Crossbow Training ate up hours of my time. I'm so glad that they are playing it after years of Zelda month, and I feel like PB and Jeff is a great format for this! I really hope this miniseries continues, and that they fight Stallord.
Dammit guys! HOLD B TO SHOOT BOMB ARROWS!
SHOOT THE SCARECROW'S CHESTS TILL THE HEAD GETS BIG THEN SHOOT IT TO GO TO SECRET AREAS!!!!
this game seriously needs an ingame tutorial
Ben Wagner They wouldn't have used it even if it did exist, though.
Forget that hold B while the crossbows green to shoot rapidly
I would love to see them play more of this!
I like how in the desert level PBG was freaking out at some point but Jeff was just calmly talking about other Zelda games in the series and franchise lol..
This made me dig this up and find the attachment for it and start playing it again. I lived with this thing
I remember Jontron once joked about Shigeru Miyamoto making Legend of Zelda: Modern Warfare.
This looked like it was getting close at times to being a kind of Legend of Zelda: Modern Warfare.

I like how this channel keeps up variety in its posts. Having one or two long series going, yet sprinkling in other things here and there to keep things from getting repetitive.
Got this for super cheap with the controller adaptor thing and had a blast with it. Was surprisingly good for a spin-off title.
Not gonna lie I got really into this game and I loved it. There's tons of hidden stuff everywhere too. And on certain stages if you go through the targets fast enough bonus/secret places even appear with the extra time left on the clock. It's easily addictive if you're a sucker for trying to get at perfect scores.
so this is the new Battlefield everyone is raving about?
I was obsessed with this game when it came out. You guys should definitely play through the rest! There's even a boss at the end of the final level.
You guys should totally finish this game, there's a lot of cool levels and secrets in this game, and even a few bosses!
You guys should definitely keep playing this. It just get better as you go!
Peebs you should do A twilight princess video of Jeff trying to complete the infinite bomb glitch and see if he can do it
I don't mind the touchscreen controls of the ds Zelda games. But.....
DAT MIC BLOWING THOUGH IN SPIRIT TRACKS!
I actually really like the DS Zelda games
That fucking flute in Spirit Tracks is one of the worst things ever put into a game
Really? The flute was probably the easiest thing for me. Now if you talk about the learning the song part...Well that's another story.
For the record, I don't hate the ds zelda titles. I love them! Spirit tracks was the zelda game that introduced me to the series. The flute part is just a minor problem for me. Overall it is my second favorite game, after windwaker.
Oh, fuck that flute. I tolerated Spirit Tracks' bullshit up until then, but my god was the flute terrible...
One of the few Zelda games I've actually finished.
I got this game for 48 cents at my GameStop. I don't even have the Wii gun thing I just held the remote in a weird way. It's a fun game
This looks kinda fun to me! I've seen it at local GameStops, and other stores, but didn't think much of it.
Aquanex2 it's a pretty good game, not much content but it's still fun, especially in the later levels
You guys should make this into a series, some of the later levels are allot of fun!
I'd actually love to see more of this!

It's also probably because I beat the game 3 times on the Wii before I played the GC version, so I was way too used to the orientation of the world
Bman54X Yes, I played Wii, GameCube, Wii, Wii, and now I'm playing the hero mode on the HD version. I'm much more used to the Wii orientation of it.
One of my fave dungeons in Zelda is from oot the spirit temple just so atmospheric and creepy and the fire temple in the volcano so good :)
I keep forgetting that this game exists, because nobody ever talks about it. I'm so happy that you played it because this is honestly the first time I've seen it played, even though I've known about it since it was announced. Might be a good idea for a future Zelda Month video? Unless you can't think of enough material for it.
It is definitely worth playing through this whole game. There are some really fun levels! Also note, you can charge shots and zoom in!
Play more of this its fun to watch. I played it when I was like 9 and I remember it getting a lot better
I also remember putting notes on the map to help solve puzzles and figure things was interesting.
AHHH This is actually one of my favourite Zelda games! There's not a lot of content, but it's so fun!
Jacob Bernardi Me too :) this was one of the few multi player wii games we had that was easy enough for my grandpa to play so I have a lot of found memories of it
Eevee Power Haha, yeah, my dad and I would always compete for highscores. He loved the fishing in TP too xD
+Otaku Weird that they didn't go for the pots, which the games point out are for destroying..!
This was fun! And I LOVED swinging around in LOZTP too! So freakin fun!
I was given a Wii Zapper for Christmas a few years back, when it was new, and this game came with it. It's cheap entertainment, sure, but that didn't stop me from squandering that entire afternoon shooting for high medals. No regrets.
This made me remember of when I used to play this with my bro. I liked this game.
Keep calm and gor on
THIS GAME WAS MY CHILDHOOD THANK YOU OML
I remember seeing this game for 50 cents at gamestop. I don't regret not buying it.
m8 that's a steal
Rainbowforce5 50 cents for an entertaining little game? You missed out.
H DeputyDawg Eh.
Pro Tip :) If you hold down the trigger you can get bomb arrows. Also the green enemies give you rapid fire- hold down the trigger to activate it. Also, you can shoot the scarecrows multiple times (up to 8) if you shoot the body before the head.
The last level is by far the coolest one in the game. The rest is still fun though, I'd say it's worth a quick playthrough.
I used to have this game, must the disc got too scratch, so I can't play it anymore 😂. Thank you for playing this epic game!!
I wanna see more of this, please play all the levels because I never got to play this game and I really wanna see every scenario in this
Navi is hidden in all the stages. She's in the pumpkin if you shoot them all in the first stage
Do you get points for shooting her? That'd make my day.
Arkatox Hey listen! That was mean (and correct)
I actually kind of wish they had made a short series of this one since the game isn't very long. The Darknut battle was super fun.
I actually enjoy this game. There's are two things to do to maximize your score:
1.) Prioritize keeping your combo (a lot of small scores can add-up faster than a few large scores), and
2.) Save gold targets and red skulls for last, whenever possible (but don't sacrifice your combo to go after them).
This was actually my first "Zelda" game, so it's got a special place in my heart. Me and my sister actually played it quite a bit.
This game was actually really underrated I loved this
Im getting flashbacks from my old wii
It'd be cool to see some more of this!
I agree, PBG, Arbiters Grounds by far the best dugeon in any Zelda game I've played.
Amazing video I was laughing hysterically
Me too Jeff I love the double clawshoot
PBG Grand Master of obscure video games.
Linkle's Hylian Crossbows in Hyrule Warriors are based off Link's crossbow from this game.
Wow. I actually beat myself to it. 😁
Wow, I had no idea that PB and Jeff existed until this video, and WOW was I missing out
Moar plz, this was actually really enjoyable to watch! Beat the entire game!
Nothing like playing the fruit balloons stage at 2am with your best friend and hitting that laughing gas stage of tired where this is literally the most amusing thing to ever exist. All we have to do now years later is say fruit balloons and there's instant death from laughter
Lol why Pbg, you always make me Crack up.
OMG! I remember LOVING this game when i was small.
please upload more gameplay from this game. I loved this video
I always feel more immersed in Zelda games with motion control. The problem people have I feel is that you have to hold the wiimote precisely. Which ever way you turn it is exactly how the sword will on screen. So if you don't swing it the right direction, it won't do what you want it too.

when link gets to hidden valley
ITS HIGH NOON
Am I the only one who thought of "frame per second" instead of "first person shooter" ?
It's not even first person for the most part. XD
+Ace in the Hole True dat :D
It should have been TPS: Third Person Shooter or Twilight Princess Shooter.
Hoo Hah nope.
I think so
I wanted you guys to play this game for so long now!
If you guys ever return to this, you can hold b to do a bomb arrow; also when you defeat a green enemy you can hold b to rapid fire shots (ammo below)...though I don't expect this to be remembered.
You need to tackle multiplayer mode at some point... I should get this game at some point too...
They did a minigame in the game Wii Play based off of Duck Hunt
Please do a part two of this game!
My family and I have a couple collective DAYS on this game! My siblings and I were home schooled, so our days were mostly occupied by playing this instead of working. Best part is, playing this game was my mother's idea
0:31 I bought a Wii Zapper just so I could play this... lol
0:53 Why so many Links with the same color?
2:11 Considering it came out way after Twilight Princess I doubt that it helped it's sales much if at all.
2:48 *Sigh* NO!
5:46 You have a radar PBG. You had 1 enemy left :P
14:09 Are you really feeling it?
15:45 Dang.
Twilight princess was my very first Zelda game, tbh its still my favorite, even as different as it is to most of its predecessors. Re-playing it recently as an adult I can definitely see why I loved it so much as a kid.
Foreshadowing to the existence of Linkle
I platum metalled this game. it is totally worth playing all the way through if you loved playing twilight princess. pro tip, it is really important to keep your combo up so don't shoot unless your sure you'll hit. also, hold down the trigger to charge up a bomb arrow.
It's not only FPS, and it's mostly Third Person Shooter.
Still, cool game and video!
Oh man, this wasn't the most in-depth game, but it was fun! I used to play against my friends all the time!
when you said arbiters grounds, it brought back some old pbg episodes :)
The nostalgia kicked in on this one
I don't think it's fair to say that "a lot of people didn't like it". The vast majority of people did.
i loved this game when the wii was brand new
I liked the toch screen controls in the ds Zelda games. It was like you were saying with the motion controls in TP, you got to "RRU-RRU" and swing you sword around every were. It was kind of emersive.
The best part of the motion controls on the wii for twilight princess was that you could use your bow and steer your horse at the same time. I'd be fine if there was just a game where you ride around in hyrule field shooting stuff.
reverse here, I doesn't like the motion controls, unless it's VR, but I do like touch controls owo
I hate trying to see while my hand covers the entire screen, and then the bottom has stylus marks. The top screen is just much more clear for me.
Joel Chowdhury i doesnt like it either
Joel Chowdhury splatoon absolutely sold me on motion controls. they can be used for better stuff then waggling. splatoon used motion to emulate a mouse and has some of the tightest aiming controls because of it
This game looks so satisfying.
I remember this game. It was really fun.
This was my first Zelda game and it got me into the Legend of Zelda
