Ah, this just came out. I wondered why this didn't have a significantly higher number of views and likes as it deserves. Somehow this suits Grian perfectly.
This works really well for watcher interpitations where Grian became a watcher to save a crumbling evo. The sun is his players and server and while he is essentially dying (becoming a watcher) it was worth it for the memories he made with his players and it was absolutely worth it to save them from the glitchy mess evo was becoming.
A king to a god is the very people who’s believe brought their existence. A god to a non-believer is a king of kings whose power is so revered, but yet they hide away. Using legends to hold power over some. The power is in the stories. But who knows if there is any truth to that. (I dunno where the fuck i pulled this philosophical shit from but here. Take it. I’m running away.)

But if you truly like my video :D there's a funnier one about the Watchers I just posted I am sure it will give you chills as well Or a collapsed lung Either one Watch at your own risk
Well, not exactly. There were two Watchers associated directly to Grian's Evo Lore, who made their appearance in his final episode, which inspired the ATUS Watchers. But I love that fanfic too!
OMGGGG i totally thought this was based off the ao3 fic covet (by oceanbreeze7) bc there’s a part where grian says “I laughed when I fell. I saw hope where others saw my death” and it matches this audio SOOOO well i totally recommend it if u havent read it already
Sure! In one of Grain's old server's Evo SMP, there was a pair of godly entities called the Watchers, which were presumed to have the power to control, end, and begin servers. They played a bunch of pranks on the Evo players, but during one season, when the players went to kill the Ender Dragon, Grian was taken by them when he entered the portal and turned into a Watcher, or something like them. He did not return to the server. Later, Martyn Inthelittlewood found a new entity called Listeners, who were basically the Watchers' opposites. Not much is known about them, except that it seems Martyn had a strong connection with them. The later appearances of the Watchers were on Martyn's pov of the Life Series. In his pov, it was explained that the game was a prison for Grian- or perhaps an escape. The Watchers fed off of negative energy, created by Reds or Permanent Deaths. The Watchers harvested that energy in an endless loop of Life Series. The Watchers rarely to never talked to other players beside Martyn, but they did mention that Grian was never meant to be in the Life series, but only to Watch. Martyn replied, saying he didn't understand what they meant, and in return the Watchers expressed their unsurprise. They then estranged Martyn, comparing him to more of a Listener than a Watcher. While Martyn's pov connected a lot of loose threads in the series, he mentioned that the lore did not affect other players' povs, nor did he confirm it was actually canon. However, in the newest Life series, the statue of the head of a Watcher appeared, which Grian calls the quest-giver. Meanwhile, in Hermitcraft, Grian built a giant rift which connected the Hermitcraft server to Empires SMP. While it is not directly canon to the Watchers, Grian expressed concern for its power and most interactions with it were vague and slightly sinister. The Evo and Hermitcraft Fandom made a headcanon about the Watchers being in control and/or creating it. Watchers are not connected to Hermitcraft, canonically. It's just a headcanon. They are confirmed to be canon in Evo and the Life Series, tho

'What's a king to a god?'
Whats a God to a non-beliver.

Gave me chills. Stunning art, and what a piece of poetry to tell Grian's story with. Haunting and brilliantly executed.
