My SLK has just started with same issue. My problem started a few weeks back when water got into my alarm siren just under the bonnet grill next to the battery. Think that’s my problem so I’ll start there but this video is very helpful. Thank you.

hi i have mercedes 209, clk, 3 widows not working? could you tell my what itsthe problem
I am not a wizard...
It can be many different things!
Check the basics, fuses etc...
Scan the car and go from there...
👍👍👍
Thank you! i will do
i have a CLK200 Kompresor 2009 A209. i want to buy a engine scanner. what is your advice please.
There is plenty out there... all depends how "deep" you want to go... and how much you are willing to spend...
Thank you for watching!
Hey my fuse is fine but key only works really close to the door.
You have antenna issues
Great video. Can you check the remote without the car? Thinking of buying a frequency counter or making a receiver to test aftermarket alarm remotes too.
Mambre Khachatryan
Hi
Yes, you can test the remote with one of those testers... That's how I knew that the remote was transmitting...
Thank you for watching!
Thanks for posting the video. Can you recommend a tester? Which one to buy?
Mambre Khachatryan
Hi
To be fair, they are all very similar...
If you spend a bit more, you can get one capable of more frequencies and other stuff...
All depends on your budget...
Something like this for example...

What is the box? Is it standard or aftermarket? Did you lose anything by removing it? I’d this actually helpful for anyone else?

I have a 2001 Mercedes Benz SLK 230. My issue is that when I try to lock and unlock with key fob. Lights blink, that's all.
Hi there, I had problem with central locking key and I tried changing fuse same fuse but it's blowing of so I used 40 amp rather than 7.5 and it's working so I don't know it's that ok to use it or not please help?
NO...
Something is obviously loading the circuit making the 7.5 amps blowing... probably a short circuit somewhere...
You should use a higher amp only for diagnosis purposes...
Hope that helps.
Thank you for watching!
Thanks
Big mistake hope you have a fire extinguisher handy
I have the same problem on my mercedes CLK , the key work only if i stick it to the door driver handle , the fuse are ok.. What can i do?
Red light on the key and the key battery is new*

I have some this problem with my car, Did you find the solution?
@@LMAutoRepairs I changed to an used one antenna bought on ebay, same problem
Hi, that box is a genuine tracker the police lock on to if stolen.
I would guess that the grey battery had died as they do and causing a short or drawing power to charge up. They normally service them every few years and change the battery.
I used to fit the other side of trackers in to police cars.
Hope that clears things up a bit
😊
👍👍👍
Hi again the silver thing is not original frome benz !! or ? answer pls
i-Bird
Nop.... I put in the description.... was a aftermarket GPS tracker...
So you just unplug that thing and the locking works
In this case yes...
👍👍👍
It looks like a Boomerang car tracker....
you find gadget in your car, you don't know what it is, google name or part # on it.
if not simply take pic of it & google. you'll find it.
had one that came loaded with gadgets all over it, that was my remedy.
tracker, additional alarm, after market sirus., respectively . no free rides in my car, they hit the dumster.
Was not my car...
But thanks!...
👍👍👍
Unfortunately may be there is another problem
There is antenna on your rear glass it will be the problem
You should have watched the video till the end...😉
@@LMAutoRepairs yeah but in some causes on mb w203 it's a antenna problem trust me😉😉

Please where is the fuse of speedometer? I can't know which speed I run
Is the cluster completely dead, or just the speed gauge?
👍👍👍
@@LMAutoRepairs The rpm still work sir
Yes for the gazoil level and the engine temperature
In that case your issue might not be a fuse...
Scan the car and test the cluster...
The speed is probably sent through CAN from by the ABS unit...
👍👍👍
@@LMAutoRepairs you're right, the dashboard shows me also a yellow abs warning
C180 is not coming on but battery is new

Mahdi Petric
Start with the basics...
Is the remote battery ok?
Is the remote transmitting?
Scan the car and look a some live data can also help...
YES..BATTERIES CHANGED IS TRANSMITTING SIGNAL..JUST THE CAR WONT LOCK...FUSE BOX CHECKED NO FUSE BLOWN...ONLY WAY IS THE PUT COMPUTER ON?
Mahdi Petric
It is probably the next best way to diagnose the problem... otherwise will be only guessing...

W210 same problem.. where is module located?

Hi
Not sure on the W210... but surely somewhere in the boot...
Thank you for watching!
Thanks for work done
My remote worked and that’s it stoped working I checked fuse but it’s good and it’s not working.
Check everything else... key fob battery is good?
Next will be checking that the key is actually transmitting...

It works but you have to be 2’ away from the car. I will figure it out.
I figure it out lol

Fault finding and repair/how much
Hi thanks again for the video, that unit is a tracker and it's backup battery.
please don't do any of that to your car. its not the correct way to test circuits.
I know... but for a quick check it does the job...😋
