Well, I think there was no case for all that large entourage to be there. It was all about the groom and all about his decision. It was like if the others were not there. He always had the final word and everybody was expecting his reaction. When he clapped at the final dress, everybody did. She liked that dress, but she had also liked others. If he hadn't liked the last one she would have tried another one...

Dr Sonya Taylor-Acree passed away in 2018. She met and married the love of her life Mathis Marcel Acree Sr. in 2011. To this union God blessed them with a son Mathis Marcel Acree II.
I hope she had a great life with her husband. May she rest in peace.

@@helintje She died from breast cancer in '18. This episode is from 2011. I knew it was older by the style of dresses. So sad she left 3 young children behind; she and Mathis had a son together.

@@user-xe1nr6er5q yeah after I was 15 I didnt feel the need to mention half years anymore since the yearsfelt like they were passing faster and the difference wasnt big. As a cancer survivor though that half year is a huge difference

WoW i just read her obituary. .After marrying the love of her life, They went on to have a little boy. Sadly a few years after they where married , she succumbed to her battle with breast cancer .What an inspiring, powerful woman !!

I really appreciate how Lori sent the groom downstairs and gave the bride an out with the dress after he had left--Lori created a space where she had the opportunity to choose something else if she wanted. That's a great bridal store host. I also so appreciated how she had so many family and friends and they were 100% there for her--no drama. Beautiful.

@@jemmaleda2426 that doesn’t negate the fact that the bride could have changed her mind once he was no longer present, if that was truly what she wanted to do. He left so as not to see her jacked up, but it created an opening for the bride to express her own opinion in his absence.

Despite the occasional hiccup presented by the groom, I think this bride's entourage was joyful, supportive and loving. Having said that, and having survived cancer myself, I totally understand why this bride wanted her fiance to be present. At the end of the day, he wanted her to feel extraordinarily beautiful on the day. Every dress suited her, but that last dress? Perfection!

Some women just like having their S.O. with them, and take their opinion with open ears. Take her background away and say she just wanted him there, would that be so bad or would he still be a controlling man? Sometimes the lesson in life is just plain don't judge...now if the person shows their true colors...judge away. :)

Honestly, I'm a card carrying feminist and I'd love for my fiance to be there when I pick my dress. His opinion means most to me, he's my biggest supporter and he's always there to help me out and make things fun. Why wouldn't I want my biggest support system there to help me make a decision other than an outdated tradition?

Sonya is absolutely gorgeous. Her smile, her teeth, her eyes. She is just lovely. The whole family and crew were lovely and supportive and the groom didn't want Sonya to have just any dress. It had to be the Right dress. He is a lovely man and I hope they have many happy years together. ❤

I’m actually glad the husband was there, he was the only one that could actually judge. Seems like everyone else was just more so happy she was in a wedding dress, that’s amazing they were supportive but she can’t get all the dresses. The last one was beautiful on her!😍🥰

That dress really really compliments her. They are of the same mind. The bride puts it on and have a huge frin and when she walked out he knows it is the one. Doesn't nitpick, doesn't make her feel bad about herself.
That man is a beautiful soul who deserves someone as beautiful as her. Anyone who will stick with someone through the most emotional time in their life deserves happiness with that person.
I think the groom also took note of when she said "I really like this one" with that beaming smile. And the rest of the entourage are so precious, with their ooh and aah every time she came out and immediately saying that they like it without being prompted. I'm happy she had these people around her.
