Alongside the HF Compressor, you left out the LMC feature it comes with, as well as the mid side button. That to me makes it really special. The fact that ssl was able to pack that much for as affordable as it is. Just awesome.
Love seeing how far this room has come since the console was delivered. My opinion after a few times of selling gear to get other gear I wanted more, and then regretting it down the line, don’t sell it unless you’re really not using it at all for months at a time. In a few months you’ll probably find space and cash for Neve’s anyways, so it’s never really worth selling something that you love and still use from time to time!
It's hard to sell gear but I'd say if you're not using it, get something you will use. I don't have the fusion but because I basically have done what you are doing with individual pieces for the master bus. Ultraviolet EQ to some color units with tube, tape, and transformer saturators. Haven't personally used the Empress but I find the 30hz shelf paired with the HPF at 30hz to be pretty amazing on the Ultraviolet.
I agree it's best to keep the studio streamlined as much as possible, I want to limit my equipment in order to have a signature sound of my own. Wouldn't the Audioscape Pultec and the Gainlab Audio Empress be another redundancy, or is there a difference in the sound between those?
I loved using the Fusion on my mixbus along with a pair of Pultec EQP500s, however, now it lives on my drum bus and it sounds amazing there! Give it a shot you won’t be disappointed 👌
Idk if it’s worth it just for this, but I run a handful of tracks into my fusion prior to mixing. The vintage drive sounds phenomenal on kick and snare, and you can really slam the vintage drive on that way more than on a full mix. You could also turn the compressor into the talk back comp and run the fusion as a parallel drum processing unit. I’ve made a parallel compression print through the fusion before and it can do some cool stuff used in that way. Again, idk if I’d keep the fusion just for that, but it’s food for thought.
You will miss it so much. And if this argument dont work: Your SSL is an investment gear. It will rise in its value and you'll get double in 10-15 years, if you decide to seal it now in airtight vacuum and put it in some storage room. The SSls are becoming the new Steinways^^ Sorry for my english...
What a cool dilemma 😉 From my point of view I would sell the SSL Fusion. As you mentioned - a great tool but the alternative looks way more interresting to me together with the option to expand the 500 series options. Thanks fro ongoing great content on your channels. Greatings from Germany
The fission has a secret. The hf compressor can be converted to a SSL full band compressor by holding down the button for 10 seconds then it becomes a compressor that is found on the E series consoles on the talk back mic.
Hi thanks for the video. TBH I was wondering when you would move it out as it is designed for in-the-box producers who want a little bit of analog colour. Your set-up is so analogue now it doesn’t make sense to have one on your 2Buss…but it is a great unit, and I have one which I layer with some tube inserts etc. So seems completely rational to move it on,
You made a real good point, in your situation I would definitely sell the fusion, because you can afford a chain that yields better results and flexibility. Instead of being locked into one box, give yourself room for the future to utilize the best tools for specific processing, that makes sense. Saying all that, if I could afford it, I would buy your fusion lol. Because it would take me years to get to your point.
You make a great case and sound pretty convinced about the quality of your alternate components. By taking a modular approach, you can continue to evolve each stage in your mastering chain. Sell the Fusion.
Dang Dave ... as a self produced artist that's building up his collection, "let's make a deal"! I just received my entry level SSL Big Six a few days ago (headed to Origin or the like someday), & your Fusion would complement the G Bus comp on the board as a 1st taste of SSL outboard goodness. Like many of us here, we love your gear collection and desire many pieces of our own. Your Fusion would love it here hanging out with my saxes ...
I bought the BUS+ and it wasn't enough of what I wanted. The Fusion looks like it could be nice for the stereo widening, it has 2 funtions on it, not bad, and an insert. SSL makes great products but for me it didn't fit. The thing is, for me, I would only use the fusion for the widening. I found a hack with modular gear called the midside+. It's great, you could even automate it, but it's a mess to connect to. I too looked at the spl BIG but two things steered me away from it. 1: It's 500 series and I have no rack for that and I don't feel to get one just for that right now. 2: The specs. Your maximum input is 21 dBu. It doesn't say if that is for the sum or for the difference. If it's for the sum, then the difference will be even less. I think if you want the best out of widening, it's still likely to be the portico II. Dangerous music has widening in two units. The Dangerous Master and the Sum and Minus, but only have one knob on it. It doesn't look like any widener does it all. Experienced engineers eventually get rid of the Fusion. That should be a good indicator on where you might be.
Dave, It appears you do not need it. I like to know why you do not have The Neve Protico II Master Buss Processor? I seen so many videos about it and they appear to be amazing. The Idea of getting another 500 rack would help you.
Take a look at the Elysia 500 series. You can't go wrong. Good luck in conquering your master bus. The x-filter chain to the nvelope will make a six band EQ. It's a four and two. Equalization and transient designer on steroids.
Have most of the units you’re talking about replacing the fusion with. Regardless, I still like the SSL Fusion. Mid/Side through the insert is a great feature as well as the different flavors of saturation. I also really enjoy the HF compressor. My chain is Neve 542’s, ssl fusion, two Midas 500 series EQs in the insert in Mid/Side mode, into Elysia stereo X-filter EQ, into the Audioscape SSL Bus Comp. I’ve also been experimenting with the new Warm Audio WA-2MPX as a color box. I am considering the SPL Big eventually but out of 500 spaces. Lol To sum up, I wouldn’t personally get rid of the Fusion. Good luck.
Plus those Cranborne Carnaby 500 harmonic EQs are for preorder - my last two 500 slots will be filled with those if I like once they’re available. So another 500 rack might be just in time.
I sold my hardware fusion because I was quite happy with the simalar sound I got with the fushion plugins. Always go for the sound and feel, you like best. The neves are great, but still think tape replication/compression is best with real tape-even a 4 track can sound really good, and then transferred back into digital.
Awesome video! I was thinking about getting one of these but your video really broke everything down and now I think I’m covered w my Massive Passive, Elysia Karachter(sp?) and SPL Big. It is a great piece of gear but I think I was just being lazy and not thinking about what each of the components actually did. Great video!
i had the fusion and replaced its features with the igs rb me stereo pultec and 542's about a year ago. imo the fusion is amazing for a single box feature set, but when you start expanding its not as useful. note: i also typically use stereo widening on stems/busses only to ensure mono compatibility so also did not use the fusion imager.
You're missing Manley gear. Replace the Fusion with an ELOP+. But I think you should get your Master Buss stuff together in one local area. (But I don't know enough to really matter what I think.)
Well as you know Uncle Dave, it’s never really about what you need to do or should do, it’s what you want to do lol. Your mixes already sound amazing. I doubt that replacing the Fusion will be anything that people can place a finger on with your new mixes. That being said, the heart wants what the heart wants!
I was thinking about getting the Fusion a while ago. But went a different route for my mixbus. Only thing I'd really love to have would be that HF compressor. If you don't need all the single processors in the Fusion, I guess you don't need it at all.
I love the fact that you can have the options that you want or need but I do agree that you do need to limit your options so that you can choose what you need and get your work done. I think you should keep it for now because the SSL Fusion may really shine on some of your mixes but if you like your most recent setup and its sounds wonder on everything that you mix then there is valid reason to get rid of the Fusion!!!
I have the SSL Fusion and a stereo set of Neve Tape modules. I don't think either is better but I do run everything through those modules at various mix settings. The Neve tape is big, bold and a little laid back whereas the Fusion Vintage Drive is more forward sounding. To me it's song dependent or instrument dependent. I don't know if they've improved the vintage drive recently but mine is 2 months old and I don't find it nearly as noisy as the samples I've heard on RUclips. I'm curious how good the SPL Big sounds compared to the Neve Master Buss Stereo Widening section. I'm auditioning a Dangerous Music Compressor and find it's compressor better than the Neve but I can't live without its width tool. Maybe the Dangerous paired with the SPL Big would be the way to go.
Hello @ mixing music - where do you sell your unwanted gear?? I’m having a really hard time selling my SOUNDCRAFT MTK22 and my ALLEN & HEATH PA28 MIXER??
Id be happy to take the Fusion off your hands if it's giving you too much trouble. I'm an audio engineering student and still acquiring outboard equipment on my end. If you do end up deciding to sell it, I would definitely put it to use.
This is a good dilemma to have, I wish I had that dilemma too. Your collection of gear is impressive and I have enjoyed all your video's about your gear / installation etc. Regarding the Fusion: 1) maybe keep it and use it on any bus? 2) maybe keep it and use it in your "in the box mixing" domain? 3) if you decide to sell it, would like to know for how much.
I think you perfectly answered the question yourself - sell it! I usually sell stuff I don't really use or need IF it would be easy to buy it again. So I try not to sell rare vintage gear. The fusion isn't (yet).
Don’t let your fusion give you confusion Keep it uncle Dave it’s a great color box and you will find a new place for it in you great setup! Don’t do it you will regret it. 😊✌🏽
The 542s instantly became my favorite piece on my master buss. I picked up a RND 535 bridge diode compressor and I'm heavily getting another and sticking them on the buss, as well. I have a pair of 541s on there now but the 535 has that special something character when needed. For my EQs I have a pair of the 551 inductors and MAAG EQ 4s. I looked seriously at the fusion but you lose a little flexibility with the all-in-one units, IMHO. Breaking each stage out in separate units is more costly but gives you more options and more control. I might've been ok with the Neve master buss processor but there's no looking back. I am missing the widener and like the option the SPL Big but I'm out of 500 slots for the time being. When you're limited for real estate, it's hard to justify a 2U rack with such limited capability as the Fusion.
it's true that I watched your videos(maybe year) without subscribing lol we don't pay attention😅, here your new subscriber from Senegal🎉, thank you for your videos❤🔥
A) I am subscribed, and Everyone else should be too! Why would you not? B) Do you have a bus Compressor on the Fusion Inserts? That's what it was designed for. To Extend the functionality of the SSL stereo Bus Compressor. It seems many people missed that, and aren't using it to Shape thier compression. C) If you Are happier with something else on your 2-bus, of Course you move on. But what about your 8 Stereo Group Busses. None of your Groups would Love to inherit that processing, upstream? D) I know a studio with FIVE Fusions, 4-Groups & the 2-Bus. All as additions or extended features for the Bus Compressors already in place. E) Yeah, I'm not with you on the "More is Less" philosophy, as pertains to mixing options. These things Add to what you can do, and thier particular contribution has been a huge success. F) I haven't bought a Fusion yet. You might have just convinced me that I should. How much ya want for it?
I'd let the Fusion go. If you miss the Ultraviolet EQ on it, you can always buy that in 500 format. I have it and use it all the time. I second the suggestions that others have had about Elysia stuff - it's *amazing*. Now, what I *would* suggest, is that you look at Flock Audio patch bays. You really want to talk about a game changer? They are $$$$, for sure... but boy do they save time! Want to see how your chain sounds in a different order? You're just a few mouse clicks away. SO much easier and faster than re-patching things!
Sell the Fusion. You've got everything you need right there. I almost have the same setup with 2 542, the SSL UV EQ and the SPL Big + the Vari Mu Dictator. How do you decide in which order you run them?
Greetings, This is a funny video. The purpose of getting a SSL is to cut down having to buy each unit separately. But you ended up buying the units separately. 🤔 That being said you get rid of the SSL and you lose an option for MidSide. I would love to hear the differences of the master bus if possible.
get rid of the fusion & get heritage audio symph eq for killer mid/side. also would rather have maag eq4m mastering eq. the air band alone is worth the price.
Well, separate specialized modules should be better than a “jack of all trade” unit. Considering the cost (money and space and power usage and cables) of all the units you’re running through vs the cost of the Fusion alone. So yes, I’d say you sell the “master of none” unit.
YOU`VE GOT WAY TOO MUCH MONEY!!!! :) LOL Most mastering engineers like the "Insert" on the Fusion!!!! :) I have a Fusion, and a Tegler Creme, and probably around 2000 plugins. My mixes sound great!! That´s all I need!!! :)
hey uncle dave just a thought.....a pair of phoebes from wes audio are great...carhill transformers in and out .....i dont know how much like neves they truely are but the sound very nice
I like your idea of selling the Fusion and getting another 500 rack for some EQs, deesers, ect. It seems you would get more use from those than an idle Fusion.
Like u said its not gonna be your master bus but u can keep it to be your new guitar or drum bus 😅 and theres is the other golden rule “its better to have it and not need it that to need it and not have it” thanks for your videos i love them
Agree...the SPL Big is way better than any other widener out there. I would sell the fusion! I'd get some Elysia stuff (nvelope, karakter, etc. they are great and are also in 500 format), maybe a 33609 style compressor, or the SSL BUS+ I own one and it's awesome (but you have other VCA style comp there, so maybe it's redundant for you). I'm really interested in the SPL Desser, the plugin sucks and there isn't a proper review of the hardware on youtube, would you ever make one?
If its redundant and useless sell it. There is no reason to hold onto any piece of gear that's useless no matter the cost nor brand name. If it can be utilized in a new different role that other gear cannot reproduce effectively and cost efficiently, keep it. If you think for even a second that you'll end up missing the unit, keep it. If it produces a result you like that no other chain can replicate, keep it for those moments; If those moments are few and far between, sell it.
Sounds to me like you've already made up your mind. I would go with your instinct on this. While I know they aren't exactly equal, you can still have the functionality of the Fusion with plugins. I know you do this for a living, so your viewpoint is different from mine as a hobbyist, but I prefer to have hardware that either isn't replicated by plugins or where the hardware has substantially increased performance (which is usually EQs and compressors).
@@MixingMusicAnalog What I personally want is the Rupert Neve Designs MBP. I just love the sound of that thing and it has great M/S processing along with a very powerful limiter). A lot of people compare it to the Fusion, but they are really different units. Dom Sigalas has a really good video covering both the MBP and the Fusion.
If you don’t “have” to sell it then I’d keep it around for a while. If you swap it out for another 500 rack you’ll “have to” fill that rack out 😁😁 it’s mandatory, so will run more cash ultimately.. but the variety always helps, and if you’re missing anything from the Fusion there’s so many 500 units available to mix and match.. I reckon go for it.. actually I reckon keep it and get the 500 rack! Sorry man but I’m gear obsessed 😂
I feel like you get enough SSL goodness with the console that maybe your masterbus would be good with some other options! Seems like you already made the argument. There doesn't seem to be much reason to keep your fusion other than having it as an option. selling it would be the right move but I caution another 500 series rack of more EQ. Though you may not have many outboard eqs you technically have 32 ssl eqs right in front of you, and I'm only saying this to follow that "as little as possible" line of thought. You may want to do what you said and go more De-essing and some more utilitarian modules in the new rack. idk just my 2 cents
Yes, great points. I now have another 500 rack and I am filling it will 2 more de-essers and a couple of transient designers for now. Holding off on the EQ's for now
I think you've already answered your own question because you've found options you prefer. Fusion is a great all-in-one option, but it doesn't look to me like you need an all-in-one. I guess you gotta ask yourself if you're gonna miss anything on the Fusion, and it doesn't look like you will.
Let's say this , I don't think there is some better gear then the SSL Fusion , there are different gears Yes! But every gear has its own tone and character , not better just different.
Sell Fusion and get another 500 rack If your not using it. You get 10 slots for gear that you will use. Just be selective and take your time on what you chose to fill it with. Surprised you dont have a 2500+ or Portico II. New Sub so look forward to your decision/videos either way.
C'mon no other unit has secret features like the Simon Says game amongst others. But sure you essentially replaced each module in the box so go for it, since you can.
Yes, sell it! Everybody has an SSL FUSION by now and it's getting boring, so maybe you really should venture on to new ground gearwise just to keep ahead
If I knew for sure I would not have made the video and asked for my subscribers opinions. It's still here nearly 3 weeks after the video was recorded. So I guess I did not know for sure. :)
i just disliked the troubles i had to go through ! unit i received was apparently out of spec . On the positive side the MS feature was nice to have, and sound quality is great! Cheers!
If you mix "all in the box", check out my online training which includes a FREE 90 min mixing course. www.homerecordingmadeeasy.com
I learn a lot from this video, gears come and go from my studio, never my RPND 542s. Thank you again and again for your honesty.
You are very welcome! Thank you for your support!
Alongside the HF Compressor, you left out the LMC feature it comes with, as well as the mid side button. That to me makes it really special. The fact that ssl was able to pack that much for as affordable as it is. Just awesome.
Great point!
You forgot about the hidden Simon Says game 👍🏻
Love seeing how far this room has come since the console was delivered. My opinion after a few times of selling gear to get other gear I wanted more, and then regretting it down the line, don’t sell it unless you’re really not using it at all for months at a time. In a few months you’ll probably find space and cash for Neve’s anyways, so it’s never really worth selling something that you love and still use from time to time!
Good points. That's why it has not been sold quite yet. However, I have not used it on the last 5 mixes and don't miss it one bit
Thanks Jason!
You can use the MS from Fusion into the Empress EQ and will be a lot more flexible..also the HF comp is nice.
Thanks!
I agree it's best to keep the studio streamlined as much as possible, I want to limit my equipment in order to have a signature sound of my own. Wouldn't the Audioscape Pultec and the Gainlab Audio Empress be another redundancy, or is there a difference in the sound between those?
Well, the Empress is my main master-bus EQ. The Pultec I use a lot on lead vocals, acoustic gtr's etc..
I loved using the Fusion on my mixbus along with a pair of Pultec EQP500s, however, now it lives on my drum bus and it sounds amazing there! Give it a shot you won’t be disappointed 👌
Little too late....already sold. This is an older video but I appreciate the advice!
Thanks for your thoughts. :)
You will miss it so much. And if this argument dont work: Your SSL is an investment gear. I have looked at the Neve. Right now, a little steep for my wallet but I would love to try it one day
If you like the sound of the new gear more and you have things you want that could fit in the rack space of the Fusion, then I would sell it.
Thanks!
You can substitute the Fusion with the plugin versions. I’m sure not as good as the hardware but you’d still have your HF compressor and widener.
True!
Take a look at the Elysia 500 series. You can't go wrong. Good luck in conquering your master bus. The x-filter chain to the nvelope will make a six band EQ. It's a four and two. Equalization and transient designer on steroids.
I'll have to take a look at that one!
Hey Dave, do you have any plans on doing a video about the ART TransY? What do you use it on?
Its on the list
Have most of the units you’re talking about replacing the fusion with. Regardless, I still like the SSL Fusion. Mid/Side through the insert is a great feature as well as the different flavors of saturation. I also really enjoy the HF compressor.

Hello @ mixing music - where do you sell your unwanted gear?? I’m having a really hard time selling my SOUNDCRAFT MTK22 and my ALLEN & HEATH PA28 MIXER??

This is a good dilemma to have, I wish I had that dilemma too. Your collection of gear is impressive and I have enjoyed all your video's about your gear / installation etc.
Regarding the Fusion:
1) maybe keep it and use it on any bus?
2) maybe keep it and use it in your "in the box mixing" domain?
3) if you decide to sell it, would like to know for how much.
All good points to consider. I would probably want $1600 shipped in the USA
500 is perfect! You couldn't imagine how amazing the Elysia NVELOPE is!
I'll have to check that out!
Thanks!
I think you perfectly answered the question yourself - sell it! I usually sell stuff I don't really use or need IF it would be easy to buy it again. So I try not to sell rare vintage gear. The fusion isn't (yet).
I totally agree!
Don’t let your fusion give you confusion
Keep it uncle Dave it’s a great color box and you will find a new place for it in you great setup! Don’t do it you will regret it. 😊✌🏽
Maybe, will see
You can give it away to a lucky subscriber
ahhhhhh, NO! LOl
@@MixingMusicAnalog 😭
Great points
Definitly yes. For my ears it was pure hype!
Thanks!
it's true that I watched your videos(maybe year) without subscribing lol we don't pay attention😅, here your new subscriber from Senegal🎉, thank you for your videos❤🔥
Thanks for subbing!
Well said. E-mail via the website and we can discuss the sale of the fusion. Better hurry, 10+ people are asking me already
You would have to add some extra bucks but what about selling the Fusion and getting the Black Box Analog Design HG-2?
Never considered that box
Why is the API5500 not on your Mixbus? I also use it together with a Fusion (and a SSL XLogic Bus Comp) and I could not live without it!
I have used it on my master bus and liked it. now, I use the Empress EQ and love that as well
Have you try the SSL UltraViolet EQ 500 Series Equalizer?
no. I have not
I'd let the Fusion go.
Flock audio is amazing but would cost me $25,000 to get all the I/O I need in my studio. That's not going to happen...LOL
Sell the Fusion. You've got everything you need right there. I almost have the same setup with 2 542, the SSL UV EQ and the SPL Big + the Vari Mu Dictator. How do you decide in which order you run them?
I am really considering it
Greetings,
This is a funny video. The purpose of getting a SSL is to cut down having to buy each unit separately. But you ended up buying the units separately. 🤔
That being said you get rid of the SSL and you lose an option for MidSide.
I would love to hear the differences of the master bus if possible.
Because the units separately provide more flexability
sounds like you're going with the Neve sound - limiting options = Bye Fusion!!!
Fusion is gone!
I think you are on the right track, Dave. Sell the Fusion and turn it into another 500 rack with cool stuff in it.
That's the plan :)
Buddy..... The ssl is worth keeping just for the mid side function... Put your eq in the insert.... And bam!
Thanks!
get rid of the fusion & get heritage audio symph eq for killer mid/side. also would rather have maag eq4m mastering eq. the air band alone is worth the price.
Thanks for the suggestion
Been with you for a good 10 years, Uncle. LOVE the new room…..sell.
Thanks so much 10 years! I really appreciate your support
Well, separate specialized modules should be better than a “jack of all trade” unit. Considering the cost (money and space and power usage and cables) of all the units you’re running through vs the cost of the Fusion alone. So yes, I’d say you sell the “master of none” unit.
Good points
YOU`VE GOT WAY TOO MUCH MONEY!!!! :) LOL Most mastering engineers like the "Insert" on the Fusion!!!! :) I have a Fusion, and a Tegler Creme, and probably around 2000 plugins. My mixes sound great!! That´s all I need!!! :)
Thanks for watching1
Hey Unc Dave how good are those Tridents?
Love them! Very different from the SSL and super affordable
hey uncle dave just a thought.....a pair of phoebes from wes audio are great...carhill transformers in and out .....i dont know how much like neves they truely are but the sound very nice
Cool idea
I like your idea of selling the Fusion and getting another 500 rack for some EQs, deesers, ect. It seems you would get more use from those than an idle Fusion.
That's what I am thinking :)
I purchased a new Fusion from Sweetwater recently David. We need to work on our timing…
Oops! Sorry my friend!
I absolutely love my fusion. Mixing in to it is the best.
Like u said its not gonna be your master bus but u can keep it to be your new guitar or drum bus 😅 and theres is the other golden rule “its better to have it and not need it that to need it and not have it” thanks for your videos i love them
Yea, I am considering that as well. The Fusion can be used on other things other than the master bus...still thinking...
I think you should sell it! Ears are your guide!😊
Oh thank you!
It's on my list to do a video for it
If its redundant and useless sell it.
Thank you!
Good point
@@MixingMusicAnalog What I personally want is the Rupert Neve Designs MBP. I just love the sound of that thing and it has great M/S processing along with a very powerful limiter). A lot of people compare it to the Fusion, but they are really different units. Dom Sigalas has a really good video covering both the MBP and the Fusion.
Hi, i think you should sell it and go on with your plans. New sub here btw, from Norway.
Thanks for the sub! I really appreciate it
I love that you got the SPL BiG that I was asking you about on the live stream a week ago :P Congrats! I have it and I LOVE IT
I love it!
Yes, sell it! in case you miss it, the SSL fusion plug-ins are good enough IMO cheers!
Great point!
Mid side insert being used?
Nope
Watch Mix Bus TV vid where he compared the Neve Tape and Fusion. Some genres sounded better with Neve, some with SSL. He says he uses both some times.
Already watched his video.
Great points!
Holding off on the EQ's for now
The plugins from SSL is good enough to not want the hardware. Unless it’s the Bus +
The Bus+ is a cool box as well
You were the reason why I bought an ssl fusion, and now you're going to sell it 🤣
It's still a great box!
I think you've already answered your own question because you've found options you prefer. Fusion is a great all-in-one option, but it doesn't look to me like you need an all-in-one. I guess you gotta ask yourself if you're gonna miss anything on the Fusion, and it doesn't look like you will.
That is what I am thinking
After watching this video I’m considering selling my Fusion … I have the empress and the dictator and since that I’ve never used the fusion anymore
I dont regret selling mine at all!
Pair with the Neve Portico 2, this is a great unit!
Trust me, I have looked at the Neve!
Let's say this , I don't think there is some better gear then the SSL Fusion , there are different gears Yes! But every gear has its own tone and character , not better just different.
Correct, and if you follow this channel and watch the videos, you will hear me say that 10 billion times. LOL
You also have transformers in the 542‘s.
Yes,
Sell Fusion and get another 500 rack If your not using it. You get 10 slots for gear that you will use. Just be selective and take your time on what you chose to fill it with. Surprised you dont have a 2500+ or Portico II. New Sub so look forward to your decision/videos either way.
I would love to try the Neve Protico and API. They are just a little out of my price range at this point.
C'mon no other unit has secret features like the Simon Says game amongst others.
But sure you essentially replaced each module in the box so go for it, since you can.
Got to love the hidden features!
I know lot of people keep the fusion around for the M/S routing
I did think of that as well
Yes, sell it! Everybody has an SSL FUSION by now and it's getting boring, so maybe you really should venture on to new ground gearwise just to keep ahead
Great point!
If I was you I would sell it while the resale value is still high and before SSL comes out with something else others would prefer...
Good point
Get rid of the fusion imo. I can't seem to find a place in the mix for mine
Thanks for watching!
No. But you can buy mey ALESIS FUSION...lol
LOL
If you don’t absolutely need it , sell it and get other things you need!
YES!
Dave by you posting this you already know your answer. Sell and another 500 rack
If I knew for sure I would not have made the video and asked for my subscribers opinions. It's still here nearly 3 weeks after the video was recorded. So I guess I did not know for sure. :)
well, you certainly didn’t make any kind of argument for keeping it 😂
That's what I'm thinking
i got rid of that thing,i literally threw it in the trash, that vintage drive is useless, rest is just ok,wtv!!
You are the first person I have ever heard say they hated the Fusion
i just disliked the troubles i had to go through ! unit i received was apparently out of spec . On the positive side the MS feature was nice to have, and sound quality is great! Cheers!
I'm sorry for you ! Definitely you don't now how to use it. I have it and it sound amazing and powerful. Good luck!
I would sell the fusion and get a couple of EQs
I'm thinking a pair of Neve 1073's
How much you selling for
Its been gone for months. Sorry
Too many options. Origin> Bus Comp> Fusion> 542> Converter> DAW
Got it!
Use it on the drum buss
Maybe
Just sub’d bro 👍🏻
Thanks for the sub. Welcome to the family!!
