And then she found family in Rex who basically became her newer family who she lost during the Jedi purge of Order 66 and by that I mean to survive they had to leave one another. And then she would’ve found some sort of family with the characters from Star Wars Rebels such as Ezra and Sabine who she in a way lost in the finale and once she was featured in the Mandalorian.

@@Inferno3016 What are you saying?!
I'm sure George Lucas used the general culture of many Native American Indian tribes for an inspiration for this species.
I was born in a Indian family and went to a school that was all about the culture of being in the circle of life, mostly used to help us feel like a family. And after I graduated and went to live on my own, I do miss that atmosphere, and I agree about how that Star Wars species feels extremely alone when away from their heritage.
I'm inuit but I also feel like there are some similarities in general with native cultures.
Like how we used to all live together as kind of one family, the hunting culture and how they abandoned the ones that couldn't survive on their own (which is just something you had to do for the survival of everyone in a harsh climate).
The force also reminds of sila in inuit belief, which is kind of the spirit/force of the universe, but is also used to describe the mind. And inua which is kinda the idea that everything is alive and has some spirit/force with it's own mind.
Just going by the names, the togruta all have extremely Indian names. Ashoka and Shakti are both Sanskrit names, and I’ve met multiple Indian girls named Shreya or Kaveri. They’re not even like Indian inspired names they are literally relatively common Indian names.
I'm half Filipino and I love different cultures and cartoons and sometimes Star Wars because I was a big Star Wars fan and I'm 17 years old and Ahsoka is my favourite character because she's so Fierce and loyal and very very good at hand-to-hand combat.
Togruta are the most force sensitive species together with the Yoda species. Many star wars fans dont know that.
But you seem to be forgetting the zabrak and twi lek
Okay, but what about the Ithorians? They literally built floating cities just to avoid stepping on their grass; that's how much they care about life / living force.

You know the world building is good when we’re getting biology lessons about fictional species
Ahsoka is clearly the best one for a reason and with all of her skills, strength, smarts, her big heart and her powers she is a true hero the galaxy needs and still has even in the sequel trilogy, she’s a survivor that’s well balanced and with a surviving family by her side all the way
Currently playing as a Togruta on SWTOR, so this was very enlightening. I do wish we had more content with Shak-Ti though. She's one of my favourite Jedi Masters.
Is the game any good? Loved me some Kotor
@@Mrcandles312 There's some interesting stories in there, but for me the gameplay got repetitive. Same with Elder Scrolls Online. I imagine if you played with someone else it would be better. I just think this type of game isn't really for me, but it's worth a try

Shame the fang thing never translated into the Clone War.
Might get to see it in mandolorian
I just noticed something. If you watch the part where Ahsoka says "I'm no Jedi," it shows some of her teeth and it looks sharp like, well fangs I guess.
Force illusion exists.... so maybe they subconsciously hide the fangs. I mean it would help not scare people when they talk. The paficists I could see filing the fangs down, but with Ahsoka and Shak Ti, it could be a natural force illusion or whatever
In the movie's novelization, Ahsoka is shown (from Rex's perspective) to look up info on her species and gets exasperated upon seeing Togrutas are "widely seen as venomous". Later, they both see a "black shape" (implied to be a rodent) scurry on the ground in the dark. Rex tells her not to eat it but Ahsoka simply says "rodents give [her] gas".
It's safe to say the novelization established Ahsoka as wanting to move away from her species' stereotypes.
I always thought they were the most beautiful species in the galaxy
All of those "contradictions" aren't really contradictions, unless you have some "only one culture per species" rule enforced in your fictional universe.
I mean look at that vast array of cultures on earth, often believing completely contradictory things. Even simple little things, in ostensibly closely related cultures... like how seeing a black cat in the UK is good luck, but in America it's bad luck. And that's a small, benign difference in cultural belief, between two cultures that are joined at the hip. Cultural disagreements scale all the way up from that, to the really big ones... the big, idealogical / theological differences that wars are fought over, genocides committed over... the whole works.
A lot of scifi though tends to be like "all the people from planet XZY have this culture".
Yeah I definitely agree. I mean seeming contradictions, what people would think are contradictions, something like that. In the sense that even in universe you had people do that, saying Togruta are X, but didn't acknowledge they were very not X and also Y sometimes.
To be fair, most of the planets in star wars are much smaller than Earth. Even Coruscant, one of the largest planets in Star Wars, is 12,240 kilometers in diameter, making it 516 kilometers smaller in diameter than Earth, which is 12,756 kilometers.
All? I would point out that in Star Wars, these planetary civilizations have existed for MANY millennia - I would think that would allow for a greater level of per-planet cultural uniformity. Especially since most planets are unified, and most others suffer from warlords. And therefore just have a culture of violence.
I think it’s fair for entire planets to share the same culture in the future. 500 years ago, neighboring villages had different cultures but now entire countries can share a culture. It’s been less than a hundred years since advanced communication technology has become ubiquitous and our cultures are already noticeably more alike now than they used to be. I don’t think it’s unreasonable for an entire planet, after of thousands of years with advanced communications technology to have a single homogeneous culture.
It would have been interesting to delve deeper into how Ashoka was so effective against the Trandoshans because of her species‘ traits and history..!
The fact they can sense things up to 80 something feet away should make it virtually impossible to sneak up on a torgruta, atleast one that isn't either very distracted, asleep maybe or else having to take them out from afar.
That moment when you realize Yoda chose Ahsoka to be Anakin's Padawan in particular because they were both good Jedi, but needed a greater level of emotional attachments than the Jedi would typically allow :'(.
Ever since i fought Shaak Ti in the Force Unleashed on the PS2 i was interested in the character and species. I was like oh they look cool, want to see more of them. I was really sad she died in more ways than one actually:(

I just want to say things that bite are venomous not poisonous . A frog for example is poisonous , a snake and togruta would be venomous
They actually aren't either. That was a myth made up by others in the galaxy due to the fact that Togruta could kill their prey in a single bite to the neck. They aren't actually venomous, just know exactly how to bite to kill their prey instantly. However they have done absolutely nothing to dispel this false fact and some encourage it given the automatic intimidation factor.
If I bite it and it dies, I'm venomous. If I bite it and I die, it's poisonous...

So basically if culture effects how force sensitive a group can be, then it makes sense why there has only been one recorded mandolorian Jedi, since their culture is focused on combat and are not very merciful.
God I wish we had different sentient species on our planet. Like we had before "The time of Man"
It'd be so interesting to have these different species with different attributes that vary so drastically.

i love this!! The Togruta has always been my favourite species in Star Wars and learning more about them is awesome!!
Another interesting thing that wasn't mentioned is that Togruta can occasionally have four headtails. They usually have three, but Raana Tey actually has four. I don't think it's ever been revealed whether it's some kind of mutation or just a different variety, but it's an interesting fun fact irregardless.
I know the normal lifespan of the Togruta is approximately 95 years however since Ahsoka has been given the life force of The Daughter could she live longer? Possibly twice her normal life span?
When Ahsoka was expelled from the Jedi order and lost the Padawan rank the temple guard ripped off the beads on her head.

After learning about their culture I like them even more. They are a very interesting and beautiful species
That last bit made me imagine them like zombie pigmen in Minecraft. Hit one they all attack.
They seem like a species that would be prime targets for slave trade or things like Trandoshin hunting, with such a similar physique to Twi’leks you’d think slave traders would use them as a solid alternative if they couldn’t obtain a Twi’lek and not saying they wouldn’t put up a fight but a technologically advanced species would have a easier time subjecting them to exploitation due to their ideals of staying natural and hunting and not indulging in technological industry or advancements makes it really easy to imagine outside species exploiting them in similar ways to Wookiee’s and Twi’leks
But keep in mind that they're natural hunters, and they blend into their planets environment pretty easily. It would be a lot harder to capture one of them on Shili considering the hostile enviroment. Taking one from Kiros would probably be a lot easier though.

Really great lore video!
What an incredible imagination and talent produced this. Better than most of Star Trek "species." Isn't this Dave Filoni?
This was awesome! I learned a lot!!
Now I can't stop thinking of Ahsoka just biting people with her teeth, like some kind of messed up Jedi - Vampire.
Dude now you got me imagining that. Thanks...
Ever noticed how medichlorians were mentioned once, and never again?
Yet everyone hopped in the wagon of "yep, that's what the force is!" and accepted it into the Canon without batting an eye
Finally! Why has nobody ever don3 this before? It's legit Ahsoka's species
Epic.. well done content.. the togruta are a species I've always wanted to know more about. Now i do thankyou..
The Togruta are probably my favorite species, and if I had to pick a Starwars race to be it'd definitely be them. I dig the familial/social bonds and the sort of passive upgraded senses they have, plus aesthetically they're just *really* cool. I'm still wondering if they do any intentional shaping to their montrals and lekku though, especially on the Kiros colony. I'm not much a fan of some of the styles I see, but then again that wouldn't stop me from being one x'D
Never thought I would ever the march of progress but for a Star Wars species. I love your banner regardless
still can't wait to see how you do the final part of ahsoka's complete story.
Love this video. I know there's basically no content on them but I would love to see a video about the Codru-Ji/Wyrwulves if one hasn't already been made.
Do pantorians, umbarians, or wookies.
Utkarsh Patil he already did togruta and we’re here so maybe he can do pantorians again
Very interesting video!
