I don’t know much about vocal things, but Ailee hold B4 - C#5 melisma which Whitney didn’t hold it live. I compared Whitney live to this, and I think Ailee is better in both melisma and head voice usage (my opinion). Whitney is a better singer for sure, but in this song Ailee beats her.

I don’t know much about vocal things, but Ailee hold B4 - C#5 melisma which Whitney didn’t hold it live. I compared Whitney live to this, and I think Ailee is better in both melisma and head voice usage (my opinion). Whitney is a better singer for sure, but in this song Ailee beats her.

The best word to describe her? Effortless. Purely effortless. You don't see talent like this. She connected with this song on another level I have yet to witness. The level of emotions and how much she poured her entire heart and soul into this song really touched me. I want everyone to watch this, and hopefully feel as much as I did while listening. It's such a difficult task to take a world-wide legend's song, like Whitney, and do it justice. Brava, Ailee. I admire her with as much passion as I possibly can, and I hope one day I can posses even the slightest amount of talent that she does.
