    I have been working as a ladies shoes factory worker in Italy for more than 15 years. I can tell you about producing these shoes that they cost a lot. For example just assembly of all these parts into a 👠 upper to the heels and sole cost nearly 100 Euro then cutting and of leather in upper and sewing cost at least 50 Euro assembly of covering of heel with leather and attaching to sole of the shoe costs a couple of dozen all these processes take place in different specialised places by experts. Then you have costs of materials, publicity and managing everything. So don't think that these people make a lot of money on that.

    I wouldn't say the designs of most of these sought after high-end brands are so much unique as a slight, recognizable twist on really traditional, classic designs. That shoe could be absolutely any brand without the super simple red sole. Those ugly Golden Goose running shoes look like any running shoe, except that they come already dirtied for you. For people who want to feel groundbreaking with very little risk.

    As someone who had to be very dressed up in the corporate world, I purchased a pair CL similar to these babies many years ago when they started at $495. I was wowed at the fit. Once I understood their sizing, I was amazed that a patent leather point toe pump could be so comfortable after all day wear. While a high heel will eventually bother the ball of the foot when on them for hours, the upper felt like a leather slipper the entire time. No joke. Not one bit of pressure. I understand why they are loved. This man makes a sexy shoe as comfortable as you can get. Thank you for the review.

    • @PharmDQueen
      @PharmDQueen 11 месяцев назад +8

      How do you understand their sizing?

    • @dreicher
      @dreicher 10 месяцев назад +42

      They run closer to French shoe sizing instead of EU/Italian sizing even though they are made in Italy. For example: EU/Italian size 37.5 is the equivalent to 7 US size which is equivalent to 38 in French sizing. The UK equivalent to 7US is 4.5 or 5 for UK brands like Paul Green and you will notice reviews will say they run big. Not so. It is they are marked with UK sizing. So when I ask for my CL size, I will usually begin with a 38 (same for Chanel) It the size that works for me most of the time. @@PharmDQueen

      @MissBliss818 10 месяцев назад +79

      That's crazy you say that cause CL are the most uncomfortable shoe I've ever tried on. I could not purchase them and was really shocked. They're painful and I was trying on sizes that are 4 sizes larger than what I am. They were laughable and the guy helping me with my fit couldn't even fit me in their largest size, I'm normally a us size 8, but their largest shoe felt like I was trying on a us size 6. I asked the man helping me if this is a common issue and he says it happens to most people he helps. Any other shoe at the boutique was great compared to the CL. I'd compare the shoes to wearing shoes made of wood. I tried another boutique and the same experience. Edit: On a side note, if you bought these when they were at $495, there's actually a good chance they were made with better materials compared to now.

    • @dreicher
      @dreicher 10 месяцев назад +23

      I understand. The time we spend in life trying on clothing and shoes to find what fits us perfectly can be so frustrating! Fortunately, there are so many luxury brands that make shoes just a beautiful (or more so) as CL's so you have many options. Yes I purchased the pumps a long time ago. I also have a pair of CL flats that I bought 2 years ago and they feel like they were custom made for my foot. But not every brand works for every shape foot (I cannot wear Chloe or Marni). Like body shapes, there are different foot and toe shapes.. Correct size is important but it is one part of the equation. Overall foot and toe shape is another factor. Different brands (luxury to cheap) will feel better on certain foot shapes depending on the overall foot patterns the designer/brand use in the construction. We spend so much time on our feet, choosing a shoe that fits us well is more important than any brand.

  • @bethanyanderson1745

    Apparently, a fine example of form vs function. You gave high marks to the shoe's materials but i don't believe you rated the workmanship, or did i miss that evaluation? They appeared to be difficult to deconstruct so I'm assuming they're well made.

The folks there bought real Louboutins and ripped them apart and made patterns, and adjust them for every customer. It took a few weeks, as there is backup of orders. later I bought Louboutins of a similar style that was 3 times the price. It was oddly as comfy as a custom made shoe. I always love patent anything but the real patent is the utmost best, It's unfortunate that this new generation have missed quality clothing that was not high price it was a standard. That's why vintage is the best. Its actually sad you thought patent was a cheap material. Even for CL patent leather, which takes much longer to stretch. Feels very similar to Calvin Klein Gayle pumps which is a useful starter pair. Pigalle 85 is my only pair of CLs. Jimmy Choo Romy 85, Gianvito Rossi Gianvito 85, and Manolo Blahnik BB 90 pumps are all similar styles that prioritize weight balance and comfort a bit more than CL. That said, nude Pigalle 85s in patent are an iconic design that go with pretty much every outfit in every season.

    I was really surprised by a pair of flat leather Isabel Marant sandals I got that I thought qould last me forever. There was a diamond cut-out pattern all over the straps, which crossed in an "x" in the front with a slingback strap in the back. The straps looked like a thick, solid piece of leather, but split after only one summer of wear almost everywhere. It was just two thin pieces of leather glued togerher, and I had to crazy-glue them back together myself. They were also not attached that well to the leather sole, and the straps were starting to split apart at the base where they attach to the sole. To top it off, they painted the leather of the footbed black to go with the black of the rest of the leather sole, but it began wearing off the footbed almost immediately. Not impressed for like $500 CAD.

    Most uncomfortable shoes in luxury world. Not sure how they manage to achieve such a level of uncomfortability. For example Blahnik is always always comfy.

    Honestly, if you can’t or don’t want to buy something then don’t 🤷🏻‍♂️ trying to find a reason (even if it’s legit) to make yourself feel better isn’t going to make you not want it if you could buy it.
    We all can on our own determine our own value on things and whether we feel like we are being duped or not. All these videos that trash businesses and try to “uncover” stuff that honestly, isn’t hidden to consumers of these products aren’t going to make prices go down…
    The folks buying them will not stop and the folks not buying them weren’t going to buy jn the first place…

    I am glad to know that at least this brand does at least use the highest quality in their shoes. I follow along with videos showing how bad quality is some high end , way overpriced handbags but at least the shoes here are backed up with quality. For now at least they are, perhaps they will end up doing what the other high fashion houses are doing and shoving out quantity over quality. Anyway, I own two pairs of CL shoes, they are gorgeous but because I can no longer wear heels, I cannot wear them. One is a pair of gorgeous Oxford style. I wish I could wear them again.

    Love your videos! Such drama from such a mundane task of tearing apart a shoe. The suspense was killing me 😃. Those red soles are what make people pay the price. Lol. But now, I would like to know what the other pumps are that are of comparable quality but much more reasonably priced? Dare you tell us? TY for sharing your knowledge!

    I'm a self-professed Louboutin girl here... the quality of the materials in the Pigalle does not surprise me at all. I also know that even with the beautiful high-quality materials, luxury items are always overpriced. The price exudes understated elegance and taste and sends a statement that "I belong in an exclusive class of well-fashioned in-the-know's"; this shouldn't be a jaw-dropping surprise to anyone. If you're not hurting anyone and you enjoy this lifestyle and... a really awesome pair of shoes, then why not? I once bought a pair of Payless sandals for casual walking-around-in for a vacation and they literally fell apart on me while I was out and about. Never again... for a bit more, it is well worth the pay-per-use for a better-made shoe that will last and is comfortable, as well. One does not have to specifically buy high-end luxury; we really should stay away from fast fashion trends and products for the sake of the environment and value per dollar.

    im sorry but shoes are different from wallets or bags. any fool can slap together a bag. But a good shoe? A shoe thats high quality, high craftsmanship, durable, with a timeless but still unique design? I'd really like to know about these 250 buck alternatives! Especially if you're asian and have small feet. the italian brands used to have 34/35 about 15 years ago. But they do no longer. So CL is the only alternative. as long as you dont go to Florence and have Mannina hand craft them for you

    Bottom line, it’s not about the cost of material… it’s so much more. When an artist creates an item, piece of art, we can’t price it by suggesting - 1/2 of clay, a bit a cloth, 24 hours of electricity for ‘baking’ an items, etc. That piece took education, training, creativity, innovation, and so on. So, these videos don’t really help much 🤷‍♀️

    I have a paid of Louboutins and I have to say , one of the most uncomfortable heels. I have a pair of espadrilles. too narrow and designed for very flat feet. But the quality is pretty good. I prefer Casadei ( my fav shoe brand for pumps and boots ). Are the Loubis worth it ? not really. They can look beautiful but they are meant to be looked at , not designed for wearing unless u want painful experience

    Great to see the quality layers on the outside. I would like to know more about that. Red cushioning layer inside. We saw you peel it off towards the end of the disassembly. Look like some kind of closed cell foam. It was very thin that must have provided some limited comfort.
    Also I would like to see more how the heelshank is made. I didn't see any medal just cardboard? And how does the heel attach to that?

    It last decades if you buy special shoe trees for high heels I and my my Wife owns dozens of them she of course more than I do she has atleast 15 pairs if not more but all are sole protected those are two major mistakes that manufacturers do they must come already with soleprotector its crucial and they worth every penny not only your beloved one looking more sexy and confident but also its one of the construction savy brands which realy makes hard job for counterfeiters you see it directly.And the third thing is manufacturers must think about comfortable insoles we consumers taking care of this crucial issue with aftermarket ortopedic products %98 of the business does not care about this obvious things and its has always been so for many decades I know we all know this.

    I can’t help it but I truly hate CL shoes , they are hands down the most uncomfortable designer shoes .. I only worn mine once to a dinner and wanted to cry , the arch is profiled in such way that it doesn’t support the foot properly , also the red sole got scratched immediately so I don’t care about the ‘quality ‘ , I’d never ever buy any CLs again

    I haven't even watched the video, I will, but I'll say it now, no, not worth it. Everyone who wears them says how uncomfortable they are and even the designer said years ago he dosn't design them to be comfortable, he designs them to present women as sex objects on a pedestal.

  • @Madame_Different

    I love the style but I would never spend money for a pair of CL. For me, they don't worth it as they are only assembled with glue, the sole is too thin and the heels are ridiculously too high. Most of women don't even know how to walk with and when I see one in trouble, I cannot hold my laugh 😂
