As someone who had to be very dressed up in the corporate world, I purchased a pair CL similar to these babies many years ago when they started at $495. I was wowed at the fit. Once I understood their sizing, I was amazed that a patent leather point toe pump could be so comfortable after all day wear. While a high heel will eventually bother the ball of the foot when on them for hours, the upper felt like a leather slipper the entire time. No joke. Not one bit of pressure. I understand why they are loved. This man makes a sexy shoe as comfortable as you can get. Thank you for the review.

How do you understand their sizing?

    • @dreicher
      @dreicher Год назад +43

They run closer to French shoe sizing instead of EU/Italian sizing even though they are made in Italy. For example: EU/Italian size 37.5 is the equivalent to 7 US size which is equivalent to 38 in French sizing. The UK equivalent to 7US is 4.5 or 5 for UK brands like Paul Green and you will notice reviews will say they run big. Not so. It is they are marked with UK sizing. So when I ask for my CL size, I will usually begin with a 38 (same for Chanel) It the size that works for me most of the time. @@PharmDQueen

That's crazy you say that cause CL are the most uncomfortable shoe I've ever tried on. I could not purchase them and was really shocked. They're painful and I was trying on sizes that are 4 sizes larger than what I am. They were laughable and the guy helping me with my fit couldn't even fit me in their largest size, I'm normally a us size 8, but their largest shoe felt like I was trying on a us size 6. I asked the man helping me if this is a common issue and he says it happens to most people he helps. Any other shoe at the boutique was great compared to the CL. I'd compare the shoes to wearing shoes made of wood. I tried another boutique and the same experience. Edit: On a side note, if you bought these when they were at $495, there's actually a good chance they were made with better materials compared to now.

I understand. The time we spend in life trying on clothing and shoes to find what fits us perfectly can be so frustrating! Fortunately, there are so many luxury brands that make shoes just a beautiful (or more so) as CL's so you have many options. Yes I purchased the pumps a long time ago. I also have a pair of CL flats that I bought 2 years ago and they feel like they were custom made for my foot. But not every brand works for every shape foot (I cannot wear Chloe or Marni). Like body shapes, there are different foot and toe shapes.. Correct size is important but it is one part of the equation. Overall foot and toe shape is another factor. Different brands (luxury to cheap) will feel better on certain foot shapes depending on the overall foot patterns the designer/brand use in the construction. We spend so much time on our feet, choosing a shoe that fits us well is more important than any brand.

I like their men's shoes and own a pair, but you clearly know nothing about craftmanship if you think these are high quality. The materials are literally as cheap as it gets. Veg tan leather and chromium are bottom-tier materials. Plus, there's no hand stitching, which is the hallmark of a well-made shoes. It's just glue. These shoes are nice status symbols but cost pennies to make.

I always love patent anything but the real patent is the utmost best, It's unfortunate that this new generation have missed quality clothing that was not high price it was a standard. That's why vintage is the best. Its actually sad you thought patent was a cheap material. The folks there bought real Louboutins and ripped them apart and made patterns, and adjust them for every customer. It took a few weeks, as there is backup of orders. later I bought Louboutins of a similar style that was 3 times the price. It was oddly as comfy as a custom made shoe. But I did not have to wait. ..and it made me feel a bit better knowing I did not have a knock off shoe.

Pigalle 85s (the ones featured in this video) are actually pretty comfortable after you’ve worn them in (assuming you are experienced in walking in anything higher than kitten heels). Even for CL patent leather, which takes much longer to stretch. Feels very similar to Calvin Klein Gayle pumps which is a useful starter pair. Pigalle 85 is my only pair of CLs. Jimmy Choo Romy 85, Gianvito Rossi Gianvito 85, and Manolo Blahnik BB 90 pumps are all similar styles that prioritize weight balance and comfort a bit more than CL. That said, nude Pigalle 85s in patent are an iconic design that go with pretty much every outfit in every season.

I was really surprised by a pair of flat leather Isabel Marant sandals I got that I thought qould last me forever. There was a diamond cut-out pattern all over the straps, which crossed in an "x" in the front with a slingback strap in the back. The straps looked like a thick, solid piece of leather, but split after only one summer of wear almost everywhere. It was just two thin pieces of leather glued togerher, and I had to crazy-glue them back together myself. They were also not attached that well to the leather sole, and the straps were starting to split apart at the base where they attach to the sole. To top it off, they painted the leather of the footbed black to go with the black of the rest of the leather sole, but it began wearing off the footbed almost immediately. Not impressed for like $500 CAD.

For example just assembly of all these parts into a 👠 upper to the heels and sole cost nearly 100 Euro then cutting and of leather in upper and sewing cost at least 50 Euro assembly of covering of heel with leather and attaching to sole of the shoe costs a couple of dozen all these processes take place in different specialised places by experts. Then you have costs of materials, publicity and managing everything. So don't think that these people make a lot of money on that.

It’s Manolo Blahnik that’s the most uncomfortable shoe I’ve ever had in my feet. It was so bad that even when I was just trying them on, I knew instantly that if I kept wearing them, I would end up in blisters within minutes. Absolute nightmare! With Louboutin shoes, their biggest issue is very high heel that can be difficult to walk on, but apart from that, wouldn’t give me any blisters

I love CL. He makes many options and you have to find the ones that are comfortable for you (and wear them in a bit of course). I've had the classics for years, and a few other interesting pieces. I will continue to purchase them. (Edit - interesting fact and love that you refer to red nail paint look... Christian had the idea from an assistant painting her nails red! And so he just started using the polish to paint a sole. So, it's great he has kept that look. He calls the red an "accident" himself.)

Tanner, would you consider cutting up and telling us about the Saint Laurent Wyatts? These have been their most popular men's shoe ever and they're loved by so many. But are they actually worth it? They're very inconsistent in sizing and usually have flaws with the different sizing of each boot etc. For their price tag, my boyfriend and I would like to know if they're worth it! Thank you! I prefer Casadei ( my fav shoe brand for pumps and boots ). Are the Loubis worth it ? not really. They can look beautiful but they are meant to be looked at , not designed for wearing unless u want painful experience

I am glad to know that at least this brand does at least use the highest quality in their shoes. I follow along with videos showing how bad quality is some high end , way overpriced handbags but at least the shoes here are backed up with quality. For now at least they are, perhaps they will end up doing what the other high fashion houses are doing and shoving out quantity over quality. Anyway, I own two pairs of CL shoes, they are gorgeous but because I can no longer wear heels, I cannot wear them. One is a pair of gorgeous Oxford style. I wish I could wear them again.

I'm a self-professed Louboutin girl here... the quality of the materials in the Pigalle does not surprise me at all. I also know that even with the beautiful high-quality materials, luxury items are always overpriced. The price exudes understated elegance and taste and sends a statement that "I belong in an exclusive class of well-fashioned in-the-know's"; this shouldn't be a jaw-dropping surprise to anyone. If you're not hurting anyone and you enjoy this lifestyle and... a really awesome pair of shoes, then why not? I once bought a pair of Payless sandals for casual walking-around-in for a vacation and they literally fell apart on me while I was out and about. Never again... for a bit more, it is well worth the pay-per-use for a better-made shoe that will last and is comfortable, as well. One does not have to specifically buy high-end luxury; we really should stay away from fast fashion trends and products for the sake of the environment and value per dollar.

The ease with which the heel cap and iconic red leather peeled off the shoe were truly astounding. The leather is good but the glue could be better...Or you know, they could be sewn like REAL shoes. Usually this channel discusses the workmanship/craftsmanship and it's sad to see that isn't the case in this video. Maybe you should collab with Rose Anvil. They could tell you way more about the construction of the shoe than just the quality of the leather.

My first reaction to seeing that pair of shoes was have a mental OUCH go off repeatedly in my head. Once upon a time I used to torture myself in order to be fashionable. I will admit to being surprised about the quality components.
My favorite brand is Naturalizer. I can walk all day long in their three inch heels and be comfortable. As I don't do stiletto's, I don't have accidents with heels catching on things outdoors.
Naturalizer probably no longer is considered a mid-range brand. If it is then it's at the lowest end of it. That said, I love that the shoes hold up well for years and are padded enough to make life pleasant.
