    Thanks so much for this video. You have a beautiful home! Would you know if there is a rental website where other units in the complex might advertise availability? Or would you be willing to share the name of the complex? I am planning a 3 month exploratory stay with my son next year and your complex/neighborhood sounds perfect. Congrats on your little tico/tica. Pura Vida!

      Hi @Habbi0227,
      Thank you so much; we are very happy with our condo. Unfortunately, most of our neighbors own their units, and I haven't seen any condos available to rent since we moved in. But Escazu is full of similar condos to ours for rent. I recommend joining a few "Ex-pats in Escazu" Facebook groups and keeping an eye out for rentals; that's how we found our place.
      If coming down for a short exploratory trip first, a furnished Airbnb might be the way to go while you look for something more permanent. Airbnb worked out great for our first couple of places in Costa Rica.
      I hope you find everything you are looking for in Costa Rica!
      -Chris

    Hello! It’s great to see your videos. I watched your “One Year Later” video first. Both my hubby and I are very inspired and excited to make our move to CR. We too are a mixed-race couple and we have 2 young children. I’m a Brit, and he’s an American. We live in New York but we’ve had enough of the USA for the same reasons as you….😓
    We’re looking forward to this stage in our lives, and hope to learn more from your family.
    If you need any help/advice about your growing family, don’t hesitate to reach out. Ours are 8 and 13🥰🥰
    Stay well, thank you for sharing, and keep doing what you’re doing 🙌🏾🙏🏾🥰

      Hey Bev! I used to think the same. When we first moved to CR, we lived in Uvita, and I thought I would wear beach clothes the rest of my days here. Then we drove through Cartago on our way to San Jose. I was not prepared for 60°F weather, lol.

      Have you watch the news over here USA 🇺🇸 how many “ KAREN’S” neighbors people have to put up with ??
      Mean people?? Omg 😳
      So with that said Costarican are not mean we have no time nor room for negativity.
      The other day I witnessed a neighbor here called the cops 👮‍♀️ on a old lady only because her car wheels for near he parking space 😂 omg 😳
      Then another case in some place up north called the cops because her neighbor put up CHRISTMAS LIGHTS RIGHT AFTER THANKSGIVING 🤷‍♀️. Omg seriously ???

    Its very cute! How comfortable is it when it comes to sleeping without AC? I dont see any window screens downstairs...do you sleep with the windows open so the cool air comes in? The US has me so used to the AC, especially at night time. Im trying to decide if i need to bring my own furniture or is it cheaper to buy my own once i get there. Is furniture more affordable there than in TX? Did you move with the cat from TX?

    • @BloggingMoneyLife
      @BloggingMoneyLife  7 месяцев назад +1

      Hey! You have a lot of great questions here. I will try to answer them all.
      Sleeping without AC in Esczau is no issue at all. Its more moderate temps here and we have a breeze most of the time. Where will live now is even cooler and sometimes we are too cold believe it or not. No screens in the windows downstairs but those windows were typically closed at night.We sold all of our furinture and bought new here. When we did the math of paying to ship our furniture vs buying new here, it made more sense to just buy new here. Furniture can be moer affordable depending on your style. There are a ton of furniture stores here and the prices vary a lot. You just have to shop around. But we were able to find furniture we liked here. Yes, we moved both of our cats here from Texas.Whew! That was a lot! Hope I got all your questions answered.

    How walkable is Escazú? Do you have any videos on the city of Liberia?

    • @BloggingMoneyLife
      @BloggingMoneyLife  Год назад +1

      In general, the central parts of Escazú, especially around the main commercial areas and downtown, are pretty pedestrian-friendly. You'll find sidewalks, pedestrian crossings, and a variety of shops, restaurants, and amenities within walking distance. It's a great place to stroll around and explore on foot.
      However, as you move towards the outskirts or residential areas of Escazú, the walkability may decrease slightly. Some areas might have narrower roads, fewer sidewalks, or less pedestrian infrastructure. It's still possible to walk, but you might encounter less developed walkways or need to be cautious while sharing the road with vehicles.
      We have flown into the Libera airport but have not spent much time in the city. Unfortunately, I can't tell you much about that area.

    • @BloggingMoneyLife
      @BloggingMoneyLife  Год назад +3

      Overall we feel very safe in Costa Rica, and our neighborhood has not been an exception. Besides living in a gated community with 24-7 security guards, the surrounding area is also friendly. I walk for an hour every morning, stopping at the park to work from my cell phone without any issues. I've also noticed others going the same. I do not have a need to walk around at night, but plenty of pedestrians are going about their evenings after the sun sets.
      I hope this helps. Thank you for watching!
