Regarding why Urusla hates King Triton's guts, in a deleted extended version of "Fathoms Below' (animated version) , a sailor tells Eric that yes, Ursula and Triton are indeed siblings, and that she did try to usurp the throne from her brother, so hence her exile. Apparently there is a novel that delves into Ursula's origins even further, including the fact that she had other siblings that she killed off to try squirm her way to the top. I'm so sorry, but I forget the title of it!
I think there was something said about Ursula in the animated TV series prequel to the animated movie, but I am not sure. I know she did appear there, but if there was something said about her story, I can't remember.
I figured that Mirabel never got a special ability of her own because she functioned as the heart of the family, and brought out the best in them all. Giving her a power would have been redundant.
yeah, I thought it was because the Casita chose her to be the new bearer of the candle, and also, for me, at the end of the movie they didn't need to give her a gift, because she didn't need a gift to be special.

They probably didn't give her powers so she can stay humble with the job and also keep the family humble and on the right track so they can remember why they were given the miracle to begin with
Cinderella’s glass slippers weren’t supposed to change to anything. Her fairy godmother let them stay glass slippers as a memento for Cinderella of that special night.
A couple of these were given explanations... 1: In the live action Beauty and the Beast they revealed that the curse DID make the townspeople forget... Including Mrs. Potts husband... 2: Mirabel didn't get a gift cuz she is meant to take over for Alma. 3: Ursula is meant to be Triton's sister and is pissy cuz her dad always favored Triton and picked him to rule the seas even though Ursula is older. 4: Aladdin WAS made a prince.. It just took a lot longer.. Genie couldn't just make up a whole new kingdom.. So instead he gave him the means to win Jasmine's heart and THAT is how Aladdin became a prince.. By marrying Jasmine
Sometimes friends start off well, but can drift apart as their goals and experiences influence change in their lives. In Cruella and Anita's case, it's possible Cruella just grew into a very toxic person that Anita tries to distance herself from, but just can't bring herself to officially end the friendship. Another good question for "Beauty and the Beast". Why didn't anyone seem to notice Belle was missing for so long?
yes, could be because of that, thanks; because as a child I always wondered: how they can still be friends, especially with someone like Cruella! and I do see Anita tried to distance herself from Cruella, but she can't find a way to tell her, no one could. And it's also really strange that no one in the village notices Belle's absence (although in the live action they do, and they assume that she fled, associating it with Maurice's possible madness)

In the live action 101 Dalmatians it gave Cruella and Anita a more plausible relationship of employer and employee. I was also glad to see Anita stand beside Roger and tell Cruella that the puppies were not for sale.
Technically the wish did work. Aladdin married Princess Jasmine, which made him officially a prince. Genie went the long way to grant the wish. My theory is that when Aladdin wished to be prince, Genie knew the only way to do that is for Aladdin to marry a princess but there was no way for Aladdin to get even close to Jasmine if he stayed the way he was, so Genie made Aladdin into Prince Ali to fool the kingdom, get into the castle, and to get to Jasmine.
I think the reason why the wish didn't make aladdin a literal prince of some country is because the wish is superficial. Some wishes like Aladdin are rescued from drowning or freeing the genie go beyond. whereas wishing to be a prince can change how you look on the outside as well as how you're perceived, but the social status doesn't change.
We'll actually in later movies you find out that his father is the King of Thieves so technically that would make Aladdin the prince of Thieves, so he was already a prince
The real question of Moana is... Why does The Ocean keep flipping back and forth in helping her? At one moment, it protects her. At another moment, there is a ranging sea storm. Plus it could have thwarted those little pirate pigmy things easily just by capsizing their ships. 🤷
I stand by that Mirabel wiped the magic off on herself before touching the door knob. Thus making the miracle herself. She’s extremely talented in sewing, singing, musical interments, and emotional intelligence. She can heal the broken emotional bonds within her family bc her gift got internalized. And since everyone else had external gifts, or gifts that helped outward problems, everyone else was blind to the internal talents and gifts. When she succeeded in healing her family and the candle was made new , she got another chance at a door. And since it was putting a knob in a frame, she didn’t have the chance to do anything else. So her magic went into the house, revitalizing everyone’s gifts.
The Lion King sticks with the storyline of Hamlet. Simba has to be alive to seek revenge on Scar. I also think Scar never planned to get his hands/paws dirty unless he had to.
This again... The Lion King has extremely little in common with Hamlet. Scar doesn't kill Simba because Scar is a cruel jerk who "likes to play with his food," which is spelled out by Zazu when Scar is introduced. So Scar torments Simba with a lie and sends the hyenas immediately afterward. Unlike Simba, Scar is also too vain to learn from his mistakes, which is why he loses at the end, by confessing and enraging Simba when he could have thrown the prince off the cliff.
Mirabel has abuela's connection to the house. She's the only one that interacts with the house the way Abeula does. She doesn't get a room because the house is hers. I thought that was obvious.

You have no idea how wishes work do you. "Did the wish work?" Of course it did, he married Jasmine and became a prince as a result didn't he. Genie granted the wish, Aladdin just needed to work for it.
The movie Cruella with emma stone explains her friendship with anita pretty well. Ahe may not approve of the decisions she makes but they are old friends since childhood that only had each other. It also helps her career

Scar used the hyenas as a control tactic. If they ever got out of line, he could say that they killed Simba and the lions would kill them. Just my opinion
1.i just thought the slippers were a magical gift the fairy godmother gave as a reminder to cinderella of the magical night she had. 2.lions are different from humans they would've smelled simba's blood on him or found the body as scar's flaw is him being theatrically dramatic and hungry for power instead of reasonable.(he had his nephew's trust he could've reaped all the benefits guiding him instead of jumping to murder.) 3.that's actually a very great question the nostalgia critic also brought up,we never see the stone dragon when he's alive(outside his eyes glowing alerting mulan's grandma.)/a spirit so for all we know mushu straight up killed the guy. 4. i personally thought the ocean was one of moana's ancestors with how close it was to her. 5.considering the sisters parents didn't just take elsa to a hospital/second guess can see how kristoff's parents are an afterthought. 6.people can change,maybe before, she became how she is slowly from obsession with glamour .(the book did go into that cruella was an odd person even before that.) 7.i took it the beast was such a bad ruler isolated from everyone it didn't take long for him to be forgotten.(bigger question is how did the beast deal with the townspeople after transforming back with how they raided his home/attacked his servants.) 8.the events of tlm are triton's fault not stopping to listen to his daughter(could easily see him banishing the sea witch for a slightly petty reason.) & in several areas it's implied ursula really abused her power/became dangerous to the kingdom like being implied in some sources to have outright eaten other mermaids(whose to say she got plump from eating that sea monster she lives in to the bone after killing it?). 9.the deleted songs imply genie couldn't just create a kingdom and more he gave aladdin the look but couldn't change inside.
The glass slippers were the only thing that wasn't made from anything ordinary. In the original story, the shoes were meant to be reminders of her night out, and proof she was the mystery princess. So IF the prince starts looking for the mystery girl.
Also, he didn't "leave" the ice-cutters...they left *him* behind. They didn't seem to care whether he lived or died, so when one of the lady trolls decided to keep him (along with Sven), the ice-cutters hardly noticed he was gone. Seems to me that most of those guys had worked with ice a bit too long, which gave *them* frozen hearts!
You could also argue that Aladdin always WAS a prince. After all in the sequel it's revealed that his father is the "king of thieves". Which would, of course, make Aladdin the prince of thieves. In that case all that was left to do for the Genie was give him the looks and the servants. And concerning Mirabelle. I personally think she very much got a gift. And a door to boot. She never was meant to "save" the miracle. She BECAME the miracle. The moment the magic starts to fail is when Mirabelle starts to doubt the miracles power. Doubt herself. And the first one to be affected is Luisa because she admitted to Mirabelle that her power is a burden to her and that she dreams about how it would be to NOT have her power. That is the exact moment Luisa's power starts to fade. Mirabelle's door is the door to the entire house. It's just not revealed until the very end of the movie because she herself, the miracle, thought she didn't HAVE a door. And it's also when she finds the faith in herself and her family, as well as the magic they hold, that the powers return. Of course, none of this is confirmed. I am just stating what I observed.
about why do people not know about why village people don't know about the Beast's castle, that was explained In the Live action remake, the enchantress erased all memories of them as days flowed into years.
in the original Little Mermaid by Hans Christen Anderson Ursula and King Triton are siblings. Mirabel in Encanto didn't receive a special power because she is the heart of the family. she is what keeps them together beating as one unit.
Even as a kid, the whole thing with the Great Stone Dragon always aggravated me. WHY didn't it wake up, what exactly was supposed to happen? And what DID happen to its spirit after Mushu destroyed the statue? Honestly, that whole scene just had me thinking the ancestors were simply nuts, am I the only one who was also bugged by all that?

And if the Great Ancestor could awaken Mushu, why didn't he just awaken the Great Stone Dragon himself? So many questions to be asked because the writers didn't follow through on whatever rules they were trying to establish for the spirits in this world.

5 Maybe Cruella and Anita shared dormitory lodgings at university (where they were assigned rooms, without their own wishes being consulted). Also, Cruella may not have been a fur-freak back then. After all, when Anita asks her casually "Isn't that a new fur coat?" Cruella replies, "Yes, dahling--I live for furs. I worship furs!" as though informing Anita of this for the first time.
I always felt Mirabel was the embodiment of the candle. Her heart was so nice and pure that the house didn’t need a candle anymore.❤️ Moana was a prodigy child. She loved her island and the ocean while also being adventurous. Her heart was so good that the ocean chose her. Simba had plot armour.😂 I always thought Kristoff was an orphan. Anita and Cruella…well we all have toxic friends 😅
Yeah, most of the fairy tales Disney adapted were originally much darker. Examples include Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Tangled, and the list goes on and on.
Did Ariel learn her lesson from her experience with Ursula or not? I understand that Ariel doesn't need to change or grow or have an arc for the Little Mermaid 1989 film to work because Ariel wanted to go to the surface yet Triton is holding her back bacause the surface is a dangerous place. But, in the end, Ariel was proven right and Triton was mistaken because the surface isn't as bad as merpeople make it out to be. But, Ariel still struck a deal with Ursula and put everyone in danger. We all make mistakes. But, you need to learn and grow from your mistake. In fact, when the live action remake was released, I was expecting it to address the critisim. Yet, despite Ariel's apology in the remake being more logical and clear, people, for the most part, didn't praise the remake as the superior film because "Ariel has a redemption arc." Plus, when people talked about the remake and compared it to the original, for the most part, people didn't bring up the critisim of "Ariel doesn't change or learn anything" despite them bring it up years ago. Not even the Nostalgia Critic brought up the critisim again when he reviewed the original film despite him mentioning it back in his review in 2011. So, is it worth getting angry over?

Mirabel was given a gift - she's to take over from her abuela. The encanto exists because of Alma's sacrifice and when she passes Mirabel will take her place as the heart and soul of the encanto. It needs a physical body to be channeled through.

The Moana point is silly - the ocean explicitly tested her. It offered her all the shells she could carry (selfishness) or the chance to help (selflessness). Moana proved herself by being brave enough to journey into the water and willing to sacrifice for the good of another, which is what the ocean was looking for. Someone needs to watch that scene again.

Maybe the Fairy Godmother from Cinderella knew something and created the slippers with her osn magic from nothing, making them a magical item just like her staff. That would explain the only-fit, the non-disappearance at midnight and the falling-off while she ran away. As for Mother Gothel, maybe she sang the lullaby while she was running to keep her silent and, by accident, discovered the way to activate her powers.

Cinderella's Fairy Godmother made sure she had the glass slipper to prove she was indeed the same girl (She would have been the only girl in the kingdom with the matching shoe.). Magic doesn't follow logical rules. You can probably poke holes in every movie's narrative to some degree, but I prefer not to be taken out of the fantasy.

I figured Scar needed the injuries to Mufasa and Simba to be from another animal. If Simba’s injuries were from a lion and he was the one who “found him dead” everyone would know he did it. But trampled or attacked by hyenas, wouldn’t draw that attention.

Frozen II - How did Elsa manage to sing Into the Unknown without waking anyone up? 9. Wish - How old is King Magnifico? 10. The Lion King - What was Scar’s name before he got his scar?
I think the reason scar didn’t do it personally is because he’s that sadistic, he’d rather 3 hyenas rip him apart and it being a more violent death since he hated him so much. Dark but… makes sense
an explanation for Aladdin not being a ruler is - that he didnt specifically state he wanted to rule over others as a prince but hinted that he wooing a girl. technically you can be a prince in name only if you got the wealth which genie did provide

Kinda off-topic, but I was just re-watching Mulan the other day and noticed that with the ancestors the women all look like they would have passed at an elderly age while most of the men looked like they had died much younger around their 30s-50s.
Frozen 3 and 4 are in the works. Maybe one of them will give us more info on Christof. What was the Beast's real name? I doubt his parents named him Beast. When Arial's Begging came out, I thought it would give us more info on what Ursula did to get kicked out of the Kingdom. Sadly, that was not the case.
The Great stone dragon 🐉 is the one I was really puzzled about growing up I’m like why didn’t wake up when Mushu rang the gong? And how would it have helped Mulan? Also the reason Mirabel didn’t receive a gift was because she was the miracle and like the house belonged to her well that’s my theory of the whole thing and hope we get some more explanation into Kristoff’s backstory in the near future.
According to the Cinderella Princessography book the glass slippers required almost no magic at all to change. as such they were allowed to remain as they were

Maui said that the ocean loved it when he pulled out new islands because her people would find them. So when they stopped, the ocean chose Moana, who "loves the sea and her people," to start the tradition again because the rest of her people are content on their island.

It is because her gift is connected to the candle and it’s connected to the fact that her grandmother is the kind of person who is forcing her willand what she wants on those around her and the only one she cannot do that too the only one who kind of stands up to her and Away or rebels against her away as well from the moment before she’s turning that door is in fact Mirabel
It's the question of what happened to Kristoff's parents that keeps going through my head. Did they die? If they're dead, how'd they die? If they're not, what did they do to cause him to be alone?

With regards to Aladdin, his wish to become a Prince kinda did come true, it was just a slow burner. On the other hand, Genie's limitless powers came with it's own rules on specificity. The Djinn of those folk tales were often depicted as cunning tricksters. Maybe Genie knew he couldn't legally make him a Prince, and he just tried to spare his feelings by tricking him into believing it. Or this is just an oversight by an American writer that doesn't know how monarchies work. The definition of a Prince: is both the son or grandson of a reigning Monarch, or the spouse of the Monarch's daughter or granddaughter, a Princess. Prince Consort is the title given to the spouse of a Queen, who in this case is also the reigning Monarch. Since Aladdin was not born a royal, the only way he could legally become one is via marriage. And in order for a royal marriage to be legal, a wedding ceremony must take place. Ie, he couldn't just poof in and declare himself legally married, if there is no bride to corroborate his story. Plus Genie already warned him about his "no falling inlove wishes" rule. Plus, as a Prince of a foreign country, you can't rule over a country that doesn't exist. So either Genie forgot about those limits, or he purposely let true love run it's course the old fashioned way. A true wingman.
It’s really strange how is scar able to kill his own brother but not able to kill his FO before he killed Mufasa he knew the hyenas were stupid but yet he let them do it and there was no evidence. No nothing. All the hyenas did was give him his word maybe scar was as smart as he says he was because when Simba talk to scar in the movie, it’s clear scar doesn’t love him

I don't know if it was an error on Ms. Mojo's part. Both clips were labeled No. 1, including the voice intros. They did not say there was a tie. So far Ms. Mojo has not answered my posted question on this, so I think they will just let it slide.

I have a better Beauty and the Beast question, why is his portrait and the stain glass portraying a man when some clues in the film point to him only being 11 when he was cursed? first clue is that the last petal would fall on his 21st birthday, second clue, Lumiere says its been ten years.

I think there was something said about Ursula in the animated TV series prequel to the animated movie, but I am not sure. I know she did appear there, but if there was something said about her story, I can't remember.
I figured that Mirabel never got a special ability of her own because she functioned as the heart of the family, and brought out the best in them all. Giving her a power would have been redundant.

4: Aladdin WAS made a prince.. It just took a lot longer.. Genie couldn't just make up a whole new kingdom.. So instead he gave him the means to win Jasmine's heart and THAT is how Aladdin became a prince.. By marrying Jasmine

Sometimes friends start off well, but can drift apart as their goals and experiences influence change in their lives. In Cruella and Anita's case, it's possible Cruella just grew into a very toxic person that Anita tries to distance herself from, but just can't bring herself to officially end the friendship.

yes, could be because of that, thanks; because as a child I always wondered: how they can still be friends, especially with someone like Cruella! and I do see Anita tried to distance herself from Cruella, but she can't find a way to tell her, no one could. And it's also really strange that no one in the village notices Belle's absence (although in the live action they do, and they assume that she fled, associating it with Maurice's possible madness)
They probably don't notice bells absence because she always keeps to herself. She has no friends or talks to anyone.

In the live action 101 Dalmatians it gave Cruella and Anita a more plausible relationship of employer and employee. I was also glad to see Anita stand beside Roger and tell Cruella that the puppies were not for sale.
Technically the wish did work. Aladdin married Princess Jasmine, which made him officially a prince. Genie went the long way to grant the wish.
My theory is that when Aladdin wished to be prince, Genie knew the only way to do that is for Aladdin to marry a princess but there was no way for Aladdin to get even close to Jasmine if he stayed the way he was, so Genie made Aladdin into Prince Ali to fool the kingdom, get into the castle, and to get to Jasmine.
I think the reason why the wish didn't make aladdin a literal prince of some country is because the wish is superficial. Some wishes like Aladdin are rescued from drowning or freeing the genie go beyond. whereas wishing to be a prince can change how you look on the outside as well as how you're perceived, but the social status doesn't change.
So how Jafar became a sultan?
We'll actually in later movies you find out that his father is the King of Thieves so technically that would make Aladdin the prince of Thieves, so he was already a prince
The real question of Moana is...
Why does The Ocean keep flipping back and forth in helping her? At one moment, it protects her. At another moment, there is a ranging sea storm. Plus it could have thwarted those little pirate pigmy things easily just by capsizing their ships. 🤷
I stand by that Mirabel wiped the magic off on herself before touching the door knob. Thus making the miracle herself. She’s extremely talented in sewing, singing, musical interments, and emotional intelligence. She can heal the broken emotional bonds within her family bc her gift got internalized. And since everyone else had external gifts, or gifts that helped outward problems, everyone else was blind to the internal talents and gifts. When she succeeded in healing her family and the candle was made new , she got another chance at a door. And since it was putting a knob in a frame, she didn’t have the chance to do anything else. So her magic went into the house, revitalizing everyone’s gifts.

The Lion King sticks with the storyline of Hamlet. Simba has to be alive to seek revenge on Scar. I also think Scar never planned to get his hands/paws dirty unless he had to.
This again... The Lion King has extremely little in common with Hamlet. Scar doesn't kill Simba because Scar is a cruel jerk who "likes to play with his food," which is spelled out by Zazu when Scar is introduced. So Scar torments Simba with a lie and sends the hyenas immediately afterward. Unlike Simba, Scar is also too vain to learn from his mistakes, which is why he loses at the end, by confessing and enraging Simba when he could have thrown the prince off the cliff.
Mirabel has abuela's connection to the house. She's the only one that interacts with the house the way Abeula does. She doesn't get a room because the house is hers. I thought that was obvious.

Scar used the hyenas as a control tactic. If they ever got out of line, he could say that they killed Simba and the lions would kill them. Just my opinion

9.the deleted songs imply genie couldn't just create a kingdom and more he gave aladdin the look but couldn't change inside.

The glass slippers were the only thing that wasn't made from anything ordinary. In the original story, the shoes were meant to be reminders of her night out, and proof she was the mystery princess. So IF the prince starts looking for the mystery girl.

Also, he didn't "leave" the ice-cutters...they left *him* behind. They didn't seem to care whether he lived or died, so when one of the lady trolls decided to keep him (along with Sven), the ice-cutters hardly noticed he was gone. Seems to me that most of those guys had worked with ice a bit too long, which gave *them* frozen hearts!

You could also argue that Aladdin always WAS a prince. After all in the sequel it's revealed that his father is the "king of thieves". Which would, of course, make Aladdin the prince of thieves. In that case all that was left to do for the Genie was give him the looks and the servants.
And concerning Mirabelle. I personally think she very much got a gift. And a door to boot. She never was meant to "save" the miracle. She BECAME the miracle. The moment the magic starts to fail is when Mirabelle starts to doubt the miracles power. Doubt herself. And the first one to be affected is Luisa because she admitted to Mirabelle that her power is a burden to her and that she dreams about how it would be to NOT have her power. That is the exact moment Luisa's power starts to fade.
Mirabelle's door is the door to the entire house. It's just not revealed until the very end of the movie because she herself, the miracle, thought she didn't HAVE a door. And it's also when she finds the faith in herself and her family, as well as the magic they hold, that the powers return.
Of course, none of this is confirmed. I am just stating what I observed.

one thing I always liked about the live action remake of Beauty&the Beast is that the enchantresses curse erased the villagers memories also as great as Encanto was the fact that Mirabel didn't get a gift and they never explained why always bugged me

5 Maybe Cruella and Anita shared dormitory lodgings at university (where they were assigned rooms, without their own wishes being consulted). Also, Cruella may not have been a fur-freak back then. After all, when Anita asks her casually "Isn't that a new fur coat?" Cruella replies, "Yes, dahling--I live for furs. I worship furs!" as though informing Anita of this for the first time.

Yeah, most of the fairy tales Disney adapted were originally much darker. Examples include Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Tangled, and the list goes on and on.
Did Ariel learn her lesson from her experience with Ursula or not?
I understand that Ariel doesn't need to change or grow or have an arc for the Little Mermaid 1989 film to work because Ariel wanted to go to the surface yet Triton is holding her back bacause the surface is a dangerous place. But, in the end, Ariel was proven right and Triton was mistaken because the surface isn't as bad as merpeople make it out to be. But, Ariel still struck a deal with Ursula and put everyone in danger. We all make mistakes. But, you need to learn and grow from your mistake.
In fact, when the live action remake was released, I was expecting it to address the critisim. Yet, despite Ariel's apology in the remake being more logical and clear, people, for the most part, didn't praise the remake as the superior film because "Ariel has a redemption arc." Plus, when people talked about the remake and compared it to the original, for the most part, people didn't bring up the critisim of "Ariel doesn't change or learn anything" despite them bring it up years ago. Not even the Nostalgia Critic brought up the critisim again when he reviewed the original film despite him mentioning it back in his review in 2011.
So, is it worth getting angry over?
1. the live action Cinderella's glass slippers did come from actual flat slip-on's but those didn't change back as well
2. one theory in the Great Stone Dragon was that Mushu tried to wake it up with the sun light already up
3. it would make sense for Belle & Maurice to not know since "Belle" lyrics mentioned they are basically newcomers
4. Triton & Ursula being siblings have long been mentioned in "The Little Mermaid" merch way before the live action movie
5. seriously though even the "Tangled" series doesn't reveal much background on the Sun- & Moondrops, only the cult

Mirabel was given a gift - she's to take over from her abuela. The encanto exists because of Alma's sacrifice and when she passes Mirabel will take her place as the heart and soul of the encanto.

The Moana point is silly - the ocean explicitly tested her. It offered her all the shells she could carry (selfishness) or the chance to help (selflessness). Moana proved herself by being brave enough to journey into the water and willing to sacrifice for the good of another, which is what the ocean was looking for.

Cinderella's Fairy Godmother made sure she had the glass slipper to prove she was indeed the same girl (She would have been the only girl in the kingdom with the matching shoe.). Magic doesn't follow logical rules. You can probably poke holes in every movie's narrative to some degree, but I prefer not to be taken out of the fantasy.
My interpretations
1: in the live action remake the fairy godmother mentions that she's "quite good at shoes" so maybe that's it. Also the shoes were the only things that weren't transfigured from something else. Everything else returned to its original form but the shoes didn't have an original form.
2. He was King now and he enjoyed ordering around the hyenas
3. I always believed that the great stone Dragon was never actually a spirit just the Fa family believed it was. That's why it couldn't awaken

I figured Scar needed the injuries to Mufasa and Simba to be from another animal. If Simba’s injuries were from a lion and he was the one who “found him dead” everyone would know he did it. But trampled or attacked by hyenas, wouldn’t draw that attention.

I think the reason scar didn’t do it personally is because he’s that sadistic, he’d rather 3 hyenas rip him apart and it being a more violent death since he hated him so much. Dark but… makes sense
an explanation for Aladdin not being a ruler is - that he didnt specifically state he wanted to rule over others as a prince but hinted that he wooing a girl. technically you can be a prince in name only if you got the wealth which genie did provide

Maui said that the ocean loved it when he pulled out new islands because her people would find them. So when they stopped, the ocean chose Moana, who "loves the sea and her people," to start the tradition again because the rest of her people are content on their island.

With regards to Aladdin, his wish to become a Prince kinda did come true, it was just a slow burner. On the other hand, Genie's limitless powers came with it's own rules on specificity. The Djinn of those folk tales were often depicted as cunning tricksters. Maybe Genie knew he couldn't legally make him a Prince, and he just tried to spare his feelings by tricking him into believing it. Or this is just an oversight by an American writer that doesn't know how monarchies work. The definition of a Prince: is both the son or grandson of a reigning Monarch, or the spouse of the Monarch's daughter or granddaughter, a Princess. Prince Consort is the title given to the spouse of a Queen, who in this case is also the reigning Monarch. Since Aladdin was not born a royal, the only way he could legally become one is via marriage. And in order for a royal marriage to be legal, a wedding ceremony must take place. Ie, he couldn't just poof in and declare himself legally married, if there is no bride to corroborate his story. Plus Genie already warned him about his "no falling inlove wishes" rule. Plus, as a Prince of a foreign country, you can't rule over a country that doesn't exist. So either Genie forgot about those limits, or he purposely let true love run it's course the old fashioned way. A true wingman.
