Is there any administrative fees when coming to roehl?
No.
Though I paid the fee when I got my CLP. I also paid out of pocket for steel toed shoes. The cost of training is 100% covered.
Hello I have a class A CDL out of Arizona Phoenix I haven't used it in 15 years, Ive been a phoenix bus drive for that time. I drove belly dumps for about 7 months zero tickets
Most carriers want verifiable recent experience with a tractor-trailer. You'll probably have to go through some training before you can operate a class A vehicle.
@@BullseyeBob So I'm thinking a refresh training
@@BullseyeBob There is a Roehl terminal down the street where i live
@@eddiecastro5088 Not sure what your question is. Please call a recruiter for details.....good luck!!
Are all vehicles used to train automatic?
Yes. GYCDL could be a manual but Phase 2 are automatics.
@@BullseyeBob thanks
Are you still driving?
Yes.....not at Roehl though. I'm an owner-operator now.
Solo flatbedder here. My top bunk is laundry and snack storage, and my passenger seat is home to about 8 million spare bungies, and a 5 gallon bucket. I'm looking to go down the trainer route in about a month or so, so I'm going to have to do a little house cleaning pretty soon lol.
Oh the struggle!! Yes, never enough room in the truck for the extras that make work and life easier. Good luck brother and stay safe out there!!
@AirGunner Bob_O Thanks brother, you too. I've been with Roehl since May, love the work, and have (almost) no complaints lol. I'm looking forward to taking that next step and training new flatbedders.
@@danak8863 It's fun and rewarding if you and the trainee get along. I had two bad ones in a row and I stopped training after that. Shame because the first two were great!!
@@BullseyeBobwas it a good money increase to train?
Very nice truck. Marquette is nice, I miss going up there with my old job. I have a call with a Roehl recruiter in about an hour.
How did it go Jason?
@@BullseyeBob It went well, I just can't get my CLP until the end of August because that is the first available appointment with the state. Way to much time to think about whether to go this route. Wil Trans is also an option for me. I've talked to them too.
Im going into the rhoel program. Id like you to be my trainer if your available at the time I finish :)
Would be great but I'm not at Roehl at the moment. Might come back as an experienced driver or Instructor but for the time being I need to be home more often and for more days than Roehl could accommodate.
@@BullseyeBob Ohh i see. well your great. Take care :)
Great tour, thank you!
I start at the end of this month in GA!
That's awesome!! Good luck and let me know howbthings go for you!!
I have a question, what was that device on the windshield, was that a camera or lane assist?
Its both....also a rain sensor.
@@BullseyeBob cool, and thank you for your response.
Do they come with optimal idel?
Yes they do.
Can you explain the inward facing camera a bit? Greatly appreciated
The camera only records if:
1. There is a collision
2. Excessive or prolonged speeding
3. Tailgating
4. Running red lights
5. Running stop signs
6. Hard brakes
7. Lane change without a signal
@@BullseyeBobHow does an inward facing camera know you ran a stop sign? And how does any camera know to start recording if you run a stop sign? So, if it sees a red object similar to a stop sign how does it know the difference? Sounds like BS they tell you. That camera is always recording. That truck is your living quarters. Who wants a camera watching them in their "home"? One driver commented that he covered the camera with a shirt when he went off duty and had someone from the company call him asking why he covered the camera. If it doesn't watch you 24/7, how did they know it was covered?
Is it a automatic truck
Yes
Do they have an APU?
Yep.
I was with Navajo Express for 1 year. Your truck on the inside looks similar to the truck I had at Navajo Express. I am a local driver now. Good video!! ROHEL TRANSPORT has been trying to hire me for the past few weeks, but I am content on where I am.
@Joe Disappointed actually Navajo was good to me bud. I enjoyed my 1 year there!!
@Joe Disappointed home terminal is in Denver, Colorado.
@Joe Disappointed beautiful state bud!! I've been there numerous times.
@Joe Disappointed I hear you bud. I live in the south. I been here all my life.
Just applied, exited to start training 🔥
Excellent!!
Just finished my application. Looking forward to driving for Roehl.
Same here man
Im Tired of factory work
@@erikwilliamson1834 I hear you man. I've been unemployed since COVID-19 started throwing people out of jobs. Plus trucking has been a childhood dream.
Hey ,what's your driver code , I want to tell the recruiter that your videos played a big part in why I chose roehl
Referrals only count for experienced drivers but thank you anyway!
@@BullseyeBob why does it seem like everybody leaves roehl and goes somewhere else to drive , my last job was 12yrs ,I dont like jumping jobs , do u think it's bad money ,or unrealistic money goals or what ? I chose roehl and like I said ,I dont like job jumping
@@johnbesse7737 ill put in my 2 cents real quick. They seem like a good company its just the pay is low
@@sneed915 yeah , I think it will be a good starter company, I'll put my time in and see how things are going
I’m going for the same! Can’t wait, do the truck come in automatic?
I start classes on the 18th my recruiter ask if I wanted to train in a automatic or manual
When you get into Phase 2, 99% chance the truck will be an automatic.
Roehl has been transitioning to automatics for the last three years. One or two more years and all the manuals will be phased out most likely.
Yeah my recruiter asked me If I prefer a automatic or manual to train on. I said automatic because I'd assume it's less difficult and a lot of companies are switching to automatic he said.
Are you training on a manual or automatic?
So to start the schooling you need a cdp first correct ?
Yes. But you can't get one until after you get a medical card. Roehl arranges for that and covers the cost.
@@BullseyeBob so they cover the cost of you're commercial drivers permit? And also do they do and programs with getting to school. Closest one to me is Chicago 5 hours from me.
@@Aaron-pq3xj No, they cover the cost of the medical exam. Gary Indiana, Appleton and Marshfield Wisconsin are the main training terminals.
