Stu you nailed it with this one bud! The meta isn't shifting as far as performance, but as you see the sheer versatility of this vessel, the diversity of build types is flourishing! Including for fun builds like FAWFUN!! The replayablity of this ship makes it's value high in my opinion, it has access to a good amount of "kitbash" options, and can provide enjoyable play experiences for a variety of player styles... I am very happy with this ship overall!!
definitely liking this format. You could also buff inertia to help as well. down side is there are only two consoles that buff inertia and the one trait. Usually I would use the trait and the console from the terran defiant.
i would be interested in seeing the full build of that B-FAW - im glad to see that sto has boosted B-FAW potential but im still working on improving my forward bias FAW build and so wondering what you went with
A lot of it is my usual Beam Overload stuff, just modified for FaW. So, swapped out Superweapon Ingenuity for ETM and Preferential Targeting for Ruin of Our Enemies. Consoles are also mostly the same, I just added the Excelsior II console.
It was interesting to see several builds presented for a change . For the last year or so, that has been missing for the majority of the player base, as the Deeps crowd sailed away on the Unconventional Systems boats ... -- an exclusive pond in which I'm guessing that at least at least 60-70% of the players are not playing in .
This would mostly be a ship I'd want for kitbashing my Galaxy variants more than anything, but that Cannon Scatter Volley build was very impressive (and that's coming from someone who normally only uses cannons for single-target builds). But side note, did they change it so you can equip multiple omni-beams? Or is that a quirk of Juggernaut types? I thought all ships were limited to one omni-beam at a time.
PLEASE get Cryptic to fix the saucer on the Galaxy class, the bottom row of windows or what is sometimes called the saucer deflector, is missing. Has been broken since the Legendary Galaxy Dreadnought was released as they seem to have mixed the saucers up for the one that is meant to have the lance. It really bothers me and the tickets I put in get closed.
Hey Stu have you ever considered going over different types of PVP builds for STO? Like a dps shield tank or speed tanking in a escort. I thought of this because you mentioned how there's BO builds there's FAW builds there's EPG builds and there's torpedo builds. Which covers most of the build types. You do get similar things with PVP but how you fight each one and approach each one is vastly different than pve. Ships that are odd with their bridge layout or not as powerful as they used to be (Annorax) can find a new deadly use.
Hey Stu! When you were showcasing the FaW build, what did you do to make ur beams fire as if they were overloaded during that? I saw you clicked something then the normal FaW mode became empowered as if beam overload was on but still FaW mode.
That was probably the Experimental Power Redirection, the console off the Excelsior II. I got over that a bit in my Excelsior II build video I did recently, but I plan to do some more playing around with it for a future video.
My friends all think I'm crazy until they see my ship in action, but I fly an Adamant without using any of the specialization seating, just the basic eng, sci, tac buff abilities. I run BO3/RF3 as my primaries (with the two extending traits) and get somewhere in range of 750k-1m DPS, depending on the run.
that is a bit crazy, but the Adamant is a very powerful ship, I'm not surprised you can get that much damage out of it even without the specialization seating.
@@Stu1701 yeah i was gifted one by Fyrestrider. I've been buzzing around ESD getting a feel for it and I love it. Turns slightly better than my Cygnus.
The trait currently stacks with multiple firing modes. If you’re using 3 firing modes, that’s up to 150% cat1 increase. If that’s intended, it’s quite good. If not, it’s still quite good, but maybe not for long.
I hadn't heard about that. Being able to stack would make this trait much more useful, but the tooltip saying nothing about stacking, which makes me thing that's unintended and will probably be patched.
With this video I demonstrated multiple build that this ship can pull off. I didn't get into too much detail on the individual builds because they're all things I've done on this channel before. So if you're looking for a specific build, check out one of my older build video that you'd want to put on this ship, and adapt it to this seating.
I still to this day use beam fire at will with ba'ul antiprotons on a gagarin battlecruiser and I have no plans to stop because I think when it fires its beautiful. Beams.... all the beams. The Zheng He is a MW battlecruiser with a secondary Intel seat, so it would be better for Beam Overload, but that's all it has over the World Razer. The World Razer is bascially a bigger, meaner Temporal Light Cruiser; less maneuverable than the TLC, but definitely has more Damage potential. Temporal Donnie doesn't have a Command seat for Concentrate Firepower III, so I don't know why you're running torps on that. If you're talking the Legendary Galaxy X, its a little similar. The Galaxy X is a dreadnought, so it's going to have a Commander level Eng seat and a hangar bay, while the World Razer (being a Juggernaut) will have a Commander level Tac seat, but not hangar. The Dreadnought will have a phaser lance, the Jugg will have the Juggernaut array; both deal phaser damage, but the Jugg's array is definitely more powerful. Both have a Lt.Cmdr Command seat so they can run torp builds, but the Gal X is a full Intel ship while the WR is a Temporal ship. Intel well be better for energy weapons if you're using Surgical Strikes. Temporal will grant access to Recursive Shearing, is potentially extremely powerful. Overall, both are somewhat similar, but the World Razer is much more well rounded, you can throw Temporal on pretty much anything and it'll be useful, really can't say that about any of the other specs. Would you recommend holding our breaths for a new "Legendary" Galaxy if they make it for honor to Picard and hoping it's a Miracle class? Personally, i think the World Razer is the best version of the Galaxy in the game, stats-wise. It's different than the other Galaxy variants because it's a Juggernaut, so it has more tactical focused seating. All the others are some kind of cruiser, so they focus on engineering seating. That said, it is still a lock box ship, so it's going to be more difficult/expensive to obtain the the others. I wouldn't hold out hope for another Galaxy variant any time soon. The World Razer is still fairly new, and it can still use the original Galaxy skin, so there's little reason for them to make another, even for the sake of Season 3 of Picard. If they're going to do something for S3, it'll likely be the Constitution III. I kinda hope they do another Odyssey variant too, but I doubt that'll happen because of how many there already are in STO.
I've already decided that if I do get this in a pull I'm not keeping it. I have 0 character I feel it would mesh with (I tend to play STO for the fun missions and RP, so ships are only really important to me for RP stuff) and I would probably just give it to my friend who has been drooling for it ever since it was announced.
