I’m in love with this emerald set. Queen Mary looks so grand with that tiara and dress. The other elements she is wearing just enhance this regal look. She is a beautiful woman and she wears all of those jewels beautifully.
That green lace and velvet dress on Queen Mary looks amazing! The emerald set is absolutely gorgeous! Shes similar to the PoW in that almost every look is something to behold! Thanks, Brittany! ❤
Our Mary and Princess Catherine get on very well, have similar personalities, honour their husbands and countries, have worked very hard to learn all the royal protocols, etc for the position they know they were marrying into.....and on top of all that, Mary learned to speak the language fluently.
Thank you for the nice video! Queen Mary looks absolutely stunning and 100% regal in those pictures. I’ve just noticed that she and Queen Margrethe often wear gowns made of velvet and it’s quite unique among other royals but it makes such a perfect background for all those jewels and regalia they wear! Looking forward to your new podcast!
Gorgeous emerald parietal of Denmark and Queen Mary looks stunning in that forest colored lace and silk velvet gown!!! This portrait of Queen Mary is beautifully composed with a sumptuous background! ♥️♥️♥️
Now this is the best tiara I have ever seen, absolutely beautiful and feminine, stunning with her dark hair, perfectly complemented by her dress and ear rings and necklace. She is dignified and regal.
Queen Mary is a beautiful woman and wearing the Emerald parure solidifies her position. Looking forward to seeing the Naasut tiara, against her hair 😉 hello from Denmark 🌸
The photo is outstanding! Queen Mary looks beautiful and classy. You can see her inner strength! She will make a wonderful Queen. The Danish people are lucky to have her as their Queen. The tiara is breathtaking. I love green - so this just great looking tiara. Also Queen Mary outfit matched the jewelry perfectly!. Thank you for the history lesson ❤. BTW, can you explain what are the significant of those broaches and the necklace and those ribbons (not sure what you called them).
A "parure" is a set of jewellery pieces, similarly styled made to be worn together. Of course, not all pieces need to be worn at the same time. A "parure tiara" is a tiara that is part of a set.
Yes, but sometimes it’s a bit confusing as well, so I won’t always add the tiara but it was the main focus here and probably what people were searching! Thanks for watching!!
@@pwhorselover other than the Emeralds, Denmark has three parures in the Crown Jewel collection. The others are a set of pearls and rubies (a different set than Queen Mary’s usual), the diamond set (or Brilliant-sættet as it is called in Danish, which is estimated to be the most valuable in the collection), and the rather mysterious Rosette set (mysterious because it’s a mystery how it used to be worn). The Emeralds are however the only set in the Danish Crown Jewels that includes a tiara. But in the royal collection there are other parures as well. Queen Mary’s rubies and the Pearl Poire set.
Queen Mary looked regal in green. It was love at first sight when I saw her dress. I loved the Danish emerald parure tiara, Its so beautiful. Thank you so much for the history of the parure. Now that I saw King Frederik X and Queen Mary's Portraits, I don't know If King Charles III and Queen Camilla can top that.
If she ever like wear a light green or like white like Princess Eugenie on her wedding day would make this set exquisite. Still Queen Mary is very regal.
Have litterally been waiting for you to make a video on Queen Mary wearing the Emeralds. Not at all disappointed ❤ Can’t wait for your videos on King Frederik and Queen Mary’s State visits to Sweden and Norway this month ❤
Queen Mary looks gorgeous and regal. Green is not my favorite color but this looks fabulous on her. I do agree with others that the necklace gets lost in the lace. I also loved her red velvet dress!!! Red is my signature color. 😍
Great vlog RFN! So lovely to hear about the emerald tiara - I have been wondering about it when I first saw photos of her wearing it, so it's wonderful to LEARN about it. A much better video than hearing the same old boring stuff that's been said here about the Sussexes over and over, yawn! Keep them off your vlogs and I'll be back to hear and hopefully LEARN more about royal families other than the boring British ones!🥰
I had the privilege of seeing this emerald set displayed at the Rosenberg Castle(pretty sure this is the one I saw or similar?) In Copenhagen when I visited about 2 weeks ago^^
As an Australian 🇦🇺 I am so proud of Mary, she has honoured our country And her husbands contry, by being so dedicated to learn the royal protocols, how to act in public, how to even speak the language.... and now has the incredible position as Queen of Denmark....she has 4 beautiful children, who are following in their parents footsteps to work for their country..... if only Harry had married someone even half as good as our Mary ❤❤❤❤❤❤, and all the photos ive seen, Mary and Catherine get on very well together, walking behind their husbands, never pulling or pushing them anywhere!!!
Such a great thing to be remembered by, When Queen Margarite said "We don't count the carats, we count the centuries"... magnificent pride in being Queen of a country and caring for the people, the culture, the history, the castles and jewellery, so it is passed on, remembered, and comes out for celebrations.❤❤
We love Mary and she has created a greater relationship between Denmark and Australia. Which was the original purpose of royals marrying people from other countries. ❤️❤️❤️ Yes, she and Catherine gets along very well. Hopefully, after the Nordic countries, the next monarchy the Danish King and Queen will go on a State visit to, is the UK. I believe that the close ties between the two oldest monarchies of Europe should be upheld.
My absolute favourite will always be the Danish ruby parure tiara but Queen Mary also looks stunning in the emerald set. I can't wait to see her wear the Naasut tiara. I think the yellow gold floral motifs will contrast strikingly with her dark tresses. I don't know how she does it but Queen Mary seems to make just about anything she wears look so effortlessly elegant and stylish.
The rubies are also very special and have a unique history. Not sure if she can wear the Naasut tiara yet, though. It was after all a gift for Queen Margrethe.
The Naasut tiara is queen Margrethe's personal property. She might lend it to the queen, but I don't think that is likely to happen, given how many tiaras the queen has at her dispoal.
Queen Margrethe II was the first Queen regent in Denmark (before her, only men could inherit the throne), but because there was an earlier Queen Margrethe, she decided that she would be called “the second”. The first Queen Margrethe was a Danish princess, who married a Norweigan king, and thus became queen of Norway. But when her husband in Norway and her father, the King of Denmark, both died, she became the guardian of her son, Olaf, who was very young, and thus in his place she reigned over both Norway, Sweden and Denmark. When her son also died, she adopted a son of a relative, Erik, and also reigned in his place. Queen Margrethe I reigned the Nordic countries from 1387 to 1412. It is true that the reigning kings of Denmark alternates between the names Christian and Frederik, but it was “spoiled” already from the very beginning, when it all started with a King Christian - then a King Hans,- a King Christian II, and only then a Frederik I, Christian III, Frederik II, Christian IV, Frederik III, etc. So when Queen Margrethe II became queen and already “interfering” with the then order of the Christians and Frederiks, she decided to straigthen out the numbers of the kings to come, naming her son Frederik instead of Christian, now King Frederik X, and so he named his son Christian instead of Frederik and he will later be King Christian X. But then, of course, today it is possible in Denmark to have reigning queens, and in that way the orderly names of the regents will probably be “ruined” anyway.
Mary looks amazing. The style of her dress reminds me a little of portraits of Tudor ladies, Mary I especially. Queen Mary of Denmark is a lot more attractive though.
Queen Margrethe II was the first queen regnant in recent times, how she got there is quite a story between her father Frederick IX and his brother Knud.....Brittany - if you want to branch out from jewels and fashion into historical family drama - this would be a good one. Thanks for this and all your videos, they are awesome and feed my jewelry loving soul.
Can you tell us the process of wearing the jewels? Where are they stored? How are they selected for each event? Do stylists fasten the crowns onto one's head so everything stays in place? How are they removed, and put away? Thank you for your videos!
These particular jewels are not just one of the regular sets of the royal jewel collection. They are part of the Danish Crown Jewels. Meaning they are not the personal property of the royal family. They belong to the Danish State. But the only person who can wear them, is the current Queen. The Danish Crown Jewels mainly consist of four parure. A diamond one, a rosette one, a ruby and pearl one (a different one than Mary’s regular rubies) and finally this set of emeralds. The three first were bequethed to the Danish State by Queen Sophia Magdalena (wife of King Christian the VI), because she was sad about that Denmark did not have any Crown Jewels. This were changed now, and these sets have since then only been worn by thr current Queen. The Emeralds were added later and is the only one of the sets that include a tiara. When not in use, the Crown Jewels are part of a permanent exhibit in the vault at Rosenborg Palace in Copenhagen, along side the rest of the jewels in the collection and the royal regalia (crown, sceptor, globe and sword). The regalia are only taken out of the exhibit, upon the death of a monarch, and while they are lying in state, these are set up next to the coffin. Along with three lion statues also exhibited in the throne room at Rosenborg. The Palace is open to the public. They are only worn on special occasions and the court has to coordinate with Rosenborg, whenever they are to be removed from the exhibit. The royals work with their personal hair stylists to find ways to set the tiaras in the hair, in ways to make sure they stay in place. The earrings are incredibly heavy and the wearer needs extra support to be able to keep them in place. Which are done with hooks that goes around the ear. Otherwise they are clip-ons. Queen Mary selects what jewelry she wants to wear and now that she is Queen, she has more at her disposal than before.
I can’t wait for Queen Mary to wear more of the Royal Jewels that are ear marked for the Queen-I want to see Mary in that diamond floral tiara that wraps all the way around the head! Tiaras look best on dark hair IMO!
This tiara somehow looks larger on Mary than it did on QMargrethe, probably due to hair colour and positioning. I wonder if Mary will wear the emerald parure only as a set as her MiL did or if she will mix and match the pieces with other jewels. She really freshened up the Danish Ruby Parure (the earrings were made more adaptable as were other pieces, I believe) but that parure is the personal property of her husband. The emerald set belongs to the nation so I very much doubt that she would be able to tinker with any of those pieces, even if she’s so inclined. I’m sure the end result would be very nice - she has good taste - but it’s a moot point. I’m very curious to see how she will wear it to events in the years to come!
I love, love, love this set and I'm thrilled Queen Mary is starting to wear it. I wasn't thrilled with the dress, though. I thought it was too fussy with all the lace. Queen Mary seems to choose clothing that showcases the beauty of the stones she wears (i.e. turquoise and amethysts, which the Danes have some of the best - if not THE best in Europe). Yes, she looked regal, but I was still surprised by this choice of dress for her first time wearing the emeralds. It didn't seem consistent with her style.
One thing I hate is when toyal ladies wear full sets. It's all way too much, and I really dislike matchy matchu jewlery anyways. I get it, it's an official portrait, but it's sooooooo much, that it looks garish. But Mary is my favorite, and I love when you showcase her.
The emerald parure set is stunning but I don’t think the gown allows it to shine. The necklace is completely lost on the dark, high lace, which is lovely. I would have liked to see it worn with a lower cut neckline or a sheer top so the necklace could be appreciated. Love Tiara Tuesday!
Sweet! When you talk tiaras, could you please preface it with just 10 seconds of Amy on Big Bang when freaking out about a tiara ? ⁉️ You’ve shared it previously and it’s golden 🌟🌟🌟
I’m in love with this emerald set. Queen Mary looks so grand with that tiara and dress. The other elements she is wearing just enhance this regal look. She is a beautiful woman and she wears all of those jewels beautifully.
Couldn't agree more - she is as stunning as the jewels!
WOW!!!! That is a beautiful tiara. And she is so beautiful herself. She looks very regal, like Catherine, princess of Wales ❤
The emerald tiara is gorgeous! I love Queen Mary’s dark green amazing gown… stunning!
She looks like a queen…dignified, impeccably dressed and covered in dazzling jewels. Gorgeous
Oh Queen Mary you do your nation and yourself proud, hugs from Australia.🇦🇺🇦🇺🙏🙏🌹🌹
Thanks. Queen Mary looks stunning.
Her outfit looked like a throwback to Queen Margrethe's dark green gown- an exquisite nod to timeless style!
An absolutely gorgeous Tiara. Queen Mary of Denmark wore it beautifully. Everything worked seamlessly.
Queen Mary looks so lovely in emerald. The tiara is so beautiful too!
Agreed. We can really see the tiara’s design details in her lovely brunette hair. The scrollwork is beautiful!
That green lace and velvet dress on Queen Mary looks amazing! The emerald set is absolutely gorgeous!
Shes similar to the PoW in that almost every look is something to behold! Thanks, Brittany! ❤
I totally agree! The emeralds looked amazing!
Our Mary and Princess Catherine get on very well, have similar personalities, honour their husbands and countries, have worked very hard to learn all the royal protocols, etc for the position they know they were marrying into.....and on top of all that, Mary learned to speak the language fluently.
So proud Queen Mary of Denmark is our very own born and bred Aussie girl !!!!
Oh, I love this tiara! The emeralds are beautiful!
She looks beautiful. No one measures up to her, and the Tiara is beautiful
Everything about her entire look is perfection. It’s a beautiful portrait.
Gorgeous emerald parietal of Denmark and Queen Mary looks stunning in that forest colored lace and silk velvet gown!!! This portrait of Queen Mary is beautifully composed with a sumptuous background! ♥️♥️♥️
Love the quote at the end! I was sad when the past few videos didn’t have it.
Queen Mary is stunning and so regal!

Now this is the best tiara I have ever seen, absolutely beautiful and feminine, stunning with her dark hair, perfectly complemented by her dress and ear rings and necklace. She is dignified and regal.

You are correct, Queen Mary looks regal (besides looking quite lovely). Love the tiara with that dress.
I was so excited to see her wearing this tiara, I knew it would be soon after she was proclaimed Queen of Denmark. She really looks beautiful in it.

These Parure tiara sets are fairly rare? I believe this is the first that I’ve seen. Stunning!

Love your channel! The tiaras and the fashion are my favourite! Love all the history. Thanks Britney x
I love emeralds, they are beautiful stones.
I think Mary is loving being Queen!
I think the necklace is lost in the lace. She looks gorgeous.
If she ever like wear a light green or like white like Princess Eugenie on her wedding day would make this set exquisite. Still Queen Mary is very regal.
I agree!
The emerald set is exquisite, and Queen Mary is beautiful, but I think the lace decolletage overpowered the necklace.
Definitely a statement of regal serene grace. I love the emeralds, as are ny favourite.
Love Mary's dress, love the color green, and love this set of jewels!!! Stunning!!! ❤
Queen Mary is so beautiful and emeralds certainly become her!
This tiara is gorgeous. Plus the necklace and earrings. Queen Mary looks beautiful. The set is stunning

Queen Margrethe has worn this set frequently. Both Queens look fabulous in it.
You are on a roll with these RFN videos!

Actually she isn’t wearing the full set here. The brooch is missing.
I want her to wear it often!
So beautiful ❤
It would be awesome if you promoted this channel more! This channel is far superior to your other channel!
Beautiful
The emerald parure set is stunning but I don’t think the gown allows it to shine. The necklace is completely lost on the dark, high lace, which is lovely. I would have liked to see it worn with a lower cut neckline or a sheer top so the necklace could be appreciated. Love Tiara Tuesday!
