Thank you! I've never harvested bunny tails seeds from my plants. Because I do cut flower production when the bunny tails have bloomed all of the good stems out I have to take that out and put something else in their place.
Wait until the flower tufts have dried up and are more blonde in colour, snip the heads off and put them in an envelope, shake the envelope regularly over a few weeks and you have the seeds.
Im about to prick out a flat of BT grass to 2.5" pots. Im in zone 3. Once transplanted into the ground or grow bed, how big around will each individual plant get within my 120 day grow season? Im just trying to get an idea how dense to plant them. For a patio pot, say 8" across, how many would I need to fill out the pot?
That's a hard question to answer they can get about a foot wide in the best growing conditions some plants can grow wider then that if they really like where they are growing. Soil conditions, weather conditions, what they are feed can all affect how they grow. I hope that helps you.
Very informative, you cover so many plants. Every time I get a new seed pack I research “how to grow” videos, which usually you have a video covering the plant. I’m growing strawflower, bunny tail grass, craspedia, and Russian sage all for the first time this year, your videos are very helpful. Would love to see a tour of your greenhouse, also was wondering how the Russian Sage you planted are doing. Thank you Carrie!
Thank you. I am happy to hear that you find the videos helpful. I am working a video tour of the greenhouses. We are in winter right now so I'm not sure how the Russian sage plants will be when spring comes. Your welcome!
Thank you! Exactly what i needed to know. ( first time growing one )
Thank you so helpful. I've think I have way to many. I think I'll grow them on and give them away. I'm in the UK and really pleased to have found you.
So helpful as always, Carrie ☺️ thank you x
Nice 👍
Great video…. Would love to see the last step of when it’s time to harvest bunny tail seeds for growing the next year!

Thank you for your video. Do you have a video on how to collect the seeds to start a new crop for next year? Thanks
Your welcome. No I don't have a video on how to collect bunny tail seeds.
This is what I’m looking for too!

Can you show how to harvest the seed for bunny tails, do you just pull the flower head apart after it's gone brown?

@carriesgardeningchannel856 It's good to know the plants' potential, thanks.
You're welcome!
Hey how do you know where to cut them so that they’ll grow back
Can they be planted outside? I live in Ireland. Oceanic temperate climate. Typical summer temps 15-22 C.
