- Nick Pourfard started Prisma Guitars based on his love for skateboarding and music. He is a 22 year old self-taught woodworker and industrial design student based out of San Francisco, CA. All guitars are built using the wood from broken and used skateboards.
Prisma Guitars are all 100% handmade and the colors are completely one-of-a-kind for every build.

Oh my god these are beautiful! I am 37. I grew up skateboarding, starting in the 80s, and while I don't skate so much these days, it is still an integral part of me. For me, skateboarding is a very spiritual experience and as such, using the wood from the combined experiences of so many people in that state of being to make an instrument of creation completely blows my mind into space. Couple that with my new passion of building guitars. What an inspiration! Thank you! Big hug from me over here.

I love this reuse is a very important part in changing the world today and helping us keep our natural resources
This is the most awesome thing about guitars - even though you believe that you have seen everything, there is still someone, who will think about something new and create extraordinary, immensely wonderfull and still great sounding instrument. I know envy is a bad thing, yet I'm envious of all the people who will at least be able to play one of these guitars for a while, let alone own their very own. Keep up man! This is such a beautiful work. And who knows, maybe one day, I'll save enough money to get myself one unique Prisma guitar :).

I don't know if you make basses too, but a collaboration with Jeff Ament’s Army sounds perfect. I have had good fortune to skate with him a few times and his passion for skating is second to none. I think his charitable organization is run through the Montana Skatepark Association.

Your work is bizarre beautiful , very spontaneous and pure . You Contribute much at the forefront , and the break in the boring world and simple guitars , based on " Gibson or Fender ". It's really a shame i cannot buy from you a guitar of yours, i live in Brasil and here the price is really high, and basically, all the bodies are in basswood. KEEP CREATING MAN.

They look unique, but what's to stop the layers from falling apart over time?
Wonder if theyd make me a guitar using my old boards got about 40 or 50 broken boards just chillin in my garage i knew i saved them for more than just old memories

I BUILD CUSTOM GUITARS TOO AND I HAVE TO SAY THESE ARE ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL. DID YOU HAVE THE VISION OF THE COLOR LAYERS OR WAS IT A HAPPY BONUS? THE TOPS LOOK LIKE THEY WERE PURPOSELY DYED OR STAINED THAT WAY. REALLY COOL. I ALSO LIKE THAT EVERY ONE YOU BUILD IS A DIFFERENT STYLE. GOOD STUFF MAN KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK.
