    Early days. Both the new boys shipped in 5 goals on their first game back. MK just looked sharper. When Wrexham had time on the ball they showed what they can do. But they do need to sort out the defending. We've seen that a few times in the last couple of seasons but the attitude has always been, you might score 5 but we'll score 6 and they've often got away with it. It's not going to happen in this league.

  • @ryan_b_9382

    Rob and Ryan now realise there are levels to this game. All well and good thinking back to back pormotions is realistic when they don't realise the jump between every league is huge.
    One signing ain't gonna be enough to get them anywhere near the playoffs.

    • @luiscaetano6184

      There have been several teams who have achieved back-to-back promotions over the years. Wrexham's coach has achieved promotion to Ligue 1 before and Paul Mullin has achieved promotion to Ligue 1 before. Not to mention that all three teams will be promoted, so with all things considered, back-to-back promotions is perfectly realistic.

      @ryan_b_9382 Год назад +3

      @luiscaetano6184 didn't say it isn't possible, just stating it will be very hard for them with only one player through the door.
      Also, speaking as a Sunderland fan who are by far the biggest club ever to play in league one, (and have a fanbase, facilities and resources Wexham could only dream of) getting out of league 1 is extremely tough, once they do get out of league 2.
      If they do manage to achieve that the championship is something else altogether, Rob and Ryan have small-time money compared to championship clubs, so they would need some major investment from elsewhere.

    MK Dons is one of the best teams in this league. They very well may win it and in all likelihood, will go right back up. The early own goal for Wrexham was deflating, they'll improve as the season goes on, and the object of this season is to stay up. I think they'll do it.
    The games that I'm really watching out for are the ones against Grimsby Town. Those should be very good, and congratulations to Grimsby on their well deserved promotion a couple of years back. It was epic, and I'm glad you were able to stay up.

    Shocking performance by the defense. Foster had a couple questionable goals, but it wasn't completely his fault. • @aidygooner

    • @coreyreynolds01
      @coreyreynolds01 Год назад +8

      @@aidygooner it may not be obvious to a casual viewer, but if a team has no scoring threat, it makes the opposing counter attack incredibly strong as they can take risks and not be punished for it. That's what the Dons were doing, and it paid dividends. Good teams will be all over that if we don't address the striker position. You need a threatening offense in order to make the other team respect your attack and stay back on defense. As it is now, they can just play aggressive for the turnover and are off to the races.

I obviously did not watch the game and have no idea how the pace was or how much of a pressure advantage one team had over the other, but what I would take home would be that Wrexham scored some impressive goals, I would not be sad about that performance. While we saw only a few replays in this video, they had some good technique and passing.
      Also, once you score an own goal so early, all your defenders are 10x more scared and it generally makes the game that much more difficult, yet, they still put on a good fight, 3 goals back is not bad.

    Dragons shouldn’t be too downhearted. MK Dons look a cut above usual League Two standard. They will tighten up at the back and showed the team has goals in it at this level.

    Wrexham need to take a lesson from Salford and Forest Green. They also have wealthy owners and came up from the NL. But both are still in L2 after several seasons, Forest Green did go up to L1 but finished bottom last season. The quality of teams Wrexham will be facing every week is higher, and thats the thing about promotion, somebody has to go down. This season is more about staying in L2.

    I think the players were nervous and afraid to make mistakes because of all the international attention and hype they are getting. 0 offsides?? Really? MK Dons just showed them that the other teams in the league are not going to sh*t their pants, just because they are playing against the most hyped team in the league. They have to shake it off now and show their talent, promotion is not going to be handed to them by hype

    Say what you want about MK but they've been around for 2 decades now with their up's and down's. Wrexham had EFL quality while being non-legue last year. Netflix behind them and salaries that have no competition. I'm calling it now, its their turn to be the most hated team in UK amongst fans. Other than that tho, fun team to watch, never give up spirit and attack until the last whistle.

    Wrexham's weakness has always been two fold, 1) its defense and 2) that Mullin is their only true forward/attacker. Wrexham's strength is it's midfield.
    For Wrexham to do well this year, they have to add two or three quality defenders and at least 1 additional quality forward/attacker.
