This seems really messed up. Timeworks has a great point…you basically can’t get subscribers without views, so restricting a video for this reason is ridiculous.

I’ve said this in another channel that covered this, but RUclips essentially saying that you have to subscribe to a channel to watch certain videos is a terrible way to grow on RUclips. For one thing, that means that some channels won’t get many views, nor will their subscribers be from the people that truly appreciate their content. Again, this isn’t the way to go RUclips

RUclips in 2019 was best year I didn't had channel back then but it was back then when RUclips used to didn't mess shit up and actually trying to get RUclips better now it's just keep on getting worse ever since they removed dislikes

It can prevent scam live streams, but there are good youtubers who are just starting to live stream and may get limited viewers. i dont really understand what yt is doing with their website.

Id assume this is to stop little kids streaming on their phone and have predators take advantage of that. Its really not a big deal imo especially because they themselves said this is going to eventually be lowered to 50 subscribers
EDIT: Tiktok requires atleast 1000 followers to go live so this isnt at all a foreign idea (and again on youtube its not even that you cant stream its just a limited amount of viewers). Also originally in 2017 you required 10,000 subscribers to go live and that numbers only going lower. And again eventually this will be lowered to 50

I don't think those limits ever made sense or existed at first place. I remember in 2019 I could stream In a verified alt without a problem from both pc and mobile and it had like 10 subs only
The way things are going with YT, I wouldn't be surprised if this also applies to Desktop streams at some point. ...and then videos. And then the minimum sub count is increased. I have no fucking idea who gave them the idea that this is a good path to go down, but you can bet your sweet ass they're gonna double down.
The same person who came up with the idea to remove dislikes probably came up with this ridiculous idea

I thought it made sense at first because its essentially using subscribers to measure whether they can trust this creator's content which is flawed but somewhat understandable. Supposedly viewers wouldn't subscribe to bad actors. Then I thought if the goal was to prevent viewing malicious content showing the dislike count would be ultimately better.
But now there are sub bots who literally just gets the tick verified (250k+ subs with literally no videos and views) . So this shit doesn't even work...
RUclips in 2024:
*we will be removing the ability to access RUclips Studio for people who have less than 1k subs*
RUclips in 2028:
*we will not be allowing channels under 1k subscribers to upload videos. To upload videos, get some more subs!*
RUclips in 2042: We are now removing comments from videos permanently And videos can only be made up to 5 minutes long

The Reason That This Is Only Happening On Mobile Probably because livestreams are made for professional on professional devices like expensive gaming PCs And Are Not Meant For A Phone because a phone is not a professional device the recorders most people are likely using may have a watermark and if they are using editing software their acess will be limited because they are using a phone and have usually have acess to only effects and text for eg: iMovie For iPhone only has text and effects the rest of the features are made for movies livestreaming a movie is really weird and also that smaller RUclipsrs on mobile have a higher chance of being under the age of 13 than desktop

It’s clear that this scheme wasn’t “intentionally” supposed to harm everyone, it’s clear it was meant to be so that they get more subscribers, because they are practically forced to do so. But now it’s limiting how much everyone is able to see this video
Im a small creator, just started with 43 subs. I made a short about a youtube bug (ironic) and that got capped at 4.485k views
I was so excited about it, had it not been this dumb, idiotic and ridiculous "censorship", the video would be doing so much better

Videos are being censored by their presence in search and the rate at which a channel is recommended. It's been like that since 2019. RUclips now censors "conspiracy" videos. But that is a blanket term for whatever "they" want swept under the rug. My channel is no exception. I get my traffic from Reddit and Facebook. Even with good metrics, it simply won't grow organically.
I manage multiple channels. Only [this] one can't grow even with having the best metrics out of all of them. It is what it is. Ironically, ghosts, urban legends, etc. are not censored. I guess big tech loves Casper but hates UFOs.
