the show is basically about the phoenix all things that are dark and evil about it. the prominent theme in the show is life cycle of this bird. It live and lives, but when it dies it burst into chaotic flames and from it's ashes arises a calm, peaceful, innoscent baby bird. btw i probably spelled inniscent wrong.
No matter what place any band ends up getting, we're always proud of other schools and their success. Being in the finals no matter is an amazing opportunity. I'm happy Marcus got first this year. They deserved it.
You guys are a force to be reckoned with. i'm a Coppell trumpet and we are playing Wagner this year. all of the top bands in the nation are North Texas bands which is pretty cool
I was in this band from 05-07 and I can assure you that I had no money. So many people donate to help kids like me who, though talented and had drive, couldn't afford the fees. A lot of what you see (flags, costumes, props, etc) were made by community members and parents who support the awesome program and want to see it stay. So don't talk smack when you don't know the whole story.
@Strawberrymelonfuze I think the description adds to understanding the show and learning about LD Bell's achivements, imho. Oh, and it might help if you want to talk the uploader by PMing instead of commenting, not everyone gets an email when someone comments on their video.
@r8escjohn Actually, it costs $2000 for just the band to go, but everyone has to pay fees. The fees include things like the plain ride, hotel, food, etc. The reason they didn't go was because A) they're only supposed to go every other year anyway, B) a lot of people hadn't paid their fees from last year, and C) they have slight financial problems this year.
@clarinetbeast01 - Yes, some people will copy and post the video, but if they are caught they will probably have their account closed. I'm sure Mr. Video spends lots of money on cameras and operators to get the best shots of each show, and they have to sell those videos (online or on DVD) in order to make the effort profitable and worthwhile.
Like mine. I'm from Jenison, MI, and we only march about 150 on average, and we really don't have all that much money. We are pretty much dead broke, which is why it's so expensive, and don't have enough instruments, let alone ones that are looking very happy.
As a former band member, I can assure you that EACH KID (or their parents) paid their own band fees. When I was there (05-07) we paid $1000 a year, and my senior year I paid for it with my own job.
Tuba player from Mansfield here, I really loved your show, this was my first year in marching band and you guys and James Bowie really impressed me... Is the opening set the circles of hell? If so, cool, that was the opening set to our show, too. :)
bowie rocked their asses at the regional in arlington! both are really really phenominal bands but bowie has a full hornline :P no trombones lol and they were much, much louder
I understand where you're coming from but the students at Bell pay just as much. Our band fee was $825 this past year and we had to pay that on our own.
@ladonnavideo Yep..At about $80,000-$90,000 per BOA Grand Nats for bands your size to make trip understand...Hopefully this darn economy will pick up and HS bands like yours can get back to every year coming to GN. .But still, you guys were greatly missed and this would have been AWESOME to see this show at BOA Grand Nats.
@TerrellWalker ... That was the comment of an immature winner. The scores show that Marcus did something better than the kids from LD Bell so they deserved to win. However Marcus came in fourth, and Bell in third. If you ask me, Bell came out on top anyway.
When you have 250 - 300 students and all of their parents fundraising for you, plus sponsors, you have money. My marching band, Francis Howell North Knightpride, which used to be huge in BoA (including going to grand nationals multiple times before our old director left and financial difficulties set in) couldn't even afford to enter this year due to financing, even though we got first at fully half of our competitions this year. Each one of us has to pay $800 per season. WE have heart.
There are lots of good bands out there, but I can assure you that LD Bell is not in a wealthy neighborhood. 50% of the school district is considered economically disadvantaged.
@TheMarchingBandNerd dude Bowie's show sucked this year I live in Austin and I liked watching the old Bowie with awesome marching style and excellently played music I watched their show this year and was sloppy across the board. No wonder they sucked at BOA and UIL state
why do you go on all their videos and just comment such rude things? whats wrong with you? i dont understand what could drive you to this point. sorry if the band hurt you in some way , i guess.

probably the best high school marching band show that i've ever seen.
I can't wait to be in the LD Bell Band next year!
No matter what place any band ends up getting, we're always proud of other schools and their success. Being in the finals no matter is an amazing opportunity. I'm happy Marcus got first this year. They deserved it.

I can't wait to see yalls show this year(: See you at BOA and State!
great quality of sound
i love that i got to march this during my sophmore year! go clarinets xD
@AnimeonTuba I think it's all open to interpretation, but that could work! Bowie looked great, too! Loved that frosty feeling :)
@Strawberrymelonfuze I think the description adds to understanding the show and learning about LD Bell's achivements, imho. Oh, and it might help if you want to talk the uploader by PMing instead of commenting, not everyone gets an email when someone comments on their video.
AMAZING show!!! Love from The Woodlands
I would love to see those guard costumes close up c:
Well money or no money. I love these guys. this is coming from a member of a %100 student/donation funded yet regional championship marching band.
I went to nationals and my favorite band wasn't there. This show would have rocked! Why didn't you go?
@r8escjohn
Actually, it costs $2000 for just the band to go, but everyone has to pay fees. The fees include things like the plain ride, hotel, food, etc.

AWESOME SHOW. Your band is so much bigger than mine. XD
AWESOME!! love it!!
Amazing Bands like this have heart!
Amazing bands like this have MONEYYYYY.
I wish our brass sounded like that :/ , thats amazing!
I'd do anything to be in a band like this. Too bad I'm stuck in Conroe.
I March Saxophone in the New Braunfels band. Your showed destroyed ours.
You know it's an L.D. Bell show when most of the comments are asking what it's about.
@skatethe512 oh yay!! another blue raider. are you in band?
i remember how last year, a bell band member commented how good it was that Marcus got 4th at super regionals. wonder what he thinks this year?
@clarinetbeast01 - Yes, some people will copy and post the video, but if they are caught they will probably have their account closed. Is there like a video of them at BOA someone can post?
@spironicolas For me, that would be their 2008 (I think) show called The Quest. But this is definitely very cool.
I LOVE scary shows. The beginning drew me in :D.
my best friend is in the color guard! (:
@LuxAurumque02000 -You would have to buy a pay-per-view at Music For All, because Mr. Video has the rights to that.
I saw an up close shot of the gaurd's outfits...freakin weird. Lol, but amazing :)
Like mine. I'm from Jenison, MI, and we only march about 150 on average, and we really don't have all that much money. We are pretty much dead broke, which is why it's so expensive, and don't have enough instruments, let alone ones that are looking very happy.

We tried to use weapons for the show in 2010, but it wasn't visual enough.
250 to 300? Damn!! And i thought my 190 - 200 member band was huge!!
Lots of bands seem to be using Shoshtakovich 10 recently.....
Tuba player from Mansfield here, I really loved your show, this was my first year in marching band and you guys and James Bowie really impressed me... Is the opening set the circles of hell? If so, cool, that was the opening set to our show, too. :)
@clarinetbeast01 - I believe you have to pay a fee to see that on BOA. Mr. Video does all their work.
creepy ending... what an awesome show!
Guard is so beast they could kill a bear with a portion of that routine.
bowie rocked their asses at the regional in arlington! both are really really phenominal bands but bowie has a full hornline :P no trombones lol and they were much, much louder
I Lovee My Trombone Family ^^ We Stay LOUD ! Haha
Omg who arranged/composed the music? It's amazing.
I understand where you're coming from but the students at Bell pay just as much. Our band fee was $825 this past year and we had to pay that on our own.
reminds me of mad world
@ladonnavideo Yep..At about $80,000-$90,000 per BOA Grand Nats for bands your size to make trip understand...Hopefully this darn economy will pick up and HS bands like yours can get back to every year coming to GN. .But still, you guys were greatly missed and this would have been AWESOME to see this show at BOA Grand Nats.
@lehoalananh I wish I had a definitive explanation, but probably hardest show ever is correct!
could you explain the show more? is it like a cricles of hell thing or something? or were yall just going for the hardest frikkin show ever?
Watch winston Churchill Shostakovich 1997, that will blow you away!!! Talk about sound an power!!
Got that right. Love Coppell btw ;)
The should do Chelsea Grins new Evolve ep and That would make this band even creepier
Hahaha nooooo I wish! I was one of those kids and I am broke!
How many people do you guys march?
@pwnyofwar This is Shostakovich
@nw7378 sounds possible! I can't say for sure. But I can say this is how you spell 'innocent'.
@mendozazer - well, I don't know the rules about that, but BOA isn't UIL, so I doubt the state pays to compete with BOA.
kickass show! the guard is just superb, i love the drill! drumline.. eh not so good. lol
Shostakovich Symphony no. 10! :D
We saw their band...and came to the conclusion it was about eyelashes.
I went from watching exodus to this:(
@TerrellWalker ... That was the comment of an immature winner. The scores show that Marcus did something better than the kids from LD Bell so they deserved to win. However Marcus came in fourth, and Bell in third. If you ask me, Bell came out on top anyway.
Would've definitely won at nationals... just saying. This year was a very competitive year but you guys would've won if you were there.
Why doesnt the color guard ever use wepeons?
Tchaicovsky's music doesn't need to be played anymore. Not after this...
ok ya they do but its not just money thats not fair to say
When you have 250 - 300 students and all of their parents fundraising for you, plus sponsors, you have money.

Each one of us has to pay $800 per season. WE have heart.
@RobbyRageisFuntastic It's all about the money!
It's Shostakovich...
@chaosofdoom2 Maybe it's marching band... maybe it's Maybelline.
I pay aroud $670 every year for guard!
Bowie
There are lots of good bands out there, but I can assure you that LD Bell is not in a wealthy neighborhood. 50% of the school district is considered economically disadvantaged.
I like, but what an odd arrangement of Shostakovich
thats alot of colorguard
@mrmcthode Donald Hill
@TheMarchingBandNerd dude Bowie's show sucked this year I live in Austin and I liked watching the old Bowie with awesome marching style and excellently played music I watched their show this year and was sloppy across the board. No wonder they sucked at BOA and UIL state
I think they average 250 - 300.
That seemed rather sloppy to me, and the guard looks like they just ran around confused the whole time, not a first place band to me
drill is kinda messy. too scattered
2 people don't know music
For some reason i thought this was a middle school marching band. The music isnt good enough to be from high sckewl kiddos
why do you go on all their videos and just comment such rude things? whats wrong with you? i dont understand what could drive you to this point. sorry if the band hurt you in some way , i guess.
Is this really how you want to represent the Marcus High School Marching Band?
Hmm, funny. I was unaware that middle school marching bands exist
