    The day that KD announced that he was signing with the Warriors was the same day I flew out of the Bay, to start a teaching job in southern Africa. Didn't move back home until the end of 2019, so I was away for literally the entire Durant era of the Dubs lol.
    But in checking game scores and highlights, sharing about basketball with the learners I worked with, it didn't feel like I was really deprived of it (would've been nice to see them live, though haha). Still got to follow a bit as my hometown team dominated the sport.
    So yeah. Kevin Durant helped make those Warriors teams some of the best to ever play in the Association. He is a Bay Area legend for sure.

      Joel Johnson he’s not wishy washy. Like
      2K and Phil Jackson’s Triangle offense, Certain things work for while then they don’t. Patches are made; adjustments are made. Honestly, KD leaving Westbrook wasn’t the worst idea; he wanted to go on his own freewill so he went. it just that it was ring chasing to go to the warriors. Any of the other 28 teams in the NBA would have sufficed: just no warriors or Cavs. It’s past now. Did he kinda fuck up the NBA? Yes. His decision to join effectively made it so Russ, Dame, Harden, etc. will likely never win a ring. The competition is too stiff now. Lakers and Clippers and possibly the Nets are favorites for at least the next 3-5 years and by the time they cool off, the Celtics, Mavs, Jazz, Heat, etc. will have figured everything out and be ready to win. And fringe teams will prolly step it up(T-wolves, Pacers, Suns, etc.)

      Joel Johnson you don’t dictate his legacy though 😂, n none of those where good scenarios. Being a gladiator was not something most people did willing and serving in your country army back then wasn’t either. No one said anything about Lebron building his or the lakers have there super team. it’s literally took a team with three hof to beat the lakers during that time.

    KD is still one of the best players of all time but his rings will never get the same respect as everyone elses because he basically turned the setting on All-Rookie when he joined that established championship team. To this day, we don't even know if he's clutch when it counts because that team was hardly ever challenged. Still an all-time great though.

There are players that stick with one team and when his career is over, he has zero ring to be remembered for and for him to remember. Not really liking how he left OKC but in European soccer, this happens a lot and players don’t care. In the end, they want to achieve glory. When KD retire, he’s gonna be legend. Like him or not.

  • @juju-vl7oj
    @juju-vl7oj 4 года назад

    3 times Durant had a chance to prove he was the best in the world and close them out. First 2 games he shot under 40percent and under 30from 3, game 7 he played 45minutes and attempted 19shots. So when he joins the competition, the best offense in the league and the defense that shut him down and he puts up numbers not being doubled by one of the worst team defenses in Cleveland to ever make the finals, with some of the worst 1 on 1 perimeter defenders in the league, we're supposed to bow down and say wow thats amazing. He was always a great player no taking away from that , but his rings are the cheapest of any superstar ever, and millions agree. I still rank him top 15 all time, and I hope he comes back healthy to prove if hes the best the right way with an actual challenge in Brooklyn, but til then my opinion isnt changing.
