He constantly mistakes the damage upgrades as boosting by a percentage when they are, in fact, flat base damage increases. Gray is 5 damage, blue is 10, purple is 15, and gold is 20, those are flat values that do not increase or decrease regardless of how much damage you are dealing. The result may seem larger or smaller depending on what other upgrades you have taken, but they are not actually scaling and are only being effected by the other bonuses.

Also the upgrades where you heal when you dash, gain damage when you dash, and use/regain all dashes at once gets stupid damage. I had this combined witht he AOE build and a ton of dashes to hit about 20k damage. It was kinda nutty.
The health on dash ain't worth it too early, it increases the dash cooldown way too much. And when there's a horde a bounce is as good as a pierce, it's just a pierce in the opposite direction.

Any items that add effects to your dashes, reduce cooldowns (which there are you just need to beat some specific achievements), or effects that trigger when damage is taken (as every dash will count toward that) will make it much better. Also PS. The ability "Pong" is the most overpowered ability for any build besides the dash one I just mentioned. Normally excessive peirce or bounce results in your bullets leaving the screen, especially with bosses. The "Pong" ability makes it so bullets will bounce off the edges of the screen max 2 times and hit enemies again. If you stand still while attacking a boss you can get the bullets to bounce back perfectly making it so a single bullet strikes the boss 3 times reliably and you don't have to get close. When hoards of enemies come the bullets basically never stop killing enemies and the whole screen turns into bullet chaos.
