Since your plants are barely growing, they don't need any fertilizer in the winter. Plant food is needed nutrients year round. Fertilizer is different nutrients but, not needed in the winter. If you have any questions about any plant please don't hesitate to ask. I will do my best to answer. :)
I bought one a few months back its been on my porch in the shade all summer. I just give it a few ice cubes once a week and if I notice its looking a little droopy. Its been doing wonderful. Such easy care.
They will grow taller if you transplant in a bigger pot. I'm sure your knowledgeable on a sizing up a pot. Another trick add worm castings to the soil. I love Miracle Grow and Epsoma is a good organic fertilizer. That's a very nice money plant.
Ya know I’ve read not to move them as well. However, I have been. Front porch to the back porch...all to keep it getting full sun. Checked it daily to make sure I wasn’t scorching. This thing has been flourishing and I feel like a breeze helps the roots take hold better. Remember, this is a tree and is used to wind and full sun from the tropics.
Lucky you! I love this tree. It is doing wonderful. Ty for watching. Would love to have you as part of my youtube family. Simply hit the subscribe button and tap the bell! :)
just purchased a Money Tree plant in a 10 inch pot with drainage. I poured one litre of Water and a little came out of the drainage holes. But my moisture meter indicated the earth as dry. Does this mean i didnt pour enough water?
@@jeffreykaufmann2867 After I had covid I was quite sick for a long time. I lost several plants and ended up donating the rest. I since only have a few. I believe this plant grew around 3 feet tall. :)
Lol my girlfriend is obsessed with plants and I was that boyfriend at first too... Then she bought me a money tree... And now I'm on my 8th plant these past 2 months and I'm obsessed 🤣
I have been giving mine approximately 1 cup of water weekly and in the winter approximately 1/2 cup weekly. Also, I use Supergro liquid plant food according to directions. :)
Your plant is beautiful!! I was hoping you could help me with my plant. My plant is about 5 ft tall now and I didnt braid the trunks and it wont stand up without being staked. Can I cut it way back down to like 2 ft without killing it? I can send you a pic of it if that helps. Please help, as I love this plant after caring for it for the past 5 years. Thank you
Your money tree will grow best receiving bright indirect light to partial sunlight and in temperatures between 60°F and 85°F. Lower light is tolerated, but if too low the growth tends to become stretched and lanky. Temperatures down to 50°F and as high as 100°F are tolerated.
Question: mine has been so stubborn. It has started to get like a white mole on the soil once in a while, it comes and goes. Idk why? Could be the soil I put it in? It is quick drainage but it stays damp/moist.
Mix a little peat moss and sand or perlite to indoor potting mix for a fast-draining soil. www.amazon.com/Planting-Repotting-Gallon-Blended-Properly/dp/B0883DJV32 Also, I use miracle gro liquid plant food. :)
When the plant's leaves become droopy and yellow this is a sign of too much water. When the leaves are wrinkly and curled up, this means you are not watering it enough. This could be the problem. :)
Why is it bad to fertalize in winter? Can u elaborate on that? Is it harmful? Or just pointless?🤔you said "give plant food every 2 weeks" is fertilizer the same thing?? Or....?🤔im really sucking at this plant lol...working on it..
The meter should tell you quickly how much moisture is present in your Money Tree's soil. ... Money Trees should be watered when the soil reading starts leaning towards the “dry” side. :)
Don't over water. I noticed the leaves droop a little when they need water. They love indirect sunlight. Also, check for any drafts. Good luck...don't give up!
I am loving this plant! Be sure to get one.

I've cubes? Why ice cubes instead of water? Isn't that too cold for the plant?

It might have been just really dry. Keep an eye on it. You can always add if it feels too dry. It should be fine.
@DonnaJoshi how much taller is your money plant since posting the Video?

Good information thanks for sharing ♥️
I just bought the tree. How much water do you recommend
I have been giving mine approximately 1 cup of water weekly and in the winter approximately 1/2 cup weekly. Also, I use Supergro liquid plant food according to directions. :)
Should you keep it tied or untie?
They are usually braided but it's not necessarily to tie or braid. :)
When the shorts grow tall should you prune them and how do you continue it twisting as it grows?
Rotation helps the bamboo to grow in the direction you need. This makes it easier to braid. Also, yes trim the top to keep it manageable.
My cats love to eat the leaves. Gotta keep them away from it. I’m having issues finding the proper lighting for it.
A South window is good. :)
@@DonnaJoshi I’ll see that’s possible. Thank you 😁
My trees leaves are turning yellow and falling off!! I'm panicking I'm losing it! HELLLLLLLP LOL
Don't worry 😉 my guess is now that it is getting colder your plant or plants need less water. Cut your watering to half. Lol

This is the size pot I have but I want to buy a more attractive pot to put that one inside please tell me what are the measurements
Hi Donna, is this your money tree regular spot? And do you think a spot 7 feet away from a south east window would be enough for money tree?
I think it will be fine. :)
Wow! mine isn't as big and my pot is larger than your's! maybe this is why my plant isn't thriving..
Pot size could affect your plant 🪴

Cool tree!
Question: mine has been so stubborn. It has started to get like a white mole on the soil once in a while, it comes and goes. Idk why? Could be the soil I put it in? It is quick drainage but it stays damp/moist.
This usually is from too much water. Cut back just a bit. This should help. :)
@@DonnaJoshi ok thank you
Part of my money tree stumps are death, can I cut them off, without replanting it, because I just repotted it 3 months ago
I have read it's best to remove them. :)
How much fertilizer every two weeks water? How do u bring it 2 life?
Use liquid fertilizer. I use only 1/2 recommended to a gallon of water. Give 1 cup every other water time during summer.
I love mine but its starting to droop and turn brown? Why? I want to save it! Thank you. Its not in sun.
Water and speak into it💕💕💕
I have one but not growing taller had it 4 like 8 months Money doesn’t grow on trees.
Thanks for sharing
My money plant looks like yours but it’s dead at the moment 😞😭 Too much care I don’t know 🤷🏻♀️

It will. Just be careful the leaves are not exposed to direct sunlight. They could be scorched. :)

How come they live in a SWAMP in the wild yet they tell you not to overwater them ?
Because they are confined in a pot would be my guess :)

my plant leaves looks like it’s wilting how can i save it :(
When the plant's leaves become droopy and yellow this is a sign of too much water. When the leaves are wrinkly and curled up, this means you are not watering it enough. This could be the problem. :)
My money trees leaves re becoming yellow and shredding. Is it normal?
I'm thinking you may be over watering. I give mine 1 cup a month. Hope this helps. :)

What type of fertilizer

Why is it bad to fertalize in winter? Can u elaborate on that? Is it harmful? Or just pointless?🤔you said "give plant food every 2 weeks" is fertilizer the same thing?? Or....?🤔im really sucking at this plant lol...working on it..
Plants go dormant. They rest. Fertilizer isn't needed. You don't want to force growth during rest time. :)
do you know places where i can get this money tree?
I got mine at Lowe's! :)
i got mine at ikea:)
@@DonnaJoshi how much water do you recommend and which plant food should I buy
Your tree did have seven leaves! One of the stems did!

such a beautiful plant!! 🌱
My tree has brown tips. What's wrong
The most likely cause is overwatering. Try cutting back a little. :)
But i live in the Caribbean/ West Indies 🇧🇧🇧🇧
What should the moisture meter read before watering?
The meter should tell you quickly how much moisture is present in your Money Tree's soil. ... Money Trees should be watered when the soil reading starts leaning towards the “dry” side. :)
The internet says the money plant is safe for dogs
Mine not doing so well. I may be destined for poverty.
