The fact that Sheogorath threw a fucking . . . .. damn METEOR at Vivec City for shits and giggles never fails to make me laugh. I mean. Have you seen how that city is laid out? I'd try to obliterate it too.
Technically, it'd be a meteorite. Difference being, a meteorite is a meteor that successfully enters the atmosphere without shattering completely and manages to strike the ground. Was Vivic City destroyed by the impact or the volcanic eruption of Red Mountain? If it was the former, then there was likely a decent amount of metal (Fe in most cases) inside its core, rather than simple rock and minerals.
@@Amo-v27 Would it not be better to say that a meteorite is a meteoride that reached the ground and a meteor is a meteoride that perished in the atmosphere?
Its Michael Kirkbride's writing your referring to. He wrote some of the most interesting lore in the series. He clearly took a lot of inspiration from hp lovecraft. He also has some good elder scrolls universe books but some of his writings can't really be considered cannon. He came up with the idea of the elder scroll universe all being a dream of a higher being called the godhead. It's pretty much the reason you have a chance to zero-sum when achieving chim. To achieve Chim you have to partially wake up from reality basically becoming a god but if you fully wake up from reality you zero-sum and will blink out of existence cause you fully woke up from a dream that isn't yours. Its similar to Azathoth from hp lovecraft.
With Morrowind, Todd Howard himself said their plan was to go for a, “stranger in a strange land” feel to the game. In my opinion, I think they need to bring that back in The Elder Scrolls VI. Oblivion and Skyrim were both great but felt too relatable to common fantasy, for example, the towns/cities all had more of a European feel to them like Vikings in Skyrim or the Roman Empire in regards to the Imperial Legion in Oblivion, very cliche fantasy settings. Morrowind stood out much more to me because of the landscape, the unique plants and animals and most importantly, the architecture and culture of the Dark Elves has always been very original to me.

As someone who has logged thousands of hours into skyrim and ES games alike, I recently found this channel via the exploring H.P. Lovecraft series. The series was fantastic, and gave me a great understanding of the lore before I threw myself into the world. I just now found out you have a series on ES and I have been learning of ES facts I never even knew existed by merely playing the games. Excellent work man, this channel is a gem.
did you know that in order to write the 36 lessons of vivec, michael kirkbride ate a bunch of magic mushrooms and got fucked up on LSD, then locked himself in his apartment for a week?
Vivec didn’t get rid of it intentionally. He wanted it to be an eternal reminder of his power to the dunmer. A symbol of his love, but also a warning - that should they ever stop loving him, the meteor would fall. That was his thought process
Ragyo Kiryuin the Glorious God-Tier Waifu yeah, I know that. It's just not what I'd do. It's not a very loving act. Love me forever or this meteor will kill all of you and ruin Vvardenfell. Then there's how the Tribunal Temple makes a prison out of it. It pissed me off when I heard what happened to Morrowind because it made everything I did feel like it was all for nothing.

You left out a lot of important information, or had some information incomplete: -Vivec was born from a mix of a Chimer woman and a Dreugh -The three advisors swore to Azura, which makes their breaking the oath that much more serious -Dagoth Ur was not called that at the time, his name was Voryn Dagoth of House Dagoth -Vivec banished Azura by utilizing CHIM, a state of existence only achieved by him and the enantiomorphic entity Talos - You barely talked about anything from the Sermons. The only things you mentioned from it was his youth and his fights with the Daedric Princes -I'm pretty sure the Ghostfence had some importance as well

Basically an "I win" button. *In the actual game:* Throws one fireball with an oversized hit box, then attempts to punch you until you inevitably kill him with your daedric weapons. Growls like a wolf for some reason. Can be soul trapped for some reason too. Probably the same reason unarmored skill only works if you have one piece of armor.
"It just works." -Todd Howard (also, the spear wasn't made out of their dick... more so molag bal's dick, iirc. making a spear out of their dick would be impressive, however)
What are the sources to Vivec's youth in this video? I was aware of the hermaphrodite implication to his character, but I was under the impression that this was a product of his ascension to divinity, at his choosing...reflecting the dichotomy of Chimer Vs Dunmer aspects, in both his people and himself. After all, is it an accident that he is literally split down the middle by both Chimer and Dunmer characteristics? This gender and racial dichotomy are reflected in both his symbolic rape of Azura with Muatra (symbolic of his male aspect) and his sexual surrender (of his HEAD) to Molag Bal (symbolic of his female aspect). Obviously, none of these themes are simplistic in the least, but I don't know if his origin story is as simple as saying, "He was born a hermaphrodite..." I think, at the very least, he was either manifested, or manifested HIMSELF through the act of CHIM, to impact TWO (dual) of the most powerful (and dualistic) daedra in existence, in order to enact change. After all, isn't the very nature of CHIM to alter the very temporal EXISTENCE of reality, both presently and retroactively? So I propose that Vivec, following both his apotheosis to divinity and the split of his race from Chimer to Dunmer (enacted by Azura, herself) was to become the very symbol of what Azura had done to his race. He essentially preformed CHIM in order to make an example of Azura's transgression on his race, by making himself the symbol of that transgression, while meanwhile punishing her for it... And his status as a hermaphrodite was also a product of his CHIM (made both presently and retroactively), in order to rape Azura as a male (*representation of the CHIMer punished by her*) and his offering of his people's influence/confluence to Molag Bal, with his now female aspect (*representation of Dunmer reaping reward from Molag Bal*) in gaining MUATRA and his power that he conveyed on the now Dunmer people.
No opinion on the fact that CHIM changes reality in the past, present and future? Thus making Vivec retroactively a hermaphrodite in a willing representation of the dichotomy of his race... There's a lot of lore I'm addressing in my comment. Any thoughts? I'm not so much saying you're wrong, as engaging you, an uploader of TES lore. Wondering if you have specific interpretations of your own? As usual, with TES lore, there are always many and more complex interpretations of the stories presented. Many under the surface or more than meets the eye. Especially when it comes to Morrowind lore, given the master-level fantasy elements at play and on display. I was first introduced to your channel with your Lovecraft lore videos, which I'm a big fan of. I'm just curious if you find any validity in Vivec's WILLING choice of his physical characteristics and actions in being a living representation of the Chimer/Dunmer folk, and giving consideration to his acquisition of Muatra from Molag Bal (from offering his "Head") and his use of CHIM and Muatra in raping/smiting Azura? I don't think there's any doubt he willingly chooses to appear both Chimer on one side of his body and Dunmer on the other... Thus, it might be safe to assume, he made his hermaphrodite qualities in conjunction/concurrence with these other dualistic features. All being achieved through his apotheosis and use of CHIM. (Also, I don't think there's just a coincidence in the name CHIM and the people's name Chimer.)
I mean, Vivec is certainly filled with representations of duality, of both the Chimer/Dunmer people and mortal/god. I know that he retroactively changed history so that he had always been a god, but to be honest, that's quite a bit to take in. That being said, that interview is apparently from a universe prior to Vivec becoming a god. If I had to say, I'd say he was born a hermaphrodite as a mortal, which helped shape his identity.
I've debated about whether or not to do one on CHIM, but now I'm leaning against it. Frankly I'm not really sure I understand it myself, and I think it goes beyond the casual overviews that this series focuses on.
"CHIM. Those who know it can reshape the land. Witness the home of the Red King Once Jungled." - Commentaries on the Mysterium Xarxes, Book Three "Let me show you the power of Talos Stormcrown, born of the North, where my breath is long winter.' 'I breathe now, in royalty, and reshape this land which is mine. I do this for you, Red Legions, for I love you" - Heimskr Those two in-game quotes from Oblivion and Skyrim describe CHIM far better than any video could, tbh

I knew I liked ESO when during the Vardenfell questline, Vivec, _who was dying from having his power siphoned away_ managed to *HALT A FALLING BAAR DAU* right in front of your eyes.
This is the kind of thing we're never going to get in TES again. Instead, we'll keep getting AAA generic fantasy titles with simplistic writing & gameplay. The quests keep getting more & more basic & repetitive. The game mechanics are cyclical loops. The games are visually fantastic, but that only covers up the lack of substance.
Nietzsche's Moustache This makes me so sad to read, but it’s true. I made my own sort-of fan game/map so I can continue to explore Tamriel and embrace its unique lore.
it’s a shame, since Kirkbride’s contribution is so engaging; would love to see C0da or morrowind’s flavor of ‘new weird’ ideas and aesthetics explored further
8:00 That trial isn't actually canon and was never confirmed by Bethesda (the ones who own the intellectual property that is The Elder Scrolls) of it's legitimacy. To be quite frank: I don't think it should be canon for more than one reason.
Huh? I think you got your scrolls mixed. Vivec banished Azura with the last of his power, and disappeared with her, eluding that he may have banished himself too. Plus, Molag Bol never had any deals like that in the lore. Clavicus Vile on the other hand...
ReZaHydra Nope. OP is talking of the Sermons. Vivec married Molag Bal (possibly raped? Some say so, others consider it consensual....?), had children, caught Molag's dick off, turned his dick into a spear called Muatra, killed his children with the weaponized dick- I mean spear-, and... banished... Azura......? Muatra was Vivec's main weapon for a while, I guess, too? Some interpret the Sermons not literally, and vice versa, but either way, nope, he didn't get it mixed up.
...Forgot about that. I was mainly thinking of the soul siphon made by Clavicus. But the main point is the same in both sides. Vivec banished Azura, and somehow, somewhere in all of that, disappeared. Thanks for the clear-up though.
I think vivec achieved chim, so there is the mortal vivec's life and the god vivec's life. Like the mortal talos and the god talos had different lives (chim allows history to be altered by the new deity) for example the mortal talos will have known a cyrodil covered with jungles, on achieving chim he retroactively removed the jungles from the timeline, so he made it so they had never been there. I think achieving chim, combined with the poetic and weird person that he is, resulted in his god-life being poetic and weird as well.
Not sure you can say that TES is moving away from them. The last big release of ESO was for an add on of Vvardenfell with a main quest that centered on helping Vivec, and the most recent DLC is in the Clockwork City.
I think he might've meant in the main series of Elder Scrolls, since he did show a picture of ESO Vivec at least once so he's aware-- and he'd be right in that, I think. Other than the Dragonborn DLC, they weren't touched upon too much in either Oblivion or Skyrim, which makes sense due to what happened in Morrowind but I just wish there was more on the circumstances of Vivec's disappearance.
Not only did Vivec and the Tribunal Achieve Chim, but Vivec already knew that the Heart of Lorkhan wouldn't last. So, he found out how to achieve Chim without the use of The Heart Of Lorkhan, staying a God.

skyrim has the soul cairn, a dragon half god who can eat the souls in "heaven" and a mystic relm with books and tentacles. I'd say the games metaphysical nature is still going strong
I wish the series would return to the strangeness of Morrowind & the earlier entries. I killed Vivec in Morrowind in one playthrough, meaning that I'd killed 2 of the tribunal & Sotha Sil was dead at Almalexia's hand. While Morrowind was my 1st TES game when I was 13 years old, my favorite was Daggerfall. Arena was fun too, but very unrefined as it was the 1st game. In Morrowind, I became highly immersed, reading every book, learning all the lore and such. It was sad to me when Oblivion and Skyrim didn't have nearly as many readable books or as much mystical stuff present. I greatly enjoyed creating large mods based on lore to expand on the game, letting players play through events mentioned in books. Those were fun times.
I would like for Elder Scrolls To make a turn toward its old metaphysical strangeness. Also, I have your say "Vivec Is really an awesome dude Playing games even with the daedric princes".

And why would they want to represent Vehk? Vehk the mortal died long ago.
Mannimarco's story is just disappointing in my opinion. He is an amazing character. He is one of the longest lived people in all of tamriel came up with necromancy and black soul gems and became the first lich ever. When the dragon break happen it's possible he even became a god in some other reality. He had a massive impact on the world and it all ended in a lame battle in oblivion that made him look like a joke. You don't even see him in lich form. It just makes me hope that that wasint really Mannimarco in oblivion because they didn't do him justice.
@Joseph Ellis Don't have to tell me. Iv played all the good mods relating to necromancy or mannimarco. He's one of my favorite characters along with Ysmir wulfharth, Vivec and Pelinal whitestrake. Your talking to a Elderscrolls super nerd. I could write multiple paragraphs about these characters and my thoughts about them. I didn't even mention that Mannimarco killed Vanus Galerion who was one of the most powerful mages to ever live and was the founder of the mages guild. The best characters are Wulfharth, Zurin Arctus and Hjalti early-beard/Tiber septim but the lore around them is a mess as it involves the warp in the west and a ton of conflicting reports. According to the lore of the warp in the west all possible outcomes simultaneously became reality meaning at least in some reality mannimarco became a god turning himself into a planet called the Necromancer's Moon. Which is odd cause that seems to be the same planet you see in oblivion
"Vivec is my brother. He knows my struggles and I know his. That knowledge makes our relationship... complicated. To truly know someone is as much a curse as it is a blessing...he also suffers a kind of enslavement. Not unlike my own, in fact. Beauty holds the keys to his shackles. Beauty, and a love of great works. Great heights. His appetites are insatiable, thus his despair...a poet's despair. Vivec craves radical freedom - the death of all limits and restrictions. He wishes to be all things at all times. Every race, every gender, every hero, both divine and finite... but in the end, he can only be Vivec." -Sotha Sil
Sonny Megeary That's not what it seems to be like in... What My Beloved Told Me, I think it's called. It's of Nerevar meeting Vivec when he was a prostitute, and Vivec makes multiple allusions to being intersex. Depending on how he felt about his past, I'd say that's one of his possible lies written in his sermons (abt being born intersex or after absorbing the heart). (Edit: What My Beloved Taught Me, it's called. Vivec calls himself a "whelp-wench in (his) unders", and when Nerevar asks him the difference between men and women, he responds, "there is no difference with me.")
The TES series may be drifting away from the stranger parts of the lore, but ESO isn't. The last two main dlc's were morrowind and its main story involved you helping Vivec. And The Clockworks City
Yep. And even though it's Zenimax, I have hope that perhaps in the next game, however far off it is, we'll go back to the stranger parts of the lore. I'm tired of the generic fantasy worlds, tbh. ESO has done pretty well and I hope Bethesda takes from them and their present reception.

key word being "can kill" doesn't make it a lore kill all that's talked about Vivec that happens after Morrowind is that Vivec disappeared, so I wouldn't count that considering its something that you/the Nerevarine "can" and not something that you "will" do. Even if we were to include it there's also no telling how the Lorewise engagement would have been like so something like "without to much hassle" would be a gameplay perspective considering characters have to follow the Games limitations and not their lore limitations. Also there's no telling just how drained Vivec at this point and could be a little too severely weakened, if the Neveraine decides to kill him. Overall theirs too much to go on faith of the Neveraines feat of killing Vivec and not enough facts or information to give that feat impressive.
Then what of the fight with Almalexia? Sure she's not a full god after separation from the heart of lorkhan but canonically the Nerevarine does beat her.
Considering the event where the Neveraine takes on Almalexia the Heart of Lorkhan was destroyed and Almalexia had lost all her godly powers or at the very least she was at the bottom of the barrel of her powers. A part or more like a small margin of the Tribunals power also came from the prayers of the Dunmer people. Almalexia who had gone insane killed Sotha Sil and used his clockwork contraptions to attack Mournhold so Almalexia could paint Sotha Sil as a villain and she would come in and save the day. This was for the purpose of having Sotha Sil's followers abandon him and switch to her and it also served the purpose of making the Dunmer people even more committed in their belief that Almalexia is a god. Her plan also involved drawing the Neveraine out and killing him/her in the same place as Sotha Sil and probably so she could put part of the blame on you as well, Although she is killed by the Neveraine before she could accomplish her scheme. Almalexia was certainly powerful but nowhere near the same level of power she had possessed beforehand, and her scrounging for scraps of power that led her to murder Sotha Sil and harm her own people to accomplish that is proof enough of that fact.
vivec was molag bal b*tch he didn't fight molag bal and this is why you don't see any dolmen in vivec city, Great video Btw i hope we see vivec in Elder scroll 6
I hope they shed more light on Vivec. I think he is alive possibly trying to regain his strength so he won't need the heart and hopefully come back to Tamriel and serve as a Saint in Morrowind again acting kinda as a God but not to the extent of worship.
Vivec enters coldharbor Vivec: Hey Molag Bal, I noticed that you're giving some power for a fair price( ͡~ ͜ʖ ͡°). Molag Bal: Oh yeah if you're interested in blood sucking Vivec: i'm more in need of that big spear of yours Molag Bal: you just need to ask babe
The weird metaphysical stuff is what made elder scrolls so damn cool. Skyrim plays like a great game, but lacks all the depth that Morrowind had. Oblivion got it only when the Shivering Isles DLC came out, gave some great worldbuilding, and you got to know the best god in the damn game, Sheogorath.
Lore Hiccup: Vivec was something of a hermaphrodite, but Vehk probably wasn't as a mortal. Vehk's mortal backstory is likely different than Vivec the god's backstory, because of manipulation of events and CHIM; Vivec was Chimer and Dunmer because he was "Vehk and Vehk", and simultaneously Vivec, the god, who was loyal to Indoril Nerevar, and Vehk the mortal, who murdered Indoril Nerevar with the other conspirators within the Tribunal. Its possible to consider Vivec as something of a living Dragon Break.
Christina Wandell no it was indeed sheogorath but mehrunes dagon attacked and destroyed mournhould capital of Morrowind ( I think he did it even twice)
Vivec is very interesting. But I want to put this out there; He disappeared “with” Azura’s banishment. It never says after, before, or when entirely other than the next line stating his disappearance. So, mortal, I ask you this: did Vivec die? Did he squaller in pain and suffer? Or did he raise to power with the traitor of your people? Did he go to a never-ending twilight? Or was it both?
You forgot to mention how he is one of the few mortals ever to have achieved CHIM. I believe this is what made him more powerful than the other two Tribunal members, and what allowed him to remain powerful even after they all lost their connection to the Heart of Lorkhan. As it is, the method of attaining CHIM seems to have devised by Lorkhan to help mortals achieve apotheosis and thereby become even more powerful than the et'Ada. And so it could be theorized that having already achieved CHIM may have granted Vivec a greater affinity for the Heart and its power that Almalexia and Sotha Sil didn't enjoy.

I mean, it is certainly a unique backstory, but if everything is a dream, and all characters, gods, etc are just split-split-split personalities, then everything is meaningless fiction from an IN-UNIVERSE perspective. @@reidparker1848 I'm not fond of the Dreamer idea either. I like aspects of CHIM, but I prefer to think of the various mentions of them as incomplete understandings. Much how the real world works, one person might make a discovery of something, but it takes often decades of further research and study to come to a more complete understanding of it. That's what is going on in-universe about a lot of the more esoteric matters. Like their understanding of the cosmos. So that's explains why a certain youtuber I saw reviewing the game said that the nerevar was killed by vivec's giant penis sword.
He skipped a lot of shit. maybe you can do a better video.
Also when he had to go for a while he left his head and basically said "do your thing homeboy"

Sounds about right.

I liked Vivec. Were I him though, I'd have disposed of the meteor. Maybe safely place it somewhere. Would have saved a lot of trouble in the long run.
Still, it was an efficient message for his followers, even if it didn’t appear “loving” to some.
Nicholas Morgan it would have been fine if someone didn't try to save their lover from being sacrificed to the machine keeping the moon floating. Apparently if you want to save the one you love, you should break the machine that's stops this from killing. Everyone

Vivec don't gotta explain $#!t. It's CHIM.
You left out a lot of important information, or had some information incomplete:
-Vivec was born from a mix of a Chimer woman and a Dreugh
-The three advisors swore to Azura, which makes their breaking the oath that much more serious
-Dagoth Ur was not called that at the time, his name was Voryn Dagoth of House Dagoth
-Vivec banished Azura by utilizing CHIM, a state of existence only achieved by him and the enantiomorphic entity Talos
- You barely talked about anything from the Sermons. The only things you mentioned from it was his youth and his fights with the Daedric Princes
-I'm pretty sure the Ghostfence had some importance as well

*In the lore:* Has a spear made out of his dick and can slay avatars of gods with it. Has unlimited power called CHIM, which is often used to retcon the series to fit the game and character or to shape entire landmasses.
"It just works."

(also, the spear wasn't made out of their dick... more so molag bal's dick, iirc. making a spear out of their dick would be impressive, however)
I thought the mace of Malag Bal was Molag Bal's dick.
Mostly from this: www.imperial-library.info/content/what-my-beloved-taught-me
No opinion on the fact that CHIM changes reality in the past, present and future?
Samuel Passow thank you. I am glad someone else actually knew that.
Nw that youve fone Vivec, could you do a video on CHIM? Or the God Head Theory?
Jordan Smith you gotta cover CHIM first before touching upon the Godhead.
I've debated about whether or not to do one on CHIM, but now I'm leaning against it. Frankly I'm not really sure I understand it myself, and I think it goes beyond the casual overviews that this series focuses on.
Yeah, it is QUITE the mindfuck that would require a big video.
"CHIM. Those who know it can reshape the land. Witness the home of the Red King Once Jungled." - Commentaries on the Mysterium Xarxes, Book Three
"Let me show you the power of Talos Stormcrown, born of the North, where my breath is long winter.' 'I breathe now, in royalty, and reshape this land which is mine. I do this for you, Red Legions, for I love you" - Heimskr
Those two in-game quotes from Oblivion and Skyrim describe CHIM far better than any video could, tbh

The tribunal wanted to use the tools and neravar was against this so, vivec stabbed him though the chest with his spear

The ELder Scrolls lore is so much deeper than the games will ever be.
My favourite TES character, right here.
Lol, you left out the part how Azura was banished with Molag Bal's weaponised junk.
I think achieving chim, combined with the poetic and weird person that he is, resulted in his god-life being poetic and weird as well.
blazednlovinit I thought Vivec used the Dragonbreak from Numidium to change history, Hurling Disc and all
Not sure you can say that TES is moving away from them.

I remember meeting Vivec. I didn't know some of this information. Thanks!

Potato swagmasta Even if it is, ESO's broken lore and horrible representation of Vehk shouldn't be considered canon tbh.
@@caramel7050 ESO explores the metaphysical aspects of the lore debatably more than any other TES game and they represented Vivec very well. See in TES 3 Vivec was a lot more dark and solum that reflected the state of Morrowind. In ESO Morrowind is in a much better state and Vivec is cheerful and has a general brighter mood. And why would they want to represent Vehk? Vehk the mortal died long ago.
Didn't the events of Morrowind happen in the third era?
Yes, but Dagoth Ur first reappeared in the second era.
Elder scrolls 3 is where it started for me! I still spend some time playing it now and then.
I entered backwards. Started with Skyrim, praised Oblivion, and I refuse to release my Steam Data on Morrowind.
There are no historical unaccuracies - Nerevar got murdered by the Tribunal; Dagoth Ur was faithful til the very end; ALL HAIL RESDAYNIA!
Can you do a video of Mannimarco?
I really tried to read the 36 lessons but damn it is one of the most messed up books i have ever read.
Ty for the art feature. Love Vivec.
Every race, every gender, every hero, both divine and finite... but in the end, he can only be Vivec."
-Sotha Sil
Oh so Vivec was already half sexed from the start? I didn't know that...
TheSchmeister Nah he made himself into an Himafarodite before he obtained Godhood. It says it in the teachings of Vivec.
Ah from absorbing the heart of Lorkhan?
ESO has done pretty well and I hope Bethesda takes from them and their present reception.

the nereverine can kill vivec without too much hassle
key word being "can kill" doesn't make it a lore kill all that's talked about Vivec that happens after Morrowind is that Vivec disappeared, so I wouldn't count that considering its something that you/the Nerevarine "can" and not something that you "will" do.
Eso vivecs dialogue is fantastic.
Have you done a video about Dagoth Ur? If not, do it.

Vivec and Dagoth Ur are one of the best characters in gaming history period. Vivec alone has more depth than entire Skyrim (the game).
All of the writing and lore behind Morrowind is extremely intelligent and creative.
My 36 sermons are all you need to believe about me.
TRAITOR! LIAR! FALSE PROPHET! I THOUGHT I KILLED YOU WHEN I DID A NON CANNON PLAYTHROUGH OF MORROWIND!!!!
p.s, your city sucks :)
*laughs in daedric crescent stunlock*
Didn't the writer for the Lessons of Vivec more or less lock himself in a room for a week with a bottle of alcohol while writing them?
Deadlines, man.
I loved this video, thanks!
I thought it was Mehrunes Dagon who threw the meteor
Christina Wandell no it was indeed sheogorath but mehrunes dagon attacked and destroyed mournhould capital of Morrowind ( I think he did it even twice)
aysseralwan But Vivec proceeded to kick his arse afterwards
Sonny Megeary he fought all three of them, he heavily injured Alexi and crippled sotha but was eventually banished
I thought the Argonians were the ones that attacked Mournhold?
they do in 4e i believe....i was wrong about Mehrunes dagon though.
Or was it both?
he chillin with nerevar in akavir, banging snake vampire people with his molag bal weaponized junk and his own junk and shit
Well, after turned into a Vampire by baal himself he keeps on eating people. In one or the other way.

CHIM is plausibly deniable, and because it ruins the Elder Scrolls, I reject it. Keep Kirkbride's self-indulgent bullshit out of TES. Just play the games and enjoy the lore that doesn't read like a bad acid trip.
@@reidparker1848 Hahahaha Very true. I feel as though he has some good ideas, but that it's probably better that he's not in full creative control. A lot of what he writes for TES is probably best reined in and refined quite a bit.

I'm glad that Bethesda both drops hints at CHIM and provides alternate explainations which deny it in their games. I mean, it is certainly a unique backstory, but if everything is a dream, and all characters, gods, etc are just split-split-split personalities, then everything is meaningless fiction from an IN-UNIVERSE perspective. I like the Elder Scrolls because of the unique way the races are presented (rather than generic fantasy stereotypes), not because I like Kirkbride's LSD-philosophy.
In my own head-canon, they're on a planet much like our own, in a solar system and galaxy like our own, and that their various conceptions of the Aurbis are incorrect as they're not technologically and scientifically advanced enough to know better. But that's just me.
The next logical topic would be the concept of CHIM. Keep up the good work!
