I just love how much dedication and joy you represent in your videos. Been following you for ages. I'm doing the cheat and recover workouts right now. Never been in better form. You're improving, but so are we! Just a big thank you bro.
Anteater98 he always makes them minimum 10 mins long and even when there's nothing left in the video to say he would just wait till 10:01 😂 just search some of his videos where he has just put an ending 2 mins long to reach the 10 min mark... Now it's his mark to do that...😁
Dr. zombie that's what he is saying..but apparently Scott doesn't wanna earn by saying crap content just to increase video length.. that's why respect!!🙏
This is a refreshing fitness channel. Scott Herman comes across as genuine, offers good tips but also isn't wedged up his rear like a lot of instructors seem to be.
Agree 200%. You have described how I have been training the last 6 years and I have seen more results than the previous 28 years training in typical Bodybuilding “bro” style. This combined with a strict nutritious meal plan has been very successful for me. It also drastically reduces the chance of injury (barring making stupid ego lifts occasionally) as you don’t need as much weight to stimulate growth and results.
Right on John! It's important for people to know that in order to gain muscle, the amount of weight you lift is important, but not THE most important factor. Got to have that diet dialled in too!
That moment I felt great that I am doing these tips in the gym even long before this vid is uploaded. 2 months and counting hoping to see more gains. More power Scott :)
Thanks man! Really means a lot!! Make sure you check out the 12 week programs available on my site so you can get ready for my Cheat & Recover program! muscularstrength.com/Full-Workout-Programs
Thanks to you Scott when i swtiched form calisthenics to weightlifting i already knew everything about training and nutrition and now only for 2 mounts i got bigger than people training for almost an year .Thank you so much , keep up the good content !
Commenting yet again! Thank you for these videos. I guess watching your previous videos have helped me with most of this already. Thank you for posting it! One of the first times I've watched your videos and have been like "HEY I'M DOING SOMETHING RIGHT!" LOL and it works. 2 months in and i can already see an feel a difference!
Scott the honest teacher, no broscience. Love you Scott. Keep it up, thanks for teaching us so much throughout the years. Guys like you are rare these days.
I tried for 30 seconds and accidentally clicked on another video trying to get what I thought was a hair but it's your fucking name symbol by your comment. I know I'm not the only one!
Way ahead of you man, always have a timer next to me, 60 second rest between sets, already did 1 cardio session this morning, 2 lifting sessions, will be doing my 3rd lift session tonight. P.S. have experienced the notification issue on a different channel even though it's now fixed on yours. Seems it's hitting a great deal of youtube. After getting the latest update on my phone and only watching on my phone issues disappeared
Heya Scott. Remember a while back you talked about slow twitch and fast twitch muscle fibers and the training method required for them individually? Well, I’ve learned about myself that my gains, physique and strength all go up when I do *MORE* working sets, meaning I’m more towards the slower end. Anyway, keep up the good work and merry christmas.
Insanely good video! I knew the three mechanisms but was not really sure of what they actually meant but now I Will be able to crush my workouts even more thanks to u! Keep grinding!
This is hilarious...I was thinking about emailing you and asking you about the situation I'm about to describe, but the video you uploaded today answers it. Here it is... I was working out on Tuesday and was doing dumbbell shoulder press, 4 sets with a rep range of 15/10/10/10. Barely got 15 on set 1, barely got 10 on set 2 (matter of fact I went rouge and used C&R on the last rep...lol). I knew going into set 3 that there was NO WAY I was going to be able to get 10 at the same weight, started the set with the weight and got to 8, shoulders on absolute FIRE, put the weight down for 15 seconds, picked them back up and knocked out the last 2, shoulders still on FIRE!!! Last set I had to drop the weight be 5 lbs, go to 6 or 7 then used C&R on the last few.
Unfortunately, here in Greece, most of the gym instructors teach to their customers the second mistake(increased weight in every set). Of course, I will follow your advice Scott...Thanks again!
Thanks for watching man!! Make sure you check out the 12 week programs available on my site so you can get ready for my Cheat & Recover program! muscularstrength.com/Full-Workout-Programs
what you talked about is the first thing my private instructor told me about and i immediately saw a improvement on what i had been doing before i really is great to see a video fully explaining it for people that do not have a instructor or friends that know it already. what my instructors gets me to do to work all 3 that works really well i feel is i do say a set of 8 curls at 15kg which is my max. then as soon as i have done with set 1 i do 12 sit ups then have a 30 second break while i have a drink and stretch the muscles. this is then repeated 2 more times for a set of 3 then i move on and do the same with chest or what ever muscle with a in between exercise to compliment it.
You are awesome bro. you are greatly appreciated. Thumbs up, liked, and shared! The bell is always on! You got your shit together! much respect for the wisdom
Thanks Scotty I really like these points you made about the rest and the 2nd set bringing easy and that being a bad thing...I set my timer too...actually all 3 helps thanks again
Great tips as usual. I realized I’ve been waiting too long between sets when I squat and deadlift , and it’s also the adding plates or taking them off that takes time. Will try to do that quicker from now on!!!
hello Scott love from Middle East And Africa you are the best whenever i need to look in something i watch your videos you are inspire and amazing love your work keep it up :)
Great tips scott, I knew these but not in the detail you provided, that 10 second rest will save my volume. Also I remember a time where I thought arnold was natty and protein powders were steroids. How far ive come.
Wow!!! You are looking pretty pumped. Noticeable massive muscle growth. What in the heck have you been doing? I'm seeing some definite gains. Are you on any particular weight training program right now? I want the play by play.
Thanks man! I have been crushing my Cheat & Recover workouts, getting tons of volume, overload and eating HEAPS! Got the program coming soon if you want to give it a go! muscularstrength.com/Full-Workout-Programs
Thank you! I already have a video for mind-muscle connection: Can’t Feel The Right Muscles Activate During A Lift? Fix It By Improving Mind Muscle Connection! ruclips.net/video/-YnMsYS7Tt8/видео.html
I’ve always done sports lifting and stuff but this year I got gaston in my highschool’s musical and want pure muscle growth. This is very useful thank you!
Like that last tip. When I cant complete a set, I tend to pick up a lighter weight and end my set wit that one. After a minute, I go back to the heavier one. Will give the 10sec one a try ^^
Well then I hope you SMASHED it :-D Make sure you check out the 12 week programs available on my site so you can get ready for my Cheat & Recover program! muscularstrength.com/Full-Workout-Programs

Hey man, thanks for these tips. Solid and PROVEN advice. I used to know these things but forgot them. Your reminder will make a difference. Also the 2 stretch/flex muscle building tips I didn't know but they are obviously correct as well because I happen to watch a training videos of Jeremy B who recently won 4th Mr O Men's Physique and in said video his trainer made him flex his delts after a punishing set. It's obviously working for him. Solid advice man. Stay excellent my friend...... EP
Scott, I made these same mistakes, and they nearly cost me gym time. Remember my ankle issue? I don't make those mistakes anymore. Now I hit it hard, heavy, and short. I really appreciate your wonderful advice, buddy. Thank you!💯😀💪🙌
Great video Scott! My question is on your first topic about keeping the weight as heavy as you can go within a rep range, what do you do if you can't get a hold of the lighter weight after say a first set that would allow you to keep withing a your target range? For example say curl 20kg for set 1 at 8-10 reps and then you need to go to 18kg for set 2 due to muscle fatigue, but all the plates are taken.
The title should be "3 things I wish I knew before I STAH-TED training."
GeneNonymous omg you made my day bro
Lmaoo
fucking hilarious
I just love how much dedication and joy you represent in your videos. Been following you for ages. I'm doing the cheat and recover workouts right now. Never been in better form. You're improving, but so are we!

Agree. I have that experience. When I felt impossible to finish the rest reps, just stop for a some seconds and I could finish the work.
Great tips scott, I knew these but not in the detail you provided, that 10 second rest will save my volume. Also I remember a time where I thought arnold was natty and protein powders were steroids. How far ive come.
