Nobody else is producing content this clean and well composed. This sounds like music made in a time where the artists actually had to have the talent and couldn't just feed it through a computer to sound good.
Kind of a reach back to the classic Doom days of Candlemass, Saint Vitus, and Sabbath. I love the death-doom scene like My Dying Bride, Paradise Lost, and Woods of Ypres but true doom metal was never supposed to have death metal vocals.
These guys do not get the love they deserve. Saw them yesterday in Paris before Paradise Lost, we were like 5 guys, in the 250+ attending the concert, moving our heads. Heard things like "too slow", "the guy can't sing", etc. Sometimes I just don't understand people. They have a f***ing quality show in front of them (which is getting rare), from of band that tries to bring something new in metal music, and they can't enjoy it
When I first listened to these guys, well, shit, I wasn't sure if I liked them for not, to be perfectly honest. Now I have their songs and lyrics playing in my head, daily, hourly, until I play it for real. Yes a truly underated band, and also misunderstood. Mad appreciation for these guys.
The Great Magnet High On Fire, Voivod, Van Gough, Tool?, System of a Down, Melvins, King Diamond, King Woman there's a lot more. I'm happy to see the genre having a resurgence.
+Matt Allan totally forgot about High on Fire! Can't wait to hear their next work. Good looking out, really appreciate you sharing these releases. Time to mark my music calendar!
Rebirth of casual metal, maybe. Mid-tempo, accessible, bad vocal, hipster dad metal. This (Pallbearer) ain't metal. Sounds like like someone left a Big Muff plugged in for the backing band of an American Idol performance
I love everything about this song. The layered guitars coupled with the layered vocal harmonies make it thicker than Bronto balls. The breakdown/bridge thing at 3:52 has almost a Tool vibe to it, without getting into a pretentious feel. The chorus is soaring and the verse is interesting. I love the guitar outro. His singing has improved since their last full length for sure. Great tune. Can't wait for record.

Why am I only just this second discovering this incredible band? It's like if Mastodon and Iron Maiden had a baby that looked a little bit like Mammoth Weed Wizzard Bastard and I love it
This is a great track from a terrific album. I can't get into their earlier material but can't stop listening to Heartless. It's just so different from anything out there.
An opus, that I hope, if not within my lifetime, is discovered by the masses of future generations, for the musical majesty that this record is. I will fight to ensure the continuation of humanity, so that many generations, far removed from my own, may know that this was considered a pinnacle of all creation by this lone man. It is worth all humanity struggles through on march the 1st of 2022, to ensure this one track's continuation throughout the ages. I hope many souls one day learn of this musical masterpiece. Thank you for your contribution to humanity, this is such a gift.
Holy fuck, the first chords made me think "this isn't pallbearer", but once the first riff kicked in I've been hooked once again. Pallbearer, along with Elder and a couple other bands have made me come back to metal. This year will be magical.
Switched on the radio last night and caught this osng halfway through. The proceeding 3 mins were spent thinking "Is this pallbearer? Naaaah......wait it fucking is as well. Or is it?" I love their other albums but I think they would grow stale if they didn't try to switch it up on this one.
The video when it gets info that riff towards the end is fucking amazing. The riff is sooo fun to play too, I've got it memorized, i can play it without looking, but can't make make it sound as good as these guys...same with Elder and ASGs survive sunrise....they both have such a ridiculous "flow" with their rhythms. I have a friend who hates rock/metal music and I had this blasting while we were doing hot rails the other day....a minute in, was the first time I saw him headbang in 20 years of friendship. I smiled and.nodded at him, and he said "it flows so well, not gunna lie". Good times, better music
The beginning of this song hits my feels so hard, man. Been following them since the "Sorrow" album, and I've yet to be let down with a Pallbearer release. Hails and much doom!
I've loved these fellas for sometime and have felt some of their stuff on the deep end but, BUT...this song I can't get enough of. Super badass, love the change ups. Can't wait to finally catch them live.
These guys sound like a natural progression of the doom scene - I'm hearing influences in there from Paradise Lost, My Dying Bride as well as a tip of the cap to the forefathers such as Candlemass and Solitude Aeturnus. Glad to hear Doom is alive and well in 2017 as just as melancholic! Be good to see them in the UK on Nov 3!
Drove down from the ozark mountains, across the ouachitas and back to Texas on a clear night. The stars were shining brilliantly and the moon was just barely cresting over the tree line. This band was blaring through the speakers the whole journey. Stopped for a dram at Maxine's in Hot Springs, AR. Raise the horns!
Dude, I've been listening this song since yesterday and I can't even think to stop. I mean, it's a nice tune, but nothing more than that! It sounds to me like dirty magic...
I'm so glad to see this band starting to get some recognition, and also giving a sonic nod to their forefathers, Paradise Lost, My Dying Bride, and Anathema.
Far beyond awesome! Those sorry nitpickers saying this wasn't true Pallbearer need to pull their heads out of those asses wherever they're stuck in. Jeez... Sweet, sweet music...
Literally the first time I’ve listened to this and love it! Need to check out their other stuff, they may just fill the Him shaped hole in this ageing gal’s life. 💋
This band and album could never have enough likes here on RUclips They are Masters of their craft and in my opinion stand alone in their Greatness This is Epicus Doomicus Metallicus!!!!!! \m/
Just heard this band the first time what an awesome experience. Thanks to Edwin santiago guitar dude who featured pallbearer for his content, what if sped up doom/stoner.
Sounds pretty good, vocals are expanding range in a cool way. I still think they have something special. I listened to Foundations about a million times over....
Check out their first album Sorrow and Extinction. More towards traditional doom than this, heavier and more somber. In my opinion they're gonna have a hard time topping it. Don't get me wrong, I love their second album and this third one will likely be great, but Sorrow and Extinction is a masterpiece.
WritingRhymes WithLessTime with their newest sound Pallbearer does sorta fit somewhere in between traditional doom like Candlemass and more melodic modern metal like Mastodon. It's a loose description but people who aren't devout followers of either band or this type of music are bound to, and often do, make the comparison. In short, and to put it more bluntly, I wouldn't have made the comparison but I can see how someone would (and did), and you don't have to be a dick about it.
mastodon and Pallbearer are nothing close. This song was a surprise but I feel it. Change ups are great. It's pretty rockin but very unlike the earlier Pallbearer. I like the fact they started this album with something completely different than their norm. I give it a thumbs up 😂

A little Candlemass and a little Tool sprinkled with some Empire-era Queensryche vocal melodies....pure magic. Looking forward to the new album!
I knew I wasn’t the only one who heard some tool in there lol
Doom Metal... With clean vocals and mellancholic melodies!!! Oh, yeah! It's what I need.

Elder, Mastodon, Pallbearer, Sleep, the list goes on and on. This year is the rebirth of metal in a big way. Heartless is going to be great.

the layered guitars and layered vocals are so sick and beautiful
