Ok. It took me about 3 listens to say “Hell yeah, brother”. But here I am on listen number 29 saying “Fuck yes, brethren”.
I now have to come back to say thank you "Pallbearer" for making this. The last weeks I had (still in it) to go through relationship divorce and feeling really sad, confused, and helpless. so many times the only thing I could do was listening to this record over and over again and just let emotions come out. I cried a lot to it. the melodies combined with the heaviness are beyond beautiful. and the way the lyrics speak to me is crazy.. It's like therapy, also like a friend and now deeply connected to this phase of my life and I am so extremely grateful that you guys created this and released it at this moment in time. Much love, looking forward to see you live one day ❤ :)

Pallbearer is an enigma. I've never "liked" one of their songs or albums on first listen. But then a melody or riff will keep resurfacing in my mind and I'll feel the urge to go back and listen again. Without fail, I'll come to connect with their albums on a seriously personal level. It's like they write and release exactly what I need to hear, when I need to hear it.
This song feels like Pallbearer meets David Bowie meets Elliott Smith.
An absolutely perfect song. Can't wait to see them live in August.

With the exception of the album Heartless, which I loved pretty much instantly (especially Dancing in Madness), I totally agree. Their stuff is always such a trip, though. I find the really washy clean sections that they lean on come across with extreme vulnerability, and then the heavy sections hit HARD.

I’ll be honest, I’ve never been a huge Pallbearer fan. They’ve never really been able to reel me in. That being said, along comes this single (and album). Just wow. Blown away, and now see the band through a different perspective. Congratulations gentlemen.
What a track, wow. Brett with 9 string guitar and Devin with a Tele, this album is going to be absolutely amazing. "I feel my head going under", fucking love this band.
Pallbearer never failed to amaze, but this time they're taking it to another level. While having delivered some of the heaviest riffs in the universe, like the final one of "Worlds apart", it was always the heart-wrenching emotion that took me.
Pallbearer sing their hearts out.
When they sing something, they mean it.
The drums are a thunder, always on point.
Two clearly distinguishable guitars, from mountain - erasing doom force to searing sheer beauty.
And, oh man, that bass. This otherworldly vibrating in the guts rather than the ears. Full of expression of feeling.
A mix nothing short of perfect.
And when you have the chance to meet them, they are the nicest of guys, down to earth, having a chat, warm beautiful human beings.
How much some of us need Pallbearer - songs... hopefully they know.
Making grown up men weep while watching their video or their gigs. Just wonderful.

I had the same reaction, except in the opposite direction 😂. What in the actual fuck is this. Take the four dudes in Pallbearer, minus doom, minus metal, and this is what you have I guess. Oh well.. I’m just like anyone who started listening to a band at the start of their career, in which they have since changed direction musically. Cant stay the same forever, and I wouldn’t expect it. Honestly not hating on it, and any of you that like this, congrats on sticking with them. But I’m certainly lost on whatever this is

I can’t remember the last time I heard something so beautiful.
Pallbearer seemingly stretches its musical wings with this years release, going softer and melodic, maybe in even grunge than doom as with the album title track - I must say I dig the fresh bold approach even if I'm a huge fan of Heartless and Fountains' more crushing takes. They stylistic change might disappoint some people but to me it's quite fascinating.
The last song on the new album is as heavy as anything they've done, wish it was longer

I have to admit the first time I heard this song I straight up didn’t like it. Despite Pallbearer being one of my very favorite bands, this seemed like such a departure from what drew me to them in the first place. I’ve probably spun this song a dozen times now. I can’t get enough. It’s beautiful. Mind Burns Alive is without a doubt my most anticipated release this year.

Fantastic job to everyone involved in this. But I must say, that bass tone at the very end was the chef's kiss. It would've been easy to bury that in the mix, but I'm so happy it wasn't. Great song, great mix, great video, fantastic band.

Very different from their usual offering, but I like it. I actually thought they might've got a new singer for the first minute or so. Had to take to Google. Nice to see they're continuing to experiment rather than just releasing the same album under a new name every year, ala Disturbed or Godsmack or something.

Standing here in the hospital with all these recovering drug addicts. Everyone here can resonate eith this track. Im looking around seeinfg the dispare on their faces. They all share this simular fate. Ive been doingthisa long time and it never changes. Ill be dead soon. So will all of them. Time will speed past us as if standing still. I move throughthe souls feeling every cut, every needle, every heart beat. Its always the same. Sad faces, this is what our society has become.
Brother, keep fighting. I know it's an unequal fight for all of us. No one uninvolved will understand the unbearable suffering, you and we all are going through.
But still you are not alone. Where ever you are, I feel you.
We just have this one life. As long as you breathe, there is also hope, Somewhere hidden far behind our misery.
Fighting it it for over a decade now, don't know how I survived. The physical is rough, but the depression and the self-blame...
I just want to free myself from this demon, who is torturing me for so long.
You are not alone.
We can beat it.
One last thing : there are some meds who helped me a lot tapering it down. Just discovered them by random lately. They make a huge difference compared to the standard meds they use to give to soothe the pain.
Maybe I can give you an advice so you might ask your rehab therapists if they might give them to you. Don't know if it is allowed to mention names of meds on YT, as I am no doctor.
Dude don't give up on life...just think about it there is such beautiful things like this song worth fighting for. I'm going into rehab in a few days and things like this song and many other keeps me motivated. Just look deep inside your soul and keep fighting....here we all are moving on forwards despite the struggles of ourselves and those of our lives...greetings from Poland my man
