  • Since the last election, Trump has been a big proponent of the Taiwan-based electronic manufacturer Foxconn's opening of a massive factory in Wisconsin, promising thousands of new jobs. But millions of taxpayer dollars and zero manufactured goods later, it seems like the people of Wisconsin have been Fox-conned. Ronny Chieng investigates. #DailyShow #RonnyChieng #Wisconsin

I think this is the first piece of satire that I've seen that points out the stupidity of seeing job creation as the be all and end all of politics.

Several outlets reported this years ago, there are several RUclips videos about this from news networks, even down Microsoft coming, and Biden talking about how Foxconn was the investment that never was, it was a thing.

Thank you Ronni Chang, absolutely great piece
I kinda love the comedic style and it’s actually impressive how relaxed and comedic the interview with Foxconn was
(I don’t think that’s an easy thing to do)

This only happened because the village officials wanted it. These officials said newly built homes were ‘blighted’, which allowed them to take the land and give it to Foxconn. If Mt. Pleasant didn’t want Foxconn, it wouldn’t have gotten off the ground. The trustees mentioned in the video are simple folks without any impressive qualifications. Some run with minimal to no opposition in the village election. On top of that there were just a handful of very young village employees who helped push this through. Trump and Foxconn didn’t push people out of their homes, it was Mt. Pleasant, 100%. Many stories online about it.
