    I have had squamous cell skin cancer and Mohs surgery twice. My last visit to my dermatologist I was diagnosed with actinic keratosis. I was prescribed a chemotherapy compound cream of fluorouracil and calcipotriene. After searching youtube, I only found horrific videos from users who used fluorouracil to treat AK. There treatments were long and painful, but I’m told this new advanced duo cream will be faster and less invasive. I will continue to document and upload videos as I progress through this treatment. I will see my dermatologist on Day 10 to determine if I can stop or continue more days. (You can find all the videos in my “skin cancer” playlist: • Skin Cancer )

    I genuinely appreciate your completely open dialogue and showing us up close - what this looks like. I was just diagnosed with squamous as well - but just one small spot on my temple. I'm at day 14 of 21 - of a once-a-night treatment with Fluorouracil. I'm sure with time - I may require additional and more expansive treatment. Thank you!!

      The compound with calcipotriene is more effective and less days needed. I recommend asking your doc about it if necessary in future.

    Kathy, this is one of the high lighted youtube videos o startup page , when I came on youtube, Actinic Keratosis is getting too much sun, I dont know a lot about it, but keep your face out of the sun as much as possible. it does go away, my understanding. My thoughts are going your way for a speedy recover. Keep Smiling. Cheers !

      RONS BEER REVIEWS & TOOLS Hi Ron! Nice to hear from you! Yes AK is caused from sun damage over many years. It unfortunately does not go away without chemotherapy and left untreated can turn into squamous cell cancer. I’m glad I caught it early. I want to bring awareness to young individuals to wear sun screen and hats.

    HOW I GOT CURED: Thanks for the Dermatology video most internal medicine guys are weak in Derm but, this stuff is really important. Skin cancer is no joke I got cut twice for premalignant cells on my left arm around 4 years ago... Yes the pathology biopsy came back nevus but, the dermatologist look at the histology printout and said it looked like premalignant cells. He recommended surgery and the first surgeon was wonderful but according to the pathologist she didn't get all of the premalignant cells so a second surgery was ordered and this surgeon was a butcher, she was terrible. Just goes to shows that all doctors are not created equal. What I found out later is the hospitals and doctors in Tampa Fl and the whole United State involved where playing political games and I never needed any of the surgery. At the same time a neurologist at the same hospital diagnosed me with Multiple Sclerosis (M.S.), which I didn't have and he wanted to start me on 6 shots of interferon a day immediately. Good thing I went to another hospital for a second opinion where that neurologist said I definitely did not have any signs of M.S. I also found out that these doctors work with corrupt lawyers to make money off insurance companies, pharmaceuticals etc... This is the reason I don't tolerate any corruption in medicine. My mom's doctor got 3 years in prison for fraudulently falsifying medical diagnosis's with a lab and treating people that didn't have those illnesses. I have worn long sleeve shirts and hat's ever since and the premalignant cells have never returned... This video could save some life's, very important. I decided to dedicate the rest of my life to studying natural herbal herbs which lead me with the contact of Dr Abiola who was able to cure me of this Skin Cancer. All human lives have value and should be treated like a reasonable person and everyone who want to be cured should be told the truth. I will be starting this 11/6/21. I’m terrified. Dermatologist gave me the prescription in August, told me to wait until late fall to use it.

    • @Kathysvlogchannel
      @Kathysvlogchannel  2 года назад +1

      Hello! Don’t be terrified. You will do fine. Doing it in winter is best but you still have to avoid the sunlight. I stayed indoors mostly the entire week I applied the treatment. In hindsight I should have stopped after day 6 and then allow to peel and heal. I ended up needing a steroid shot on day 10 for itching but that was the day I saw my dermatologist after she saw how reactive I had become. Don’t hesitate to call your derm even if every day you have questions. Keep the aquafor on it too.

    Kathy, thanks for your video. I have had AK's for decades and used Efedex/fluorouricil for decades. I'm a redhead. My Mohs surgeon told me about this. I share your problems.
    I will say that efudex works well but it takes weeks and weeks to work. And it is a painful period.
    Do you have any later videos?

    Hi Kathy, So my dermatologist prescribed the compound of the 2 meds and advised 5-7 days but he mentioned most stop at 5. I did 6 days last January and just finished my 2nd treatment of 6 days. My skin was incredible after the treatment last year but I decided to try again. It seems you are using the 2 meds way longer than most have recomended? However, 4 days just did not seem enough and 6 gave me the result I was looking for. thanks for doing the video!

      Hello! I agree; and today I am on day 6 of doing this same treatment again. I have stopped and my reaction was not quite as bad this go around. I’ve been documenting it this week and plan to upload one video of all the days and discussing an upcoming mohs surgery in May this year for a spot on my nostril.

      @@Kathysvlogchannel Thanks for the reply! One other item I confirmed, but it may vary among doctors, is when to start using the Aquafor. My doc said I could use at the end of the treatment but it wasn't a required part of the treatment but more to keep the skin moist so it doesn't feel like it's cracking!... He had mentioned you want the old skin to exfoliate so the Aquafor was maily for comfort as you shouldn't have any open sores, etc. with the compound treatment. Also, i tried on the tops of my hands and arms for a full week and got absolutely no reaction. This is likely because the skin is thicker in those areas and may require a longer period. My doc said I could try 10 days in those areas and would be ok being it's not going to create a toxic reaction, etc. by doing the treatment longer. Does your doctor have any advice on that? thanks!

      @@jprice561 thanks - yes the aquafor is quite helpful with keepimg the skin from drying and cracking. As a woman personally I hate it because of vanity and what it looks like and does to my hairstyle, lol.
      My doctor explained that 14 days is maximum for any areas not reacting. I continue to get more red on day 7 today and no treatment has been applied since day 5.

      I assume you are using only Flurorouracil. The compound with calcipotriene is usually no more than ten days of treatments.
