- -Welcome to the Sleep Ranch! We are located in the Northern Black Hills on the South Dakota/ Wyoming border where our ancestors settled and started ranching in 1883.
I (Carson) work alongside my parents, Jeff and Jodi, our ranch hand, Jaques, my wife, Damaris who also works as a nurse in town, and our two sons Silas and Leyton! We have friends and family who come along very frequently as well!
We run a cow/calf operation where we summer our cattle on the Black Hills National Forest and winter them in the foothills of the Black Hills. We also have a backgrounding feedlot, and grow alfalfa and grass hay.

Thank you for keeping your content clean. It’s refreshing to see hard workers not beg for money/gifts! Thanks again
Our country may not be perfect but it is head and shoulders above any other country in the world. Happy Fourth of July! Thank a veteran or military member for their sacrifices and celebrate our unique independence.
You cant honestly believe your country is head and shoulders above any other country
WE MOST CERTAINLY DO.🗽❤🇺🇸@@tangles444
@@tangles444 Yes we do and if you loved your country you would feel the same about it

I wouldn't want to live any where but the United States❤😊
I love how you take care of the animals. I hope you have a good hay crop this year and happy Fourth of July. Y’all be safe.
Glad you didn't get rained out cutting hay.
I smile when you wipe your hands on your shirt, my son does the same thing. Happy Independence Day to you & your fam🇱🇷

Hope you guys have a great 4th tomorrow, I plan on eating too much and maybe hanging at the pool trying to stay cool, with the triple heat index's here in west TN!
Thanks Carson for sharing another great video. So glad Trump is steady, praying meds help.
Happy Independence Day!!!!! I'll be enjoying my freedom & counting my Blessings.
That battery powered grease gun is the best invention I do believe.
No kidding!
It’s our Wedding Anniversary on the 4th of July( 54 years)🎉❤️🇨🇦
Thanks for taking time to share your time with us. Happy 4th of July 🇺🇸 to everyone there. Stay safe your friend in Michigan.❤️🦋
Happy 4th
Happy Independence Day to the Sleep Family and everyone else out there.
Happy 4th to you and your family
Here is a thought Carson get u a 20 volt dewalt 4” grinder carry with u and hit them blades to sharpen them up and maybe u wouldn’t have to change them out so frequently just a thought
Maybe he just wanted to take a break under the header 🤣 but yeah, probably many ways to do it. Looks like Carson had a great day regardless.
So informative for those of us that don't ranch and farm; my husband will enjoy this video. Glad to see you got some rain.
Your videos sure make me miss Wyoming.
The country there is so lush and green. Your animals have such beautiful pastures in which to spend the summer. At the seed company I worked for, we sold a lot of intermediate wheat grass, but your field is the first I've seen that is so thick and lush!
🎉 Happy fourth of july!🎉
Stay Christ curious it will help this nation.
Happy 4th to you and your family as well! You are trading your self-propelled every couple of years, are you also doing the same with you bailer? Take care my friend!
Wow! Great job with that grass! I would love to do that :) Im sending best regards from Czech republic :)
Nice video great Country yes
THANKS!
I’ve never owned a JD swather. I started using rotary pull type at not quite thirty years ago. I hang on to them until I can go down one side of the field and have to go back pick the parts up and put them back on then go down the other side. I usually rebuild them several times before trading up. They never owed me any money. The last pull type I owned for two years, and traded in on a Massey Ferguson used swather. It was only three years old but it’s the best swather I have owned. In a big day, I can cut 150 acres. I remember with the pull type I could cut 80. A few of my neighbors also went to Massey as well. It cut cleaner. We do custom cutting as well, not much maybe 300 acres. Like I said never owned a JD. Maybe one day. Your grass looks really good for the moisture.
Good luck with Trump he's a sweet boy
Thanks
Great job running the disk bine Carson
Happy 4th of July Sleep family and Jaques
Love it
Prayers 😊
Thank you for Feeding our Country. God bless you and your beautiful family. 🙋🏻♀️❤️🇺🇸
Great video Carson
Good to see you. Hope you and your family are all doing well. Have a great 4th. ❤
Happy $th to you and all the family, including Jaques. Hope you have a good haying season here it seems to want to rain every other day, so even though we don't want to complain about the rain a day or two break wouldn't break many farmers hearts. Also starting wheat harvest, we have about 500 acres off so not doing too bad so far. Good luck to ya, enjoy life, Al
Hey carson. Happy fourth of July 🎉 to you and all Sleep Ranch people! We also trade our combine every 3 years for the exact same reason you trade your swather. We don't.
Have time for repairing and it all trades the same wether we run the combine beyond three years or trade three years.
I'm still using manual grease guns.
I’m curious if the horses stay together up in the hills
Beautiful video. Run free horses.
Happy 4th of July! Take care of Mr Trump!🐎
As an ag banker I love to hear people think through their equipment ownership strategies. As a farmer and a poor excuse for a mechanic, I like your approach.
I know things are probably pretty mundane to you but I enjoy learning how things are done. Hope the family is all doing well. God Bless! Happy Independence day!
Enjoyed the video and the beautiful scenery where the horses were put.
Happy 4th of July to you and everyone in your family.🎉🎉🎉
We run 250 acres per side your's are like new yet
Yipeeeeeeeeeee we are free for the summer!
You would think that with today's technology that someone could make a cutting blade that lasts a lot longer than what you guys have!!!!
Happy 4th to all🎉
How do you find the horses in the fall? Do you ever sharpen those blades or just flip them and then replace them. I hope y'all get some good family time for the 4th celebrating being an American. God bless Cya next thyme, Steven
Another great video!!
Good morning !! 🌹🌹🌹
I noticed the SE part of SD got 6-8 inches of rain last week. How much did y’all get up there in NW part of SD ? Hay is looking good Carson.
Happy 4th of July!
Happy 4th of July to the Sleep family. Nice to see that the horses get a nice place to summer. Hope Trump does better.
I see that you use the Cenex ML 365 Grease a very good Grease Have you ever used the Blue Gard 500 Grease?
How much does a new set of blades run? Can they be sharpened? Is it advantagous to keep all the blades as a set together?
4th
Do you have pheasants around there, just wondering if you hit any nests?
I think you are being genres when you say that most people know what your doing 🤔
Most people are watching to learn what you are doing. 👍
Can you resharpen the blades, or is it not cost effective?
Is your horses branded are chipped?
Why do you put shoes on before they go to pasture?
No auto steering?
Continued Prayers for Trump 😊❤
I wouldn’t be turning shod horses out
Thanks
