Doing something original is hard because nowadays you can do a really well detail game and people be like, this is like Amongus but with added things , i think it's good that Lixian realized it but it's better that he still kept going rather then giving up because it's sounds the same as other game out there

I really like these "dev talk" sort of videos. As someone who's mildly interested in getting into the industry myself, it's cool to see someone build games, design cutscenes, prepare music, adding cats (that cat is SO cute), and how you deal with the bugs or unforeseen things that pop up. Thanks for sharing it! Also, "Oh my gosh I made a FNAF fangame," is infinitely funnier when you realize RUclips thinks this is FNAF and put the game into the recommended section under the video.
This is awesome. Iron Lung was just a simple horror game back in 2022. One year later, Lixian made a game based on it. And Markiplier is releasing a movie based on it. We witness the rise of the dynamic duo kings of horror games.
I love how difficult it is for everyone to pronounce his last name lmao. Szymanski is usually pronounced suh-man-ski I guess if you're Polish, it's pronounced shoe-man-ski but that's definitely not the USA, or specifically NY pronunciation
The opening talk of phobias reminded me of a concept for a game I had once, while I'm not actually interested in actively making games I think this might be an exception one day. Notaphobia, a word I made up, with "nota" being latin for "familiar." Basically a massive tribute/mashup of all the great indie mascot horror type games from FNAF onwards
lixians small drawn figure is by now probably one of the most iconic editors and content creator figures ever made. and i love it. wanna give it a headpat.
I really like this game! It was simple but challenging and the added cat was the cherry on top - because not only are you interested in what mysteries are lurking in the depths, you now have a motive to keep trying because you must make it back to that cat alive
Wait until Markiplier decides to give it a shot. (Edit) Ok yeah I get it! He played it! I saw! You think I would miss it? Also almost 3k likes? That's the most likes I've ever gotten on any RUclips comment! (Edit 2) Alright already!! I get it!! Markiplier made his own playthrough video of lixian's sinking iron!! Stop hassling me!! (Edit 3, 1 year later) I doubt this third edit will get noticed a year later, but I'm really excited to see Mark's new Iron Lung Movie. Anyone else think and HOPE Jacksepticeye will be in the movie? Because they are one of RUclips's iconic duos.
it's super inspiring seeing these one off projects, it seems like such a smart way to test your game development skills to make different things of all sorts of genre's, trying those different formulas to further branch out the kinds of things you can make, it's impressive seeing you make these things, super super good work!
Also as welding gun and monster sounds Ah heck, all sounds need to be voiced by him in this mod Exept for the dialogs. They will go on with google autovoicing. I feel a great mod out there...

Sincerely, thank you for posting videos like this. Even though this isn't my field (I'm in data science), seeing that such complex things like games can be broken down into simpler little objects (ahem egg timers, if you will) helps me look at my work with a different point of view. It genuinely helps me be a better programmer and enjoy my work a bit more, so thank you so much for what you do and for making such awesome projects!
Lixian always has the most creative ideas and never fails to deliver a great game 💙 Also really funny that he and Mark both had ideas for projects revolving around this game, just goes to show how awesome Iron Lung itself really is as a gaming experience
I watched Mark play and I have to say, it's been a joy to watch you improve every time you make a game. This game was tense with just the right amount of humor ("Captain over!" got funnier each time). I can't wait for MatPat to make a Game Theory about how the real monster is the adorable cat.
It's a very good game, and my god the cat is so cute, the hard mode seems to be too hard for me and I'm not able to keep up for now but will be back at it. Thanks for such an engaging game, definitely keeps you on your toes. And the music, cinematics and the whole ambience is just perfect.❤
Lixian... your game developing in this software... is exactly like mine in Rec Room. I LITERALLY USE the most basic tools, Animation Gizmos, Trigger Volumes... Buttons... the footage of creating the game reminds me so much of me struggling to keep my cyclops intact while i'm being mauled by somehow 2 reaper leviathans, and the sub itself textured and made like in barotrauma
I just played it. I haven’t done the hard mode yet but I’m planning on doing it eventually. It was so good! It was really intense which is my favorite kind of scary game and it was fun. I don’t know how you made hammering a wall satisfying but you somehow managed it. I would definitely recommend playing it.

The use of animation to monitor the depth and control events is a really cool idea. It gives you a visual element to control for those events. I don't have any game dev experience (though I am a software engineer), but I can't see any reason this is a bad thing for simple event handling. Might not scale well to conditional events and the like. Also, Lixian's comedic timing is gold.

This game looks amazing I love the atmosphere you've given it. Its scary but not jumpscare scary its the fear of knowing your in a small area knowing you could die at any moment sort of fear
You also unintentionally made barotrauma. A 2d submarine game where you explore the underwater depths of europa. Fighting monsters doing missions and repairing the submarine. There's a lot more to it than that but that's the important stuff for starting out. Very complicated game but VERY fun. One of my favorite games of all time. It's not perfect by any means but it's still a lot of fun.
Love ya, Lixian. I just watched Mark play it and I was thrilled to hear you actually voice acting as the Captain xD We get to see Mark talking to your animated inserts all the time, but actually having him react to your voice was extra fun. Great job, yo.
I played the game, and just wanted to say: thank you so much for adding the checkpoint where you did. I got to see two different death animations, but I did beat the game on the third try and thought it was at a good difficulty level! ...Just not sure I'm ready to tackle hard mode yet, though. ^_^;

Almost all of my ideas have spawned from "what would I do to fix X?" I've got it for Pokemon, Yandere Sim (barf), and some others
The fact that the cat that the members bullied Lixan into adding was the thing that made the game 10/10 to Markiplier 😂
"what happened to the cat? *sniffles*"
I don't know how lixian manges to mix two copletely unrelated horror games, and it comes out good.

You know a game is fantastic when Markiplier wants to make a movie about it.
I would've never thought in a million years I would sit through a whole game dev video-
This was so cool + how Lixian explained things was perfect (especially for my dumb dead tired brain)
This aged well
the fact that you learned programming and how to make games while also having adhd is so impressive to me, i can't focus through my own even to learn things i'm super interested in. and i also have thalassophobia (mine's actually bathophobia) and megalophobia! this video was really good, i like seeing how games are made, and you did a really good job with explaining the different parts.
1:04 sure...
Dont be modest. The music was phenomenal. You outdid yourself Lixian. Bravo!
