Using an LG G Watch, Moto 360, or Samsung Gear Live, you can automation things like Philips Hue bulbs, a Nest Thermostat, Belkin Wemo switches, and even a Mac Pro or MacBook Pro/Air. The process does take a bit of setup, but it's worth it in the end.

Very good explained video, thanks for the shout out!
Watching this video with always listening "Okay Google" command turned on is not a pleasant experience. :)
A well deserved shout out to ***** , but wheres the shout out to João Dias?? None of that would be possible without AutoVoice. Just saying. ;)
Just awesome but quite complicated.
Sami Al Khatib if you have a controller like the Vera Lite (one I used in my video) it's a lot easier.
***** ***** He's getting a shout out for each one of his apps. :) They are excellent!
So theoretically... You could say 'Okay Google... Schedule a party for next Saturday at 9:30 pm'
Have it send an invite to your top 30 most common contacts. Have your mac buy chips drinks and other stuff from Amazon. At 9:30 change all the lights in your house to a party atmosphere type lighting. And search pandora for a nice party mix.
The possibilities are endless.
Nice video. You may also want to checkout the review of home automation on my blog at *jasonreviews. com/home-automation-review/* Thanks, Quill.
Im a tech geek, and this has got to be the best thing I've ever ever seen
Spent the let 2 hours on recreating all those actions for myself. Feeling like a boss right now. You sir made my day!
Glad you could benefit from it!
Improving the Internet 1 video at a time! Great info Dom!
Dude!!! This is superb... I actually thought of doing this with all the electronics stuff with arudino,RaspberryPi and all the other options you can think of. But this is made so simple with no programming and hardwiring required and just with the devices we have and use. Thus, this is amazing. I totally felt astounded. Double thumbs up..!!
Great explanation Dom!
BAWS status Dom!
Great video. Clear explanation, good usage of visuals and above all nice automations!
TALK ABOUT AMAZING TOOLS PUT TO SOME BADASS USE!!! I'm totally going to try this!!! Thanks Dom and Armando
This is super cool! And super complicated!
lol yea, it seems a bit complex, but it's pretty easy to set up everything. I did it all in about 20 to 30 minutes.
This I'd the best automation set up I've ever seen.
WOW - great vid! I have had autovoice and tasker setup on my phone for >year, but extending this capability to the Moto360 made it MUCH handier! I never really used all the automation i setup before I got the watch because it would require unlocking the phone and executing google search. Now I just hold up my watch, speak "Open Garage", and the garage door opens!
This video inspired me a lot. Now that Google now has auto voice integration, I can do this without root. Thanks you!
you know i actually dont give a shit about anything you mentioned BUT you explained everything really really well with very nice animations and you simply just made a good video and im sure the android guys will love it, so THUMBS UP
The moment I saw the title of this video, I knew Armando had some kind of virtual involvement with this...
Sounds like a hell of a setup process lol but very cool
Wow this is awesome! I'm stunned! Great work Dom and thanks for sharing!
Dang you went all out connecting all you devices using multiple automation apps and services. The cool thing is though, in a couple months to a year, many of these features will be natively supported meaning no programming 5 or 6 different apps. Ex: Nest promises Google Now integration coming this fall, which I'm looking foreword to!
Great video man! It's nice to see you really put a lot of time into making the video! :)
I've been automating things on my phone with Tasker & also some NFC tags, & recently I started using WakeUpOnLAN to be able to turn on my PC. But I really don't use them that much because it was more of a fun project. This kind of stuff doesn't even make you more efficient either.
Very good to integrate everything together, but because you have to use so many apps and tools it's just a massive faff at the moment. When somebody manages to put all these together to work in 1 app and to make it work on windows and Mac then it'll be awesome!
Epic video so cool I
Didn't even know you can do this
Yup. And you don't even NEED Android Wear. It's all possible with just an Android smartphone as well!
This is the future !
Rooting, blugins, ifttt... So much combinations.
I think Apple will make it nice and easy for regular user.
probably but there is always join in doing something yourself .. at least i feel that way :D
That's so complex!! But so damn cool!!
This is a great video
Thank you!
***** I will be working on getting my automation game up
You are a genius, really!
Awesome! Thanks for the inspiration brotha
Very useful, Thanks for sharing
Great video! But is it any way to avoid using text messages?
Awesome video ;) as ***** tutorials, I can't get them to work without using voice commands. Any suggestions?
Great video :)
This video made me chuckle. It's a classic example of why I don't use Android. Yes it's very customisable, but at the expense of tremendous complexity! HomeKit in iOS 8 is going to be much better than this.
Sure but is ios 8 officially released yet? How about that apple smart watch?
iOS 8 is currently in beta 4. No official word on iWatch yet. iOS 8 will be publicly realised in the fall as always. I'm confident that iWatch will follow shortly after. I for one am happy to wait!
***** lol I know its in beta I said was it officially released yet... no its not. Android beat apple to it! that's all im saying!
The cool thing is, that Apple will put all this in one app. (I refer to their recently announced HomeKit)
is there an IR Blaster that connected to your wireless network that can then be used with this to control various devices like your AVR, Bluray, and so on?
EDIT: so for whatever reason the author has seemed to skip over the fact that the link to the Google Search API links to a broken version and that if you search the thread on XDA you'll find a version 1.3.2 left in the middle of thread with no indication other than reading some back posts about how it doesn't work and people saying to use 1.3.2. It works perfectly fine for me now with the new version even though in the xposed module it shows 1.2.1, I can only assume because the user called theknut and bitblaster had taken the original file and modified it to work on google search 3.5.
forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/mod-google-search-api-t2554173/page29
I don't understand why the only 2 people with videos about how to set this up skips over this fact, but they did and I hope they go back and fix this error as it's incredibly frustrating after you've purchased so many apps to get it to work.
i was wondering... if one has autovoice running on his phone.. is it possible to just use the mic input from the watch to send to the phone constantly? meaning.. just saying 'lights on' and bypassing 'ok google --> lights on'? or does the watch only send mic input when 'ok google' is activated?
Someone needs to combine this into one software package with an open api for people to make changes. But since it is in one software package it would be easier to get setup.
No Ifttt sms integration in the uk. Can you connect tasker to Ifttt to do this??
Can I launch tasks without using AutoVoice? I mean can I just scroll my favourite tasks, tap one and launch it?
Wellp... This is awesome.
OH! I wonder if you could side load these apps on the Nexus Player and use the mic in the remote control to control everything??? ^_^
Nope looks like xpose frame work does not support x86 yet... so probably cant do this???
Do you still need a rooted android phone to get this working with Android wear? I want to control my hue lights from my smart watch with voice commands... Would be so awesome!
Very good vedio!
So how does your Google Now commands communicate with Tasker? That's not native.
Can you take your jailbroken device on a plane through the x-ray machine or will it be taken away?
Doesn't these SMS that get send from the phone cost something or do you have a SMS flat?
Great video! However, IFTTT is pronounced like “gift” without the “g.” :)
It's an acronym, but I guess it depends on how ya look at it. I've always said each letter, but I could have been incredibly wrong this entire time lol.
***** I doesn't matter, I used to say it like that as well. According to their website, it's "gift" without the "g" though
Franklin S. Then I look like huge poser now to any IFTTT fans. Sorry for that haha. Thanks for the heads up!
Just hope they keep IFTTT free !.. it is the core of all this.
Ricardo Wagner Well, I hope Google adds native integration in the near future with all of the APIs available. In theory, it's possible, but who knows when/if that will actually happen.
My Google Now kept activating when you said "Google", da struggle doe :'(
ha!
Where did you get your table? IKEA?
you have to root it? is there a way to do it without? it works on my phone but the comands from the watch dont go through the phone so they dont activate, thanks for the answer!
I think AutoVoice can work without root - it just asks you to add it as an accessibility service on your phone so that it can see what Google Now searches are being made. There's a video about it on the AutoVoice website.
***** In the description why does it say "subscribe to my Android wear review"?
Should've been "Subscribe for my Android Wear review" lol. Fixed.
HOLY F**K!!!! 57 programs and text messages + drop box and rooting, and you can turn off your lights. It's cool you posted this and that you set it up, but man, no average person will even get close to figuring this out. Only us computer geeks probably.
this is so cool but i don't have a lamp or speakers that i can control with my smartphone, :( i can not do this :(
it doesnt work ony android wear but on my phone
Everytime you said ok google my google now opened. That new update can be a bit annoying sometimes *****
Your "ok Google" activated my phones Google search
How does the smartwatch carry out such power hungry tasks with only 1/2 GB RAM??
Can you please do a giveaway
2160p??? How????
Sorry to be that person but FIRST! :)
1. k
2. you're not first
4:45 lol, that's what happening when you're not using linux
smart use of root
gl
Awesoooome :-)
that is complex as hell
This is such a mess lol. I bet Apple's HomeKit will be so much easier and seamless.
Why root to get access to the API? Just get a dev to code an app using the API.
It must be a pain to have to root and get like 4 separate apps with plugins and using IFTTT also.
I really hope Apple does this so much better than Android handles it.
Is automator only for Mac
yep, but im pretty sure there are plenty application like automator for windows
thanks
can i please win
What a creepy way to "interact". In this way, you got too much latency time... don't you?
