  • A super simple and VERY basic video on how to get your V-Accordion to send bass key changes to your arranger of choice. Designed for V-accordionists that really want the very most basic of basic guidance to get their V-accordions to send key change signals to their arrangers.

Jerry, thank you for this demonstration. Very clear to follow. I noticed on the xd4, you did not have a receiving channel for the accordion bass. I recently purchased a Roland 4x. I use a Ketron xd3. I do not know how to set the channels so that it operates correctly. The dealer knows even less. I explained to dealer that I solely work off of the the Ketron with registrations. All I need is for the appropriate channels to communicate. Dealer has pressed so many internal parameters randomly, I think that may be part of the problem. I will of course attempt to modify the channels and hopefully they will correspond. Any suggestions?

Hi, thanks for posting! Realistically it is not possible to answer such a question completely for the simple reason that I do not know HOW you want to use your 4X with your arranger, but if all you want to do is use the arranger to follow your chord changes, set the arranger chords to listen (receive) on channel 3. For other functionality, you can refer to the appropriate free PDF manual from Roland on the 4X and see what channels to use. I hope that helps.

@@JerryPH Thank you for your response, Jerry. You make perfect sense in your answer regarding “how” I am using my arranger. I will spend time with it and the manual I have. I wish I had your technical expertise! Your videos are very informative and enjoyable to listen to.

Thanks for the praise, but we all start from the same level and move in the direction our needs take us. Good luck! :)
