- Опубликовано: 4 июн 2024
- When United Airlines placed the biggest widebody aircraft order in US history at the end of 2022, it was uncertain if any airlines could commit to anything bigger or better in 2023.
A few carriers have indeed risen to the challenge in the past year, placing massive, blockbuster orders with both Airbus and Boeing. Even United Airlines makes an appearance this year!
In today’s video, we’ll look at 6 particularly large orders announced by airlines all around the world.

We should note that Ryanair announced a firm order for 150 Boeing 737 MAX 10s in May 2023, with options for an additional 150. As stated by Ryanair, "Given the size and scale of the transaction, it will be subject to shareholder approval at Ryanair’s 14 Sept. AGM."
And if you're watching this the day it goes public, then Merry Christmas!
Maybe the max 10’s can allow Ryanair to fly to America now?
BUT, Boeing have yet to agree to sell these ILLEGALLY BELOW COST. That is what RyanAir have told Boeing and Joe Biden, historically IRISH, agreed to do. Break, USA and International Law and the International Agreement that allows Boeing still to exist, Thick, Thicker and Joe Biden the PRESIDENT of the US&A?
NO WAY, PROFIT TOO LOW!@@Ayden2008
Thx
@@Ayden2008I believe the -10 is the shortest range Max aircraft. So it would rather be with the -8
India's doing some crazy shit
INDIA will become STRONGER than Xi PingPong Dictatorship. I am White, Yorkshire British and INDIA will become a winner just like under General Bill Slim, Indian and Britain throw back the Imperial Japanese Forces. DO NOT FORGET!
Corporate India to be specific
Am Indian, can confirm we're upto some crazy shit.
Indians are always up to some crazy shit. I just hope these crazy shits have a huge help to the economy and the life of Indians.
Look like Air India might catch up to Emirates and Qatar. So many of their passengers do through those hubs. When I flew Qatar to Doha, most of the of the passengers were going to India. DFW to DOH
Something to note that most South Asian travellers aren’t necessarily loyal to an airline or frequent flyer program, but rather hunt for the most value for money deals.
@@joeljustinas they should! 😌😌
Btw I'm a Bangladeshi and I'm sooo excited for both Indigo and Air India to come to Europe with potentially low prices. Our national carrier always has VERY high prices and It's slowly dying because of corruption & mismanagement. I personally couldn't give two fuck, they brought it on themselves 😒😑
So much for Akasa, Riyadh, and Thai mega orders supposedly announced before the end of the year !!
Air India needed this refleet... flying with them you would swear the plane will fall from the sky midflight... Their plane is also poorly kept
That was in government rule now it’s u der there original owner called tata
@@Trickyx786 Exactly! People really don't know that when it was under TATA, it was one of the best airlines in the world! I can't wait to travel in the new A350-900 which arrived this week.

I would argue that carriers in India are subject to strict regulations on aircraft’s airworthiness. The issues on Air India were mostly about service and hardware such as IFE and seats, but not much on technical faults of the plane itself.
@@Trickyx786government run companies sucking! What a surprise!
Interesting orders summary video. Thank you Simply Flying and thanks for all your interesting videos over the past year.
Merry Christmas and happy New Year to the team there.
Winner of the year is Airbus congratulations 🎉👏👏
EVEN with the Biden Illegal SUBSIDIES!
2024 BIDEN and DEMONcrats are GONE
BOEING will be sold to Airbus
DEMONcrats Bye Bye Miss MUD PIE!
With Boeing not far behind
December numbers are not in but Airbus could end with more than 1800 net orders.
Boeing seem close up to about 900 net orders.
@@chiad25 1883 orders at Airbus.
Good to see airlines moving to more environmentally friendly aircraft . Some of United Airlines 757/767 are way past their sell by date.
Wasnt it aslo influenced by their maintenance?
Problem is there is not an ideal aircraft to replace the 757 so they keep them longer. They still have a lot of life left.
A video of orders of other plane makers will also do us good too...thank u
I wonder how Lockheed would fare if they were still in the commercial airline market with modern planes?
The L1011 was ahead of its time. I still liked the 747 better but as a wide body the L1011 was generally comfortable to fly in long hall. It it too bad there is not a third player in the market.
Maybe it's not being offered yet, but I haven't heard of any sales of the A321XLR.
There is a video on simple flying about The 321XLR.
Some carriers have showed interest.
But AB have not been permitted to build the aircraft with the size of extra fuel tanks they originally intended, due to regulatory constraints.
So it will not have the range that they wanted.
It remains to be seen, how many airlines will take it with the reduced range.
I think Air Transit ordered a few but i don't know if there going to get the version they want
It’s just 200nm less
8:11 it’s supposed is be 1968 not 1986
superb mister
Most exciting order is Turkish A350 freighter
@@benoi5 yet they got the better a350

The 737 started flying in 1967.
Lufthansa might have been the launch customer for one of the SECOND GENERATION models, but not for the original.
It is becoming clear that narrowbodies rule - encroaching into routes where you once would never have dreamed of flying anything but a widebody. That's because they've got bigger with longer range while keeping their lower costs (long thin fuselage=less drag, easier to build). This in turn is the result of better design and manufacture, especially composites. Boeing missed the boat deciding to persist with the 737 years ago rather than building a clean-sheet 320 (and 330 and 340) killer. At the smaller end the 220 is going to eat everyone's lunch, including the 320's, if Airbus ever gets its supply chain woes sorted.
It appears united wanted to stay in the top airlines for aircraft orders
Imagine an airline ordering 1,000 aircraft
Q. Imagine a Car Warehouse ordering a THOUSAND Cars? YOU THICK?@@Ayden2008
Azul’s New 4 A330-900neo
Hardly worthy of an order of the year .
Wait , we're talking a mega order for 4 330's neo here...
You may have a point !!!.
You forgot to mention Ryanair order for 150 737max10 with options for another 150.
They stil have a backlog of the 2014 order of 737-800ng's and 737-max8 who are now 5 years overdue (2019) on delivery.
after all boeing quality safety problems i would personally rather fly on Airbus but unfortunately biggest company in EU Ryanair using Boeing in their fleet 🥵
All Airbus orders ensure better travel experience - so airliners ordering these will be my priority choices in the future - and I still don’t understand why airliners order MAX-8 - it’s a
Fifty year old air frame :-(
Well even the a320 is a 40 year old airframe and not sure why airlines order the a320neos. Airbus doesn't ensure better travel experience as Boeing also gives the same too
@@nickolliver3021 true - but Airbus still have a better broader frame and considerably lower noise level… so airbus any time -
I fly 200,000 km annually!
@@Reitoft I don't see how airbus have a considerably lower noise level? Boeing has a considerably lower noise level too. Boeing has a better broader frame too so no need for saying one is better than the other.
@@nickolliver3021 ok - your Call - fly a Max Pick Seat 15a -
Just to Pick one in a Max 8 and the same in an Airbus 320 neo - and return when you have tried
@@Reitoft how to compare apples to oranges! Did you actually have a Christmas or just a day to be on RUclips replying just about a damm plane you prefer
Boeing is a series of disasters waiting in the wings. I would not step on any of their aircraft in its current state of decay. Outright dangerous according to many of the engineers in their 50's with the most experience. Every-time they open their mouth and point at flaws, significant maintenance lapses, missed roll-out of system upgrades, and ongoing bugs Boeing shuts them up or replaces them with less experienced people. It has been like this apparently for two decades of decline.
I hate the nightmareliner and max, just hideous!
Airbus won..Big time. Boeing needs to give up on the 737.
🤡🤡
@@patriots101The numbers says it all. Airlines prefer the A320 over the 737 MAX.
Boeing did want to replace the 737 with a clean sheet after the NG but several airlines that have 737 in their fleet told Boeing no. When Airbus announced the A321, Boeing had no choice but to upgrade the NG to the Max. It takes about 10 years from drawing to production.
@@JohnWilliamson_ Numbers says that the 737 doesn't need to end because its still getting orders. perhaps by your logic airbus needs to give up on a320 as its too much in backlog.
@@alexrebmann1253I think you should have meant the A320NEO over the A321. The reason is that the A321 is just part of the original A320 family before Airbus developed the A320NEO as a 2nd generation A320.
