I feel like I am discovering Led Zeppelin again for the the first time! I love seeing you guys react to this great music... PLEASE try Kashmir next... They have so many great songs and Kashmir is definitely one of the most popular, but that isn't why I want you to listen. I just thing you guys would really enjoy it.
I would also recommend to hear the studio version before trying Live... they are incredible Live, I think you should hear how the song is supposed to sound first.
More greats to try.... No Quarter, Black Dog, Going To California, Immigrant Song, Heartbreaker..... Babe, I'm gonna Leave you... and sooooo many more!
I don't think the idea of ' how songs are supposed to sound' applies to LZ songs. There are just variations, and the studio version is one - the best they can do in the studio.

This song was written in 1929 by Memphis Minnie and Kansas Joe McCoy. Delta blues artists. It’s about the Great Mississippi flood in 1927 and moving to Chicago for work… Most people don’t like cover songs but Zeppelin kills every cover they’ve done!
If Zep didnt cover the blues nobody would know bout these songs, so they actually brought the black american blues into the mainstream. They added so much to the song that i dont really see it as a "cover" but as their song, they killed it!

If I recall correctly, they placed an amp in a chimney, to record those drum.
@@robbob5302 they placed microphones one floor up a staircase in an old English house they were recording in, and set up the drums on the ground floor. Used the Rolling Stones mobile studio to run the recording, with wires running everywhere from the truck outside.

It's literally not possible to listen, and re-listen to Zeppelin and not be in utter awe of the music delight they relentlessly deliver.

Those drums? Are LEGENDARY!! They were recorded in a stairwell of a haunted mansion. EVERY rock drummer wants that sound. Great choice, keep going.

The drums from this song were some of the most sampled in early HipHop. All the instruments and vocals were recorded at the same speed then the instruments only were slowed half a step in the mixing to help give them that slow, sludgy sound while different vocal effects were added to make his voice extra raspy. In addition, a backward echo effect was added to the harmonica. Not only were they masters at performing, but masters in the studio; guitarist Jimmy Page produced all their albums and made sure he got the best out of the band he possibly could. What their music has is "dynamics", meaning a song changes and evolves, which, consequently, keeps you on your toes. Some of their credos are "light and shade", "tight but loose", and "whisper to the thunder"; these are all terms often used to describe their music. I hope you guys consider starting from the beginning and going in album/track order because you will miss some phenomenal songs if you go by most requested alone. Plus, you will hear their musical evolution in songwriting, instrumentation, performance, everything. You guys are doing great and happy to see two more Zeppelin fans added to the family.

Led Zeppelin took its inspiration from post WWII delta blues guitar players--repacking and updating these gut stirring songs with a modern RnR vibe. Robert Plant (lead singer) and Jimmy Page (lead guitar virtuoso) were immersed in the old delta blues R&B music and saw the genius in the old songs. Their musical perspective and reverence were a big part of their success.

Four immensely talented musicians … the stars and planets were aligned in the cosmos for them to arrive at the same point in time to form the most prolific rock band ever … 50 years have past and their music is still relevant !!!!
These guys have variety no song sounds anyway similar to each other, anyway to continue on the Led Zeppelin path I'd recommend u react to In the Evening, Whole Lotta Love, Stairway to Heaven, No Quarter, Kashmir and Nobody's Fault but Mine

I was first infected with LZ at 16 (way back in the 80s) - and to this day their music moves me, energizes me, makes me bawl, but mostly: feel ALIVE! - such a gift. So, welcome aboard! When The Levee Breaks one my all time favs: what a stomper! John Bonham - GOAT! And Robert Plant's vocals and harmonica - wow! The drum track such a monster; it's been sampled loads of times, i.e. by Beastie Boys, Eminem, Dr.Dre, Beyoncé, Massive Attack etc. etc.
You guys remind me of my friends and me listening to Led Zeppelin when these albums came out. We took in whole albums back then. We were amazed.

Although considered a hard rock band, their music was rooted in blues, folk, country. Based on your reactions so far, I don't think there's going to be many, if any, songs you won't like. When the Levee Breaks is classified as country/blues/rock.
And yep, they were very young when they started out as a group. Individually gifted, together they were a frigging force. If you're going to dive into LZ, I still recommend that you work your way through their catalogue of songs by starting with album 1, track 1.
But if you don't want to go that route, and although I could recommend just about every song, for some early stuff, try Baby Come on Home and How Many More Times for some blues/rock , Babe I'm Gonna Leave You and Ramble On for songs closer to folk/rock, Black Dog and Communication Breakdown leaning more toward just hard rock.

I was born in 1953 so I just missed out on the initial appreciation of LZ. In my 20s I liked their music but I never really sat down and listened properly to them. It's s taken me until I'm 70 to become a total obsessed fan. I've heard so many bands over my life and there have been so many great ones, Queen, Metallica and the wonderful Pink Floyd but Zep are the greatest for me. Every song is brilliant. The day these master musicians got together we were blessed. Love your reactions when listening and keep on the Zep trail.
Really enjoying your reaction! Just for the fun of it, I would suggest you react to their first song on their first album, “Good Times Bad Times”. It was our introduction to them, and listen to the drums in that song.

Yes this is definitely one of the more prominent drum rhythms that Bonham has done!!! If you were to ask any member of Led Zeppelin what is it that makes their sound so incredible and unique, undoubtedly they would each say John Bonham!! John Bonham is recognized by most rock drummers even the best as probably the most Innovative and best drummer of rock ever!!!
If you really want to see John Bonham at his best look for the song Moby Dick live from 1970!! Features an incredible drum solo by John Bonham where, in the middle of it, he starts to play with just his bare hands!!!
Some of John Bonham’s best drumming is in “In My Time of Dying”. Y’all will love that one for sure!
This band is the GOAT! Theres nothing like music performed by real people that have mastered their instruments and bring it all together, there is no substitute! New subscriber here 👋 I'm a 52 y.o. white girl who was raised on Zeppelin from birth by my amazing Dad, who had them playing (along with all the greats back then) daily in our home. I took it all for granted and never REALLY listened until I was about 15 years old ... and then it clicked-- MY GOD THIS BAND IS PHENOMENAL!!! 😄 Before then I was a typical young teenager listening to pop music and top 40 radio, but it's like one day it all just hit me and my mind expanded to learn what true God-given talent sounded like - and Led Zeppelin was (and still is and always will be) at the top of that list.
And I love seeing younger people have that experience too and seeing that look of wonder and pure bliss on your faces discovering it all! You two have great ears and seem very intelligent, and having an open mind will take you both very far. Keep rocking guys!!! Enjoy the ride - Zeppelin will never cease to amaze you!

You need to listen to stairway to heaven now man! I am 67 years old now and I attended Led Zep Concerts they just transcended. Basically took me to another place, loving young people picking up vibes from these times enjoy!

the original was old school delta blues, Zeppelin really rocked out with it. you need to try Kashmir next

I was 12 when I first heard Led Zeppelin my older brother and his friends played them and all the other great bands all the time. Such great music ! all genres of music were killing it 60s, 70s & 80s

The groove and atmosphere on this is so fn amazing.
Memphis Minnie. Was the first person to record this song back in 1929. They often rook songs from the southern black dinners/songwriters. England had never heard of southern blues back then and Zeppelin brought it to England in their rendition of these songs. It's now in the public forum being nearly 100 years old.
I remember back in the 70's attending high school parties where groups of guys were "air guitaring" to all the Led Zeppelin songs.
Zepplin was the first 'Super Rock Band'- took members of many successful bands & then rewrote things. You are enjoyable to watch, you're doing good work.

My siblings are 9 and 10 years older than me and I was born in 68. I have known these songs since I was in a crib. I can't remember when I didn't know all their music.

So happy to see you guys enjoy them! Black Dog is another good one to check out next along with soooo many others from them. I grew up with my dad always telling me stories about them and so many other amazing artiest that honestly had talent we don’t get to see now days. Hands down, Led Zep had the best drummer and so unfortunate he passed way too soon.

It's great to see you guys enjoying them. I am an oldie from the Midlands in the UK, and me and my older sister were fans. I remember she excitedly telling me she was in a pub in Birmingham having a drink with her boyfriend of the time, and John Bonham was sat in there on his own drinking, she said it seemed a bit sad. It wasn't much later than that time that he died. RIP John, if only I had a 10th of your talent.
Most versatile band out there. Blues, rock, soul, r&b…. Not a bad song in their catalog. Lots of variations in style. They even do a few happy, funky, fun songs like Dyer Maker.
